The academy was filled with energy as the day of the genin team announcements had finally arrived. The students who passed the exams were buzzing with excitement, eagerly awaiting to hear their team placements. Alongside the usual anticipation, a quiet rumor circulated about Naruko supposedly failing the exam. But as she sat confidently alongside her friends, Yuto and Hitomi, headband tied proudly, those whispers began to fade. For four years, the Monster Trio had been untouchable, consistently proving their strength, so the idea of Naruko failing seemed unimaginable to most.
As the classmates glanced at Naruko, many were reminded of the countless times the Monster Trio had dominated the academy ranks. 'There's no way she could've failed,' some students thought, recalling how the trio consistently set the bar. Yuto sat calmly, observing his surroundings, while Hitomi flashed a confident smirk, almost as if daring anyone to question Naruko's place among them.
Naruko couldn't help but smile, feeling a surge of pride in finally reaching this day despite all the struggles and whispers. 'Today's a fresh start,' she thought.
Iruka soon entered the classroom, beaming at his students. He gave a heartfelt speech, telling them how proud he was of their hard work and dedication to pass the exams. As he spoke, Iruka's eyes began to well up, and he couldn't hold back the tears of pride. The students exchanged awkward glances, stifling their laughter. Many of them thought, 'This is so cringe,' but they couldn't deny that Iruka's words carried a genuine warmth. Despite the embarrassment, a few students found themselves touched by his sincerity.
Iruka soon calmed down, announcing that he would call out the teams. Yuto zoned out as Iruka went through the list, dismissing the names of students he considered "cannon fodder" until Team 7 was called. "Team 7: Naruko Uzumaki, Hitomi Uchiha, and Yuto Yamanaka."
The room stirred with reactions. Some girls sighed in disappointment at not being on Yuto's team, while a few boys cast jealous glances his way, envying his placement with two of the most admired girls. Still, everyone understood why this team was formed—they were leagues above the rest of the class, a trio of unmatched skill and potential.
Ino and Sakura let out whines of disappointment, complaining they didn't get to be on Yuto's team, having quickly become the lead members of his growing fangirl group. Even Hinata looked a bit downcast. Meanwhile, Yuto grinned and turned to his teammates, exchanging a fist bump with Hitomi and Naruko, both clearly thrilled they'd get to be on the same team. 'This is going to be good,' Yuto thought, feeling the energy and camaraderie between them.
Team 8 was formed with Hinata Hyuga, Kiba Inuzuka, and Shino Aburame. Team 9 included Sai, Yakumo Kurama, and Sakura Haruno. Team 10 consisted of Ino Yamanaka, Choji Akimichi, and Shikamaru Nara.
As Iruka finished calling out the teams, a sense of anticipation filled the classroom. The students exchanged glances, whispering excitedly about their future missions and who they'd be working with. Iruka smiled warmly at them, his eyes twinkling with pride.
"Remember," Iruka said, his voice carrying through the room, "being a ninja is about more than just strength. It's about teamwork, responsibility, and always being ready to face the unexpected."
He paused, his gaze sweeping over the students. "You all have the potential to do great things, and I'm proud to have been part of your journey."
Naruko grinned, feeling a surge of excitement. 'This is it,' she thought, 'it's finally real. I'm a Genin now. But I'll prove to everyone that I'm more than just a Jinchuriki!' She gave Hitomi and Yuto a thumbs up, her usual carefree grin lighting up her face.
Hitomi, leaning against her desk, her eyes serious. 'I have worked hard for this. It's time to show what I am really capable of. I will kill you soon, Itachi!'
Yuto, who had been quiet throughout the team announcements, now stretched lazily, his eyes narrowing with a hint of excitement. 'This is going to be interesting. It's just the beginning of the anime now, soon the time will come when I will be able to dance with Madara.'
The room buzzed with chatter as students grouped together, some discussing possible missions, others trying to guess which Jounin would be assigned to them. Meanwhile, Yuto, Hitomi, and Naruko discussed about their Sensei.
"I wonder who our Jounin will be," Naruko said, twirling a lock of her hair around her finger. "Hopefully not someone like Mizuki. I don't think I could handle that again."
Hitomi rolled her eyes playfully. "Don't jinx it, idiot. Just focus on being the best Genin we can be. We'll take on whatever comes our way."
Yuto gave a slight smirk, his eyes scanning the room. "Whatever it is, we'll be ready. I'll take the lead, and you two follow me."
Naruko laughed, "We'll see about that, Yuto! You may be good, but don't forget we've got our own strengths!"
The trio shared a moment of laughter, the familiar warmth of friendship surrounding them. They had faced so many challenges together, and now, as official Genin, they would face even more.
