Thankfully, Manuel had gotten all Idrus needed to be able to pay for their food in the diner. Things had changed in the human realm for the past three years now. During that time, it was shillings, dimes, coins, and Idrus needed to play the role of a human billionaire to Iridesssa.
So he had told Gabriel and Manuel to meet him in the bathroom of the restaurant and provide him with all I needed. So Idrus excused himself and met them. Idrus explained to them all they needed and they gave him a credit card and a debit card and explained to him how it all works.
"How did you both know all this?" Idrus narrowed his eyes on them. Gabriel cleared his throat, exchanging a hesitant glance with Manuel. Before confessing.
"We may have visited the human realm a few times to gather information and resources." Idrus' eyes narrowed, a mixture of disbelief, frustration bubbling within him.
"So let me get this straight." He said as he clenched his hand in anger.
"You've been running business in the human realm behind my back, And you didn't think to inform me of this." Idrus said and Manuel shifts nervously while Gabriel scratches the back of his head.
"Well, you see, my lord, it's not exactly behind your back…." Gabrielle starts, and Idrus raises a brow.
"Okay, we may have done it behind your back. We thought you would one day need all this, my lord. We didn't mean to overstep." Gabriel and Manuel exchange a guilty look. Idrus let out a resigned sigh, realizing that their actions, however misguided, were ruled in loyalty and to help.
" Very well." Idrus conceded, waving off their apology.
"But let's make one thing clear. No more authorized trip to the human realm without my explicit permission. Understood?"
They both nodded fervently, relief evident in their expressions.
"Understood, my lord," they said in unison. But Idrus couldn't help but marvel at the audacity of his guards, using their magic to grow business in the human realm, all without his knowledge. How did I not notice it? It's both impressive and infuriating, but I suppose I can't punish them for their resourcefulness.
"So." Idrus said as he leaned against the sink.
"I'll need a place to stay while I'm playing the role of a billionaire. Any suggestions?" idrus asked and Gabriel and Manuel exchanged a glance before Gabriel clears his throat.
"Actually, my lord, we've taken care of that," Gabrielle says with a smirk.
"There's a luxurious mansion waiting for you, complete with all the amenities fit for a vampire lord." I raised an eyebrow in surprise.
"And how, please tell, did you manage that? Idrus asked genuinely curious now.
"Let's just say we have our ways." Gabriel grinned. Idrus shakes his head in disbelief, but a smile tugs at the corner of his lips.
"Well played, gentlemen." Idrus said, unable to hide his admiration.
"Well played, indeed."
"And there is also a car waiting outside, boss." Manuel said, chuckling.
"Very well." Idrus said, tucking away the car keys and the credit and debit card they provided into my pocket.
"You may leave now." he commands, With a deep bow, they disappear into thin air, leaving him alone once again.
He walked out of the restroom and back to the little cute human. As he arrived, she smiled, looking at Idrus, and to his shock, that was when he realized Iridessa really looked like his idriana. They were slight different, but they looked alike. And he felt the rage in him. What kind of game was fate playing?
"Why didn't I see it before?"
"Are you okay, Idrus?" She said, snapping him from his thoughts. He couldn't look at her. Why hadn't he noticed this? Was he so blinded by the ring and the way she drew his attention without even trying and didn't realize that Iridessa looks almost exactly like the mate he had lost a thousand years ago?
"Yes, yes, I'm fine." he said, smiling, and cleared his throat, trying to regain his composure. But he knew she hadn't bought it. But she smiled anyway. And when she smiled, it became mockingly clear that she looked exactly like his mate. Was she reborn? No, no. What are you thinking? That can't be possible.
After they wrapped up the dinner, he paid for it and they made their way out of the diner. The tension in the air was palpable and he noticed her wrinkling her fingers. Damn, he didn't want to make her feel bad. Yes, he might dislike humans and don't want her as his mate, but she is a wonderful, kind person and not bad to look at.
"I must apologize for my behavior earlier. I fear I may have come across as rude." Idrus said, glancing at Iridessa, her cheeks flushed lightly as she met his gaze.
"Oh, that's alright." she replied, her voice soft and forgiving. Iridessa's blush deepened and she averted her gaze for a moment before meeting his again.
"Honestly, it's fine, understand that we all have our moments." She replied.
"I appreciate your understanding." Idrus said, his voice dropping to a husky whisper, As he backed her against the wall, his hands finding her waist, he could smell her arousal, the sweet scent of it intoxicating him. Her breath caught in her throat as she leaned in, his lips brushing against hers in a staring kiss. He delved his tongue into her mouth. She tasted like wine and her lips were soft. Idrus couldn't resist biting it and their tongue's danced in a passionate embrace.
Breaking the kiss,he looked into her eyes, his own filled with desire
"Would you like us to continue this elsewhere?" Idrus murmured as he bit her bottom lip and she moaned causing a low growl to emanate from him.
"Y…yes." She moaned and he kissed down her throat then back to her lips.
"Good girl." he growled and dragged her by her hands and used his eyes to search for the car, they were lots of cars here, so he tucked his hand into her pockets and brought out the car keys, he pressed the button and the car made a sound and they walked towards it and opened the door for her and he walked over to the driver's side and entered the car and turned on the ignition, her arousal permeating the air, and as he looked at her, she blushed and looked away.
"Where to my lady?" idrus asked
"My place or yours."
