Chapter 41 - Chapter 26:Hitomi's Idiot Friend!

Yuto concealed himself with a Genjutsu, watching Naruko as she eagerly opened the forbidden scroll. She looked at the contents, forming a cross sign and trying to flare her chakra, but nothing happened. Observing her struggle, Yuto thought, 'This is it...Naruko's first step toward learning her signature jutsu.'

As his Kamigan kept the Genjutsu active, Yuto glanced over at the scroll, analyzing its contents. Then it hit him: 'This scroll...it's fake!' He realized Hiruzen must have orchestrated this. Under council pressure, the Hokage couldn't openly support Naruko, but he likely knew Mizuki's intentions. This setup might allow Naruko to steal a scroll that contained just the Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu—a jutsu only she could truly harness due to her chakra reserves. Yuto had to respect Hiruzen's strategy; he was manipulating events subtly to help Naruko find her path.

Using his scanner ability, Yuto copied everything he could see from the scroll. He quickly pulled out a spare scroll, jotting down all the information before storing it back in his inventory.

Yuto stayed hidden for about an hour, watching Naruko's progress with pride. Finally, he saw her create five shadow clones. He thought, 'In the anime, Naruko took almost two hours, but she's already done it in one. All those chakra control exercises really paid off.'

Naruko's triumphant cheer filled the air as she celebrated her achievement. "Yes! I did it!" she exclaimed. "I can't wait to show this to Yuto...and maybe rub it in Hitomi's face!" Yuto chuckled softly to himself, shaking his head at her playful antics.

While Yuto was entertained by Naruko's antics, Hiruzen sat in his office, chuckling as he watched Naruko through his crystal ball. Turning his attention to Yuto, he felt amusement at the young boy's determination. Hiruzen had been closely monitoring Mizuki and Naruko, orchestrating a plan to expose the traitor while also helping Naruko master the shadow clone jutsu.

"Only she can truly harness the potential of this jutsu, given her Uzumaki heritage and status as the Kyubi jinchuriki," he mused, watching as Yuto displayed his own cleverness by hiding and observing. He noticed Yuto's glare directed at Mizuki, who was sneering behind Naruko's back. Hiruzen laughed quietly when Yuto commanded his crow to unleash its surprise on Mizuki.

"Ah, clever boy," he said to himself, impressed as he saw Yuto taking notes on the jutsu while naruko was practicing it. While he didn't mind Yuto copying the technique, he knew he'd have to warn him about its dangers since it was forbidden for a reason.

Hiruzen's expression hardened as he called out to his Anbu operative, Neko. "I need you to observe the situation closely. Mizuki is heading towards Naruko and Yuto," he instructed, his voice steady. He had devised a ruse, sending all the Chunin's on a fake mission to find Naruko for stealing the forbidden scroll, all to ensnare Mizuki in a trap.

While Hiruzen felt confident in Naruko and Yuto's abilities to handle Mizuki, he decided it was prudent to have Neko monitor the situation. With Kakashi dispatched on an important mission and Danzo remaining quiet, he deemed it safe to ease the oversight on Yuto, Naruko, and Hitomi.

As he relayed his orders to Neko, his gaze caught something on the crystal ball that made him smile. "These three have formed a deep, unshakeable bond," he muttered.

Back with Yuto, his Kamigan detected something nearby, and he smiled as he spotted Hitomi hiding behind some trees. She was watching Naruko with a relieved and happy expression. Despite their constant bickering, it was heartwarming to see the bond the reincarnated siblings shared.

But the next second, Yuto's expression hardened as mizuki arrived. Mizuki stood over Naruko, his presence looming like a dark cloud.

"Finally, I can get rid of you, demoness," Mizuki declared with a sinister grin, his words slicing through the air like a blade.

Naruko's smile faltered, confusion knitting her brow. "Why are you acting like this?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Mizuki's laugh was harsh, devoid of warmth. "You really don't get it, do you? I tricked you into taking that scroll! Now the whole village thinks you're a traitor for stealing it—a scroll of utmost importance."

Naruko's eyes widened in disbelief. "But... why? I thought you were my friend!" Her voice quivered, the betrayal hitting her like a physical blow.

"Simply because of what you are," Mizuki sneered, leaning closer, relishing the pain he inflicted. "Everyone hates you, everyone wants you dead. You're the Kyuubi, the beast that destroyed our village. You're the Kyuubi reborn!"

Tears spilled down Naruko's cheeks as she processed his words. 'Is it true? Am I really just the monster they all hate?' she thought, her heart breaking under the weight of Mizuki's cruelty. The world felt like it was closing in around her, the memories of her childhood—filled with laughter, hope, and dreams—suddenly twisted into a nightmare.

Yuto felt rage boiling within him, his fists clenching so tightly that his knuckles turned white. 'I won't let this continue. Not while I'm here. Mizuki will pay for this betrayal, and Naruko will know her worth!'

Yuto's heart sank as he saw mizuki's malicious grin widen, a giant shuriken gleaming in his hand. "Goodbye Demoness!" He cackled, launching the weapon towards naruko.

Just as Yuto prepared to intervene, hitomi sprang into action. "Get down, Naruko!" She shouted, appearing in front of her friend. With a swift motion, she deflected the giant shuriken with her Fuma shuriken, sending it spinning harmlessly away.

"What are you doing here?" Naruko asked, surprise flickering in her tear filled eyes.

"Why are you whining, Naruko?" Hitomi retorted, her tone fierce. "You are not a monster! You couldn't even hurt a fly, let alone kill anyone!"

Mizuki's face twisted into rage. "Why are you protecting her? She is the Kyubi! She even killed your clan members!"

Hitomi glared at him, cutting off his rant. "To me, naruko is not a monster! She is my idiot friend!"

Naruko's eyes swelled with gratitude, tears still glistening in her eyes. 'Hitomi believes in me...even when I don't believe in myself.' she thought touched by Hitomi's unwavering support.

Mizuki seethed, fist clenched. "If that's the case, then I will kill both of you!" He shouted, drawing another weapon from his scroll, his intentions clear.