The door to the classroom opened, and Iruka gave one last smile before heading out, leaving the students to prepare for the next chapter of their lives. The clock on the wall ticked down the minutes until their new sensei would arrive.
It was time to move forward.
Yuto watched as the last group of Jounin instructors arrived to collect their students. When Yamato appeared for Team 9, he felt a sense of surprise. 'I expected someone from Root,' Yuto thought, noting the absence of the manipulative, covert figures who had been linked to Danzo. He had assumed that Sai's team would be used as a pawn to expand Root's influence—especially with Sakura's chakra control and Yakumo's Genjutsu. But this was different. Yamato, with his calm demeanor, was a trusted Konoha ninja who could thwart Danzo's plans without even knowing it. Yuto knew from the anime that Yamato was a big help to Naruto in the future. His wood release, while not on Hashirama's level, was also quite excellent to control 3 to 4 tail Naruto.
Yuto felt a quiet sense of relief. 'Grandpa Hokage must have anticipated everything. Yamato will keep Sakura and Yakumo safe from any schemes,' he mused, crossing his arms. 'I wonder how Danzo is going to spin this,' Yuto thought, knowing that the manipulative old man would not take this defeat easily.
Team 7 sat anxiously in the classroom, the ticking of the clock growing louder with each passing second as it soon became from second to an hour. Naruko couldn't hold her irritation anymore. "I swear, if he's not here in five minutes, I'll just punch him in the groin!" Her voice was dripping with frustration, and she slammed her fist on the desk for emphasis.
Hitomi crossed her arms, her eyes also showing her irritation. "Same. I'm starting to think he's doing this on purpose."
Yuto, who had been leaning back in his chair with his eyes half-closed, sighed dramatically, grabbing his crotch. 'Poor Kakashi... he's about to unleash the fury of two reincarnated gods on him. And with how they're acting today, he doesn't stand a chance since I can guess they are on their periods.'
Naruko shot Yuto a glare for his actions, but he knew she wasn't angry—just frustrated. She and Hitomi both had quick tempers when it was their periods. Still, he couldn't help but feel a little sorry for their poor Sensei. With the tension in the room rising, it was only a matter of time before the storm would come.
Naruko stood up, pacing the room. "This is so stupid. Why couldn't he just show up like a normal teacher?!" She glared at the door, willing it to open.
Hitomi snorted in irritation and leaned forward. "Think he's hiding because he knows what's coming?"
Yuto chuckled softly, then straightened up in his chair, adopting a serious expression when the two glared at him. 'Whatever the case, I'm just hoping he can handle these two. I'm just here for the entertainment.' He raised his eyebrows knowingly.
The door suddenly creaked open, and all three heads snapped toward it.
Standing in the doorway, looking as relaxed as ever, was Kakashi Hatake, his famous mask covering his face and his eyes barely visible behind his long, silver hair.
Naruko immediately stood up, fists clenched at her sides. Her twin ponytails were flowing behind her as her eyes were white dots showing their fury. "You—!"
Hitomi didn't even need to say anything, her icy sharingan glare already locking on Kakashi. The air practically crackled with the pressure of their combined irritation.
Yuto, still in his chair, sighed dramatically, crossing his arms. "Well, well. Seems the man himself finally graces us with his presence. Took him long enough."
Kakashi took a deep breath, eyeing the trio of students before him. He chuckled at the angry girls as he said. "Sorry, I was late because I was lost on the road of life." He gave a eye smile at that.
The excuse Kakashi gave made Naruko facepalm while Hitomi scowled, her patience running thin. "Lost on the road of life? Really?" Naruko muttered, clenching her fists. "When I get my hands on him, he's gonna wish he was never born!"
Yuto leaned against the wall, barely containing his laughter. 'This guy's ridiculous, but I can't help but love the absurdity of it. He's got the nerve to show up like this, just like in the Anime!'
Kakashi, sensing the impending wrath of the girls, quickly added, "Meet me on the roof in ten minutes," and disappeared in a puff of smoke, leaving them standing in the classroom.
Naruko was ready to chase after him. "That's it! I'm gonna—"
"Let's go," Hitomi interrupted, putting a hand on Naruko's shoulder with a predatory grin. "We'll see what kind of sensei he really is."
Yuto smirked, rolling his eyes. "I'm betting on him being a huge disappointment, but hey, it'll be fun to watch."
As they made their way to the rooftop, Yuto couldn't help but think 'This is going to be a disaster. I can already tell Kakashi's gonna be a handful, and if these two go off, there's no telling what'll happen.'
