Chereads / Enchanted Ring: Bound to A Vampire King / Chapter 9 - Creature of the night

Chapter 9 - Creature of the night

Idrus, who had suddenly appeared in the throne room and was seated on the throne, was questioned by Gabriel about the ring's whereabouts. Idrus, looking bewildered, had just been in Iridessa's home and now found himself here.

"Why the hell I'm I here? What is happening?" Idrus asked, scanning the room. He could control his powers, so it wasn't his doing. It must be the ring. But how did it bring him here? If Iridessa had removed it, how did he possess the ability to transport him back to the realm?

Idrus was puzzled as he faced Manuel, "What do you mean sire?" Manual inquired, trying to make sense of the situation.

"I was with the ring's wearer when I suddenly appeared here," Idrus explained, rising from his throne and running his hand through his hair in frustration. He was truly baffled by what was happening.

"That's strange. The ring never had that kind of power before. Are you certain it's the same ring?" Gabriel questioned Idrus as he paced back and forth in the room.

"Lord, try teleporting to the human realm, let's see if it's preventing you from teleporting back to the human realm," Gabriel suggested. Idrus followed the advice, commanding the energy within him. A black fog enveloped him as he opened his eyes and found himself looking at Iridessa's apartment building but he couldn't come out and get to the house, so he stopped the magic and returned to the throne room.

"I can't return there. How is this even possible?" Idrus thought aloud, his voice echoing through the halls.

"Sire, look at that," Gabriel exclaimed, pointing at a red light surrounding their vampire king.

"I believe she put the ring back on, Sire," Manuel informed Idrus, who was suddenly teleported back to Iridessa's front door. He quickly composed himself, knocking on the door. Today, he would have to retrieve the ring from her, as things were becoming increasingly complicated, and he longed to retreat to his chambers and rest for a few years.

"Who is that?" Iridessa's voice echoed from inside the house, causing him to tense up and his hands and claws to emerge. What could have frightened her? Determined to uncover the source of her fear and eliminate any threat, Idrus instinctively reached for the door handle. it snapped and the door swung open at his touch. Before he could step inside and confront the culprit, he felt something in his side. Glancing down, he discovered a small knife lodged in his stomach. Looking up, he met Iridessa's astonished gaze as she swiftly withdrew her hand from the knife's handle.

"Oh my God! I didn't mean to stab you. I'm sorry," Iridessa cried, tears streaming down her face. Idrus mustered a smile, realizing he needed to maintain the facade of vulnerability. He let out a feigned groan of pain, seizing her arms and guiding her into the room before closing the door behind them. Leaning against the door, he relaxed his posture.

"It's alright, I understand," he reassured her, gently wiping away her tears with his hand. However, Iridessa shook her head, her brow furrowed as she surveyed the wound

"There's no blood," she observed. Acting swiftly, Idris discreetly employed his powers, casting a blue lightning across her eyes to make her perceive the presence of blood.

"Oh Idrus, I apologize deeply. I mistook you for someone else when the door opened like that," she expressed, her tears still flowing as she removed her shirt and applied pressure to the spot where he had been stabbed. Idrus felt uneasy witnessing her distress.

"Do you know how to treat a wound, Cara?" he inquired, taking her hand and guiding her to the dining room, intentionally avoiding looking at her exposed skin. She was only wearing a thin singlet, revealing her enticing skin, and he couldn't help but feel the urge to taste and pierce that soft flesh with his fangs.

"Yes, I do," she replied, and Idrus sat down on the couch, groaning in pain. Iridessa hurriedly left the room and headed towards her own, returning after a while with a large box in her hand. Placing it beside Idrus's seat, she began taking out numerous items from the box, surprising Idrus. If he didn't know any better, he would have assumed he had a fatal wound. He understood that to humans, everything appeared much larger and scarier.

"This is going to be painful, but please endure it," she stated, resting her hand on his thigh while the other remained on the handle of the knife lodged in his stomach. Idrus gently removed her hand from his thigh and brought it to his lips, planting a tender kiss on it. Tears streamed down her eyes as he leaned down and kissed each of her eyelids.

"Stop crying, my love. I'm okay." Idrus grumbled and chuckled, while Iridessa counted silently to five. Idrus managed to hold back his laughter as she looked up at him. Iridessa carefully removed the knife from Idrus' body, her brows furrowing in concern as she saw the wound. She grabbed a clean cloth nearby, pressed it firmly against the wound to stop the bleeding, poured something from a bottle on it, and idrus groaned in fake pain. She then applied a layer of sterile gauze and secured it with medical tape.

After that, Iridessa packed up her equipment when Idrus suddenly grabbed her hand and lifted her up with surprising strength. Iridessa instinctively wrapped her legs around his waist.

"What are you doing?" she asked, trying to wiggle herself down. Idrus laughed and started walking towards her room.

"You will hurt yourself more," Iridessa said.

"I'm fine, my vixen," he replied, kissing her. Iridessa's complaints faded as she kissed him back, wrapping her hands around his neck. As they entered her room, unbeknownst to them, a sinister creature watched them, and the ring shone brightly, but it went unnoticed in the midst of their pleasure.

The creature, hidden in the shadows, observed Idrus and Iridessa with a malicious glint in its eyes. It had been biding its time, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
