A pulsar wave of psychic energy suddenly spread across the entire area and beyond...
And immediately after that...although the pulsar wave of energy was invisible and in fact, they couldn't feel it or see it.
But the words from Nameless had suddenly become a sort of enhancement...as they felt something tugging their minds.
It was none other than the first phase of its ability: the phase of hypnotic terror!
And it was named: Hypnotic wave.
And immediately the hypnotic wave spread through the entire area; everyone could feel a dragging force on their minds. It felt as though their minds and souls were about to be dragged out of their bodies.
Such a feeling was truly terrifying...few could not hold on. Their eyes slowly gained a dark abysmal shade, and then they started moving forward or wandered aimlessly away...
Moving towards the Nightmare threat or towards other forms of danger.
"Khain, khain. Wake up, wake up." Rosaline tugged at his clothes, as Charlotte dragged his body despite trying her best to resist the hypnotic wave.
Yet no matter what they did, Khain wouldn't wake up.
They were both consumed by the fear of him becoming exactly like the hypnotized World Evolvers.
Zeras, as he had expected, was still able to hold on just like within the last simulation.
'7..6...3...2...1...'
He counted within his mind...and finally, the pulsar wave of energy gradually came to an end.
As it brought with it the hypnotizing of seven world evolvers. Making the remaining World Evolvers, who numbered about fifty, scared.
Who could say there wouldn't be a next time, or perhaps one even more dangerous.
Everyone's hearts wasn't at peace, their entire minds were in chaos and jumbles. They felt like giving up; they felt like just returning back to Earth.
Yet they all knew there was absolutely no turning back.
They either had to accomplish the mission or die accomplishing it.
Finally, the pain, terror, and chaos gradually came to an end.
"Nameless, your brother isn't waking up," Finero said with a narrowed brow.
"You guys don't have to be worried. He's perfectly fine and would wake up when he has to," Zeras replied with a calm look on his face.
'Who exactly is this guy? And why is he so certain that Khain would be fine.'
Rosaline had a raised brow as she suddenly spoke.
"How did you know that would suddenly happen?"
And she wasn't the only one who found it weird; every other World Evolver found it weird, and they didn't know whether to be afraid or not.
After all, Nameless just seems to always know of something before it even happens and also seems to have other set of mysterious abilities. Whereas, on the other hand, this raised some questions as to who exactly Nameless is.
"You do know about my ability to pinpoint someone or something that can combat a creature," Zeras said with a light smile on his face as he paused for some seconds.
"Yeah, we all know about that," Finero replied with a narrowed brow.
He was beginning to suspect and doubt if Nameless really is a fellow human and not some mysterious Eldritch dream creature in disguise.
But yet, if Nameless is an Eldritch dream creature, why would he help them continuously. And why wouldn't he be corrupted?
This made him raise this thought as a red flag, as he was now sure that Nameless is a fellow human; thereby a fellow World Evolver.
"As I was saying, that ability is an ability that came from another ability of mine. Which is to know of danger before it actually appears before me, and the ability that I told you guys about. It's actually just me having the knowledge of how to combat or face the danger whereas the ability I just made use of allows me to be aware of what the danger is."
Everyone analyzed what he just said, and indeed it all made sense and seemed justified.
Yet Rosaline couldn't shake the feeling that something was definitely off...somewhere or somehow.
There was something he wasn't telling them...he was surely hiding something.
She had a cold gaze as she questioned.
"So why did you lie in the first place?"
"Of course, I wouldn't be comfortable with sharing my ability with some strangers. If you were in my shoe, would you do that?"
She didn't reply, as silence reigned supreme.
Indeed, it was very uncomfortable to share one's abilities with a set of strangers, even if they were fellow humans and fellow World Evolvers.
There wasn't yet that bond between them.
They just met not quite long, and were either separated into groups or absolutely alone.
Therefore indeed if she was also in his shoe, she wouldn't tell them anything.
As the only thing that bonded them together was their race and them being fellow World Evolvers.
Yet she wasn't willing to back down so easily.
"So why are you telling us now?"
Zeras simply shook his head.
"I didn't say the truth the previous time due to me having a choice not to. But as of right now...I really doubt I have any other choice."
And indeed...everyone right now were all staring at him. Curious, cautious, and very much wary of him.
So the best thing he could do in such a situation is to give them peace of mind.
After all, people tend to be scared of the unknown. And unafraid of the known. Before, he was an unknown variable, that seemed so mysterious hence they were all wary of him.
But after he had revealed the unknown...he became the known. And therefore, the wariness they held towards him had reduced drastically.
They all faced their front and prepared for whatever danger they might face.
Tension weighed the entire atmosphere as Finero suddenly spoke.
"Didn't you say you can see the danger before they appear before you? So what's the next danger?"
"No..no. it doesn't work like that. I only sense the danger ahead of time when it's just a few seconds away from happening.
Usually between two to five seconds.
And it doesn't always take place."
And while Rosaline might have wanted to refute him, she had nothing she could refute about what he just said.
As indeed, the first time he made use of the ability was immediately after the Eldritch Larvae beasts had come to being.
And the second time, which was just earlier on.
Was when the invisible wave was just some mere seconds away from them.
Seeing that he had managed to convince all of them, a light smile appeared on his face, as he was quite impressed with his lying ability.
But the question still remains, why would Zeras lie. After all, we all know, that is nowhere near the truth, which leads us to have a single question.
Why would Zeras lie about such a thing, when it could potentially save the lives of his fellow World Evolvers...
