The crowd gasped in unison as she walked through the foyer of the King's Law Firm that afternoon, a place that she had been to many times to see Mr Rothschild the former CEO of the firm.
She was a very beautiful young woman who looked dashing in everything that she wore and her long white locks of hair made her stand out without even trying.
As she waited for the elevator she heard men drool over her sexiness while the women envied her if not for her gorgeous looks then probably for the expensive designer clothes that she wore or was it the limited perfume she had chosen that day, she couldn't tell what irked them.
A delivery man rushed out blindly and accidentally bumped into her spilling the coffee she was carelesdly holding.
"Fuck!" She exclaimed irritatedly while placing the black fancy shades she had been wearing on the top of her head.
"A...Am sorry ma'am, am truly sorry." He stammered and apologized as he dashed off. Thankfully it hadn't messed up her lavish white two piece suit that she had carefully chosen, One would think that she was trying to leave an impression.
"Luna?" Nathan's face beamed with delight, He was suprised to see her at his work place.
She however was bummed because he looked like he was heading out.
"Nate, am here to see you let's just go back to your office. It's important that we talk." She slightly commanded and he obliged without hesitation.
DING'
The elevator opened and they walked into the vast office, she noticed that he looked too sober and was staring at her with a slight frown.
"Don't worry, the coffee split on the floor." She assured him after assuming that he was wondering if she was OK after the mishap that had happened earlier.
"How did you know the correct button to press?" His eyes exuded curiosity as he pointed back at the elevator
'Shoot she wanted to disappear into thin air but luckily she had the best excuse.
"Am the white witch remember, I know everything." Adding a wicked laugh to the statement to lighten the moment
"Ha! You don't say?" He sounded doubtful but dropped the issue because he was glad she had come afterall he could get a free psychic consultation while at it.
"Can you foresee anything? am traveling with Logan for a business trip." He raised his eyebrows as he sat to face her.
"Ahh, well it's not clear." She lied unblushingly with a far away look in her eyes.
"You need to give me more information." Luna flexed her hand while maneuvering carefully.
His eyes expanded and critically looked at her "Are you sure you're abilities are back because previously it took was a simple look and you would make a correct prediction."
She changed her stance becoming suddenly irritated " Maybe they are getting depleted because I used them for too long or perhaps they haven't stabilized yet, I don't make the rules you know." Luna was slightly infuriated that he was being secretive and yet what she wanted was information it didn't matter what anything to get in Logan's good graces was good.
"I can't give you all the details but it's a deal that involves alot of money, about half a million US dollars. Should we go for it or stay put?"
Half a million! Where did Logan get that kind of money from? Because if she remembered correctly the pharmaceutical subsidiary he was managing was on the verge of bankruptcy, the vice president position he held renumerated well but not enough for him to make that kind of investment, his mother the new matriarch of the Robinson family could not have given it to him, according to the information she had the his father's will was yet to be read therefore he had no inheritance yet.
So where did Logan get so much money?
Knowing her husband to be a terrible business man, she suspected this was a terrible deal as usual.
"Don't do it until he discloses all the information to you personally which I doubt he'll do." She advised after careful deliberation.
He drummed the armrest of his chair with his fingers "I sincerely hope he listens to me, He's hell bent on some AIDS drug his company."
He looked at the glass figurine that was on the coffee brown wooden table and thanked her before asking why she had come all the way to his office. It was alarming because prior to her memory loss she never left Euphoria unless in disguise.
She swallowed heard and explained that she was there for a legal consultation and he wasn't going to bill her because she hadn't either.
His gaze darkened and moved to the seat closer to her, he was so close that she could see herself in his gorgeous blue eyes. His domineering fragrance almost made her grab and kiss his fine juicy pink lips.
She shook her head to dispel the thoughts from her head
'I must be running mad. I have Logan for Christ's sake.' A tiny voice at the back of her head screamed
"This must be serious Luna. Are you suing someone? What is this about? " His voice expressed genuine concern for her
She cleared her throat and spoke through pursed lips " I need to be sure that whatever we discuss here is strictly confidential, you cannot disclose this information to anyone not even Logan."
"Ofcourse that's how it usually works." His voice sounded assuring enough so she went ahead and told him that she needed a trustworthy henchman that was money hungry.
He gasped in shock while blinking rapidly, his wide eyes not leaving her serious ones.
"Why the hell are you looking for one?" He hoped it wasn't because she wanted to engage in a crime. "Tell me and then I'll decide on whether to link you with one."
She chanted in her thoughts 'I cannot tell him the truth because am sure he's Logan's loyal dog.' She wished he knew that she was actually trying to save Logan from that witch.
After she had heard Megan ordering Logan to massage her feet, her anger multiplied so much so that she made a momentous decision to find a henchman, she was sure Nate had one that was doing all his dirty work. All powerful people do in her experience.
"I don't know any unfortunately." His eyes flashed red as he lied while making inappropriate facial expressions
She pretended to be in a trance so he would be sure she was communicating with someone on the great beyond.
"You're lying. The spirits say you're being deceitful." She spoke in a terrifying voice.
"Damn those big mouthed spirits." His fist banged the coffee brown wooden table
"I would choose my next words carefully if I were you." Luna bit her lower lip so that she wouldn't laugh
He walked to his work desk and pulled out the last drawer which was filled with business cards.
Reluctantly he handed one to Luna who smiled like Cheshire cat.
"Atleast tell me why you need one Luna, I have alot on my plate I don't want to worry about you."
She browsed through her mind for a perfect lie "I need to find out the person who stabbed me, I barely have any peace of mind. Am always on guard thinking that it could happen again." Her words were coated with fear.
He let out a pronounced sigh "I've actually already looked into it and it's a dead end. My lead investigator couldn't find anything s
Furthermore the cameras at Euphoria were turned off that day and you hardly remember anything."
Hearing that elicited warm feelings in her heart " Did Logan request that of you?"
He looked at her with bitter disappointment "He's not the only guy that cares about you."
She was grateful that she had another person that she could rely on.
"Thank you Nate." She smiled politely before saying goodbye.
"Be careful" she heard him shout before she entered the elevator.
Luna pulled out the business card and punched the numbers that were imprinted on it.
Beep.Beep. Beep.
" Raki speaking, who is this?"
