As she turned back, she spotted Olivia and could tell that she was angry. Just looking at her, Ava knew why.
Ava hesitated before moving forward, but before she could say anything, Olivia smacked her hard on the face. Without a word, Ava dropped her head and clutched her face.
The other servants were taken aback by the unexpected turn of events. Gia was overjoyed as she saw Ava get smacked hard, recalling the event from earlier the same day.
Even though Daisy personally taught Ava, Olivia was still considered the house's daughter. So she can't say anything bad about her or go against her at any point. So she simply grabbed her cheek and stood there, saying nothing.
Olivia became enraged when she saw the maids staring at her. She then looked at all of them and said, "If somebody walks up and sets the baggage on the third floor, they may simply cease thinking about working here from tomorrow and don't have to return anymore."
Everyone hastily laid the luggage they were carrying down and stood there, afraid of upsetting their Young Miss. Olivia said fiercely, "Except for Ava, everyone else, go do your work."
Everyone rushed down the stairs in dread of upsetting their Miss, with the exception of certain servants who had worked with Ava from the beginning in this home and had been taught by Daisy, as well as some who had been under Ava's guidance after joining here.
Along with them, two more servants remained behind, who were Gia's followers. They promptly proceeded to stand beside Gia to express their support for them.
Olivia understood that the maids standing behind Ava had been specifically trained by Aunt Daisy.
So she gritted her teeth and inquired, "Who granted that girl permission to remain on the third floor? Do you realize that room should not be offered to any outsiders?"
Before Ava could respond, Gia mockingly stated, "Maybe the girl offered them something to correct them, and they fell for it. That must be why they let that foolish girl stay in that room."
Olivia glanced at Ava coldly and questioned, "Just because you're in charge of cleaning that room, do you think you have control over it? So you can just offer the space to anyone?"
Gia from the side said, "Young Miss, you can't just talk to them like this? They are taking advantage of you because you have a soft corner. And see, they handed the space that would be yours in the future to someone else."
The servants behind Ava were astounded to hear their thoughts. Their thought's where like: "Did Young Miss really think the room would be hers just because no one had stayed in it till now?"
Olivia glanced at Gia, who grasped her meaning and moved forward, raising her hand to slap Ava. Just when she was about to hit Ava, a chilling voice came from upstairs.
"I don't believe a maid has the right to smack another maid in the Adam mansion. And, most notably, a maid who had only been here for less than 10 years had the audacity to smack a maid who had worked here for more than fifteen." Zara said softly as she walked down the stairs with her eyebrows raised.
Ava felt both relieved and afraid of what might happen next. But the remaining maids who stood behind Ava were overjoyed to meet Zara.
Gia had no idea why, but every time she heard Zara's chilly voice, she was reminded of the young master in this mansion, whom she was more afraid of.
So, without her knowledge, she dropped her hand, which she had raised to hit Ava, and stepped behind Olivia.
Olivia became further angrier after seeing Zara's expression, which showed no fear of a person when someone did anything wrong.
Zara stood in front of Olivia, blocking her path to Ava, and stared into her eyes with no emotion. "So you imply that a servant cannot slap another servant, correct? Then I will teach her a lesson." Olivia maintained her calm and remarked, staring at Zara.
"If you don't have a valid reason to strike her, then wait to be sued by her or to be locked up for a while." Zara stated this while staring at Olivia. Olivia was surprised to hear her bring up the cops in the conversation.
But Olivia snorted and asked, "Do you think you have the power to arrest me? Who do you think you are?"
"If you'd like, you're welcome to try. And just because you're an Adam doesn't mean I'll go easy on you. And I'll tell you exactly who I am." Zara spoke as she went closer to Olivia.
Olivia was horrified by Zara's frigid glare, and whenever Zara took a step forward, Olivia subconsciously took a step backward. Let me now make a proper introduction of myself. I'm Zara Adam. Your older sister."
Olivia was still horrified by Zara's chilly stare at her. Zara stepped back after speaking and glanced at Ava, whose cheek was already swollen from the smack.
She looked behind Ava and ordered the other servant, who appeared to be rather young, to get her an ice pack. The servant was named Julia, and she appeared to be in her twenties. She dashed downstairs to get an ice pack as soon as the order was given.
Olivia returned to her senses and was a little relieved, but when she glanced at Zara, who was standing there and gazing at Ava, her fury grew as she remembered how she couldn't even speak previously.
Then she mockingly laughed and said, "Just because you are a distant relative of the Adam family, does not give you the right to bully the Adam family's real daughter."
"When did I say that I'm a distant relative of the Adam family?" Zara spoke without looking at them, instead glancing at Ava's face. Olivia smiled at her and asked, "Then, what? Are you my parents' genuine daughter?
Olivia, unbeknownst to herself, revealed the truth, causing the other servants who knew the truth to widen their eyes as they glanced at her.
Olivia, who was being watched by the servants, felt as if a bomb had erupted in her. She still couldn't bring herself to believe it and assumed they were staring at her for something else.
Zara gently turned to Olivia and glanced at Gia, asking "Didn't you say to her why I came here?" Gia, who had been silent until now, was taken aback and perplexed.
Olivia was perplexed by her unexpected inquiry to Gia, so she turned to Gia and asked quietly, "What did she say?" Gia grasped Zara's meaning but was taken aback when she realized what that girl meant.
Olivia didn't get a response from Gia, so she called out, "Gia!!" "Yes....yes. Young Miss." Gia shuddered as she spoke, but she lacked the confidence to raise her head.
"What did she say earlier?" Olivia inquired again, without looking at Gia. Gia paused, but Olivia did not look at her and rushed her, "What is it!?"
Gia took two steps back after hearing the sudden words and murmured, "Young Miss. She said...." "Say it!"
"She said that she was here to meet her parents." Gia hurriedly finished her sentence and bowed her head, lacking the courage to look at Olivia.
Olivia was stunned and felt as if she had been struck by lightning. She was still in a daze from thinking about the sentence Gia said and combining it with what Zara said, which seemed to make only one meaning: "Zara was the daughter of Adam's family and also the daughter of her parents."
