Chapter 11 - Glass Walls and Naked Truths

"My lord, how did you sleep?" Gabrielle inquired, standing before Idrus as he lay on the bed. Idrus had a marvelous night but that was with iridesssa and he relished every moment of it, but there was one thing that bothered him.

"What do you think? This bed is absolutely dreadful. I miss my chamber, and the incessant noise from outside prevented me from closing my eyes," Idrus grumbled, rising from the bed in all his naked glory. His gaze fixed on the entire glass wall as he made his way towards it, his manhood swaying from side to side.

"It was that terrible?" Gabrielle asked, he had hoped that Idrus would at least find some enjoyment in the human realm, even if it was just a little.

"Why must they make so much noise? Can't they be quiet?" Idrus growled, pressing his head against the glass, observing the people bustling in various directions below.

"Yeah, humans are weird my lord and I don't think it's wise to stand naked in front of the glass. People might be watching, especially from that tall building across from us," Gabrielle cautioned, walking towards the spacious walk-in closet. He retrieved a worn-out pair of blue denim and approached Idrus, extending it to him. However, Idrus paid him no attention, his eyes fixated on something else entirely and Gabrielle knew that their lord was in deep thoughts but what would he be thinking about.

"What are you thinking about sire?" Gabrielle inquired, glancing downwards and seeing nothing out of the ordinary, just the usual New Yorkers going about their day.

"Gabrielle, did you notice anything peculiar about Iridessa?" Idrus asked, his gaze still fixed on the scene below. Idrus mind filled with images of her face, from her radiant smile to her furrowed brow, and even how she appeared in moments of ecstasy.

"Yes sire, she bore an uncanny resemblance to lady Indriana, but I had refrained from mentioning it," Gabrielle stated. Idrus shifted his gaze away from the glass and looked at him, feeling relieved that he wasn't hallucinating her face.

"I noticed it too, and I don't comprehend the game fate is playing, but I refuse to be ensnared by it," Idrus replied, taking the jeans from Gabrielle and putting them on. The jeans hung low on his waist, revealing his v-shaped physique.

"So, what is our agenda for today, my lord?" Gabrielle inquired as they exited the room and made their way towards the stairs. Idrus still couldn't believe that he was actually residing in the human realm, let alone in a grand mansion. The entire house was painted white and devoid of personal touches, just the way he preferred it.

"In my absence, you and Manuel will have to return to the realm and oversee matters. Since there are no pressing issues at the moment, there shouldn't be much work for the both of you," Idrus informed as they both headed towards the kitchen.

"Furthermore, you will need to provide me with more information about this company and guide me on what needs to be done," Idrus added, taking a seat while Gabrielle fetched a bottle of water from the fridge and handed it to him.

"Yes sir, regarding the company, everyone is already aware of your presence, and with your powers, you simply need to review the documents I will provide, and everything will become clear," Gabrielle explained. Idrus nodded in understanding, although he didn't particularly relish the idea. He wasn't overly concerned about his kingdom, but rather about how to obtain the ring.

"And how do we retrieve the ring?" Gabrielle inquired, as Idrus uncapped the bottle of water and took a satisfying gulp, relieving his parched throat.

"I've realized that reclaiming the ring will take longer than anticipated. I'll need to earn her trust," Idrus stated, prompting Gabrielle to nod and lean on the counter.

"What if you were to tell her the truth, sire? I believe she would understand," Gabrielle suggested, but the expression Idrus gave him made him audibly gulp.

"What? Can you even hear yourself? We cannot reveal our existence to humans," Idrus growled, causing Gabrielle to raise his hands apologetically.

"It was merely a suggestion, my lord," Gabrielle said, looking remorseful.

"Keep your suggestions to yourself, Gabrielle," Idrus retorted with an eye roll. He couldn't believe that Gabrielle, of all people, would propose such an idea. However, he wasn't entirely surprised, considering both he and Manuel had the audacity to venture into this realm.

"My lord, I conducted a background check on Iridessa. Here are the documents," Gabrielle said, flicking his hands to make a couple of documents appear. He placed them in front of Idrus, who swiftly opened them. The documents contained information about the company and Iridessa.

"Alright, thank you," Idrus acknowledged, scanning through the documents. His mind effortlessly unraveled the intricate details of the company's operations, but his focus kept returning to the section about Iridessa. Her presence seemed to enchant his thoughts.

After a brief pause, Idrus set the documents aside, his mind already buzzing with plans for the days ahead. "Gabrielle, as I mentioned earlier, it will be your responsibility to oversee matters in my absence. Keep a vigilant eye on any developments in the realm," he instructed, his voice carrying an air of authority.

Understanding the gravity of his role in maintaining order, Gabrielle nodded solemnly. "As you wish, my lord. I will ensure that everything remains in order within the realm," he affirmed, a strong sense of duty guiding his every action.

With Gabrielle's imminent departure, Idrus refocused his attention on the task at hand. "And as for Iridessa," he continued, determination lacing his words, "I will personally handle her and retrieve the ring at all costs."

"And I shall pay a visit to my company," Idrus declared, placing extra emphasis on the word 'company'. Gabrielle couldn't help but chuckle at his sire's remark, bowing respectfully before teleporting away, leaving Idrus alone in the house.

"Gabrielle return," Idrus thought to himself, and almost instantly, Gabrielle reappeared before him.

"Yes, sire," Gabrielle responded promptly.

"Summon some of the men to this location. I require their presence," Idrus commanded, rising slowly from the couch. A perplexed expression crossed Gabrielle's face, unable to comprehend why his sire would need additional assistance. However, he chose not to question him and simply nodded before teleporting back to the realm.
