Chapter 11 - Mr. Forger.

Bor's character name in Morendat was SwordSmith99. Even though Swordsmith was taken, he just had to make sure he announced who he was. The original SwordSmith was a legendary figure, until he got caught up in a scandal and disappeared.

Nevertheless, Bor had chosen to be a Jester with the combat class being a Hunter. He was pretty good with a bow and other ranged attacks, but where he really benefited was the boost in dexterity and agility.

This was without sacrificing much of the strength that a Ranger lost to boost their range with various weapons. After all, a hunter needed strength, dexterity and agility to handle kills. These were critical skills needed in forging, which had been his true intention for joining Morendat way back when.

Bor never really got the fun of killing mobs and raiding dungeons. Yeah, sometimes when he was bored or pissed off he'd get a kick out of cutting and shooting down some undeads, but having to grind for hours on end was not really his thing.

Unfortunately, this was the price he had to pay. Bor's Hunter class level up would enhance his Sub-class Forger. He had even acquired the Alchemist and Array Master classes to boost his levels, but where his interest really lay was in forgery.

Ah, reminiscing on those early days, when he was still a ruffian, just acquired a capsule. He had heard all about Morendat, how one could make so much money off of it. Being engineering students, most of his fellow students already had accounts.

Bor came from a humble background, hence having a capsule was a luxury he didn't have. However, some of his classmates had marvelous equipment and had been getting to sleep in solarbeds since childhood.

Hence, when Bor got his capsule, he already knew what he was going to do with it. He had it all mapped out. This was a sure-fire way of earning quick money off the rich asshats and all their trust fund.

He had to first make it to level 10 before he could even select a combat class. Add another levels and acquire a few blueprints then you can begin quest to become a forger. Become an apprentice of some NPC Forger and get certification from the Smiths Guild, then you can set up shop in a city.

Just like that, you can start earning Morendat Gold, which was equivalent to real world Units.

Of course, things were never as easy as they sounded, but his enthusiasm, desperation and ambition made him push further, and just like that, he earned a little more to boost the what he got from the school's stipend.

The way Forging worked in Morendat, as he came to learn, was just like everything else. There were levels, breakthroughs, etc. For instance, once one got an NPC as a master, they could be considered Apprentices.

Get a certification and pass the quest, you become a Novice Forger. After that, Amateur, Professional, Master, Grand Master, Godly creator. That last one was only ever achieved by an NPC, who was still at an untouchable level still. So far, there were only two Grand Master players, to show you how far they had come.

Bor was a professional Forger, but still an Apprentice Alchemist under some very crafty and annoying NPC Alchemist. He could get a player to do that, but he knew he'd pay more to a player than an NPC.

After his promotion to Professional Forger, he had found some good business, but that was around the time he met with Susanne and she recruited him into her team. That had been a good year. He had to ruin it. Greed man, not good for one's health.

Anyway, to even come close to being a professional, one had to be at least Level 100, and that needed a lot of grinding and hunting monsters. Since all he needed were the Exp, he would raid guild-owned dungeons which charged a fee. He had no interest in first kills or other flashy achievements, although he did love to tour the beautiful sights and the colorful sceneries. The developers and designers had outdone themselves in this game.

Back to the elf, who by the way was named Ayram, whether that was her real name or just an character name, Bor did not know. So, Ayram had brought Bor a few more blueprints for him to study, and as he did, he got to understand a few more things about the kind of device she was building, but still did not understand the mechanics.

On this day, Bor was going about inscribing a few runes on the newly formed objects when Ayram happened to drop by. Taking care not to disturb him in his Forging room, Ayram patiently waited and admired some of his products.

Soon Bor was done, and Ayram had to admit, she was impressed. The young man had outdone himself. Looking at the marvelous designs, she realized his design was slightly different from the original design, but that did not interfere with the underlaying energy flow. Such a thing required real skill, and she was glad she had a professional on the job.

"What are you up to later on?" She asked as she admired the new designs.

"Sleep," Bor answered. He was being honest, they had a strict curfew, he had no later.

"Come on, I am about to go do a quest, and given that you're a Level 125, I could use your help." She said as she poked him. Bor had been at level 122 a while back, but with constant craftmanship, he had managed to gain some some bit of Exp, enough to tide him through three levels.

"Unfortunately, I was telling the truth. I really have to sleep, feeling very tired. However ...."

"Keep talking."

"If you can wait until tomorrow, I might free up for some time."

"Its a deal!" She quipped, making Bor wonder if he'd just made a mistake. "We need someone to snipe some annoying mob somewhere, so bring your A game."

"You should be concerned about the kind of equipment a Level 100 Hunter has on." He shot back, thinking it was about time his bow saw the light of day.
