Chapter 46 - Two maiden's

I was worried for Cass— I mean Esmond. I'm still getting used to this demon king and hero thing, but he's still someone I know, and he was a kind person, well, sometimes, I guess.

Honestly, when I first heard about him being the demon king, I wanted to run away fast, but instead, I hesitated.

Closing that door and leaving Esmond behind was a horrible choice, but I did come to a realization: my aunt was his friend, and I was his friend. Not once did I think he was doing anything evil.

So, I found the courage to go back and help him, and it was a good decision.

I thought of him as terrifying when I heard stories about the demon king, but in the end, it was all mixed-up stories with no proof, so I wanted to hear from his perspective.

I want to know how he really feels, but I didn't get a chance to ask since there were more important matters that needed to be dealt with.
