Chereads / Global Awakening: I Can Manipulate Destiny / Chapter 19 - Third Curse: Abyssal Embrace.

Chapter 19 - Third Curse: Abyssal Embrace.

The veil of shadows which can also be called the...Abyssal Embrace.

Zeras gave a deep sigh. For he knew just how difficult and perhaps heaven ascending it would be to overcome and successfully triumph over this curse. It might not be the worse of the curse...but it truly is the most despairing.

"Wheew!!" He exhaled deeply, before glancing behind him. Haezel could be seen walking with a light smile on his face with Khain on his back. He seems to be carefree and didn't even seem scared.

One that others might have found surprising...yet Zeras only chuckled. Before his voice suddenly tore through the air.

"Aren't you scared...even if it's just a little bit. I will understand, yet you display such a determined and fearless expression...almost as though you aren't even scared of dying."

Haezel had a light smile on his face as he shook his head before replying.

"Scared...of course I am scared. Infact I am scared shitless...I doubt anyone is as terrified as I am..."

He was suddenly interrupted by Zeras, who questioned.

"Then why isn't it obvious. If I hadn't known better...I would have thought you were some inhuman machine of sort."

Haezel let out a light laughter as he spoke.

"Of course I am scared, yet I know being scared won't salvage me from the dreadful situation we are currently blurring in between.

Why show fear when you can be determined...why be scared, when you can give it your all.

Being scared, terrified and afraid is a norm accompanying all humans...yet although I am truly terrified...I am scared of the outcome...I am scared of the future.

Will I really survive...will I successfully make it to the Ancient Holy Land: the supposedly only safe place within this dreaded nightmare.

Yet I have to be steadfast and give it my all...even if I have to die...I have to die trying...I have to die as a warrior, not as a spineless coward."

Zeras let out a big laughter...he hadn't heard such words before. Those words were filled with convinction, determination and a slight hinge of...craziness.

'Truly an intriguing fellow.'

Zeras had a wide grin on his face as he spoke.

"Indeed...all what you have said is the truth...the truth of the reality we are currently placed in.

And I can't help but admire your personality...Haezel, you can choose to take this as my word or...a promise of a villain. I, Nameless shall ensure that you successfully make it to the Ancient Holy Land. Be it by walking upon thousands of corpse or by going against thousands...or by walking in a sea of blood....I am going to make sure you successfully make it to the Ancient Holy Land...you have my word!"

Haezel was currently baffled...he didn't know how to feel. Happy...overjoyed...yet he also found it weird. Why would the villainous Nameless continuously help him. He found it all baffling.

"Thanks." He finally managed to find a word.

"No prob...I can understand how you feel. Why would the villain help you. Why continously help a weakling. Am sure that's what is baffling you, right?"

Zeras said before being immediately followed by a deep sigh.

Haezel kept his head down as he replied.

"Yes, I am just lost as to why you choose to help me out of all people. I don't think I am special...nor do I not doubt that you won't get anything from helping me. So why go through all these trouble...when you won't be getting anything in return."

Zeras simply chuckled, a wry smile on his face as he spoke.

"How ironic...everyone sees me as a villain. But have you all choosen to think about the way things would have played out...if I didn't meet you guys.

Would you guys have succeeded in defeating the guardian, will you have been notified of the hypnotic pulsar wave ahead of time...or the first curse or even the second curse. Would you have survived them all.

How bad do you think you guys will fare without me.

Have you all paused for a second and thoroughly thought about the consequences of my villainous acts.

If I hadn't killed those who had fallen prey to the second curse...we would have waited, thereby waisting away our precious time...one which we unfortunately, are really lacking. All because we want to be deemed as being...righteous."

He paused for a second. Letting out a sigh of relief before he further added.

"Anyway...it doesn't really matter. I guess being seen as the villain also has its advantages..."

Haezel exhaled deeply as he spoke.

"Perhaps you are right. If you aren't with us...perhaps we would have fared...badly. And yes...we can't deny the fact that your actions are always for the greater good...yet ironically, we also can't deny the fact that it's...morally ambiguous. And as humans...with emotions, you can't blame us for seeing you as a villain...put yourself in our shoes...how would you feel...what will you see yourself as."

Zeras had a wide grin on his face as realization dawned on him.

"A villain..." He muttered as a slight cold glint flashed across his eyes.

He finally understood...ever since he had gotten the origin ability: strategic tactician.

His path had been set in stone...his path as the villain...his path of being the antagonist, the hated...the treacherous one...the manipulative one.

"The endless names...just keep them coming. I will accept them all." He murmmured with a cold look in his eyes.

He immediately started moving...each step filled with determination and resolve. This path...he would follow it to the end. As for where it would take him to.

That he had no idea of...

His brows suddenly got narrowed...as he immediately stood on a spot...coming to a halt.

Everyone already knew what this signified.

"It's coming..." His voice tore through the air.

And immediately afterwards...a pulsar wave of energy immediately swept pass all of them. All the World Evolvers felt a pulsar wave speed past them at a terrifying speed...one that was far too difficult to respond to...

Immediately afterwards...they were all plunged into a realm...a nightmare of unfathomable darkness and despair. Those esnared by the curse...well every single one of them were esnared by the curse...everyone, except for the unconscious Khain.

Those esnared by the curse found themselves esnared in an all encompassing void...a world of absolute darkness were shadows and darkness writthled and danced in tandem with each other...

Within this Abyss...time had lost all meaning.

The boundary between nightmare and dream blurring...Each breathe within this Abyss brought with it a crazy level of suffocation, despair and...dread.

Threatening to swallow the very essence of one's being...leaving behind only a hollow shell of their former self. Everyone that found themselves within this Abyss found themselves in a realm of total darkness....a world where there wasn't any light in sight.

All they could see around them is... absolute darkness. Each step they took brought them closer to a terrified state...each step taken without any light in sight...they couldn't even see their own silhouettes or shadows...it seems to have blended with the endless darkness.

Time had truly lost all meaning within this Abyss...as everyone seemed to be slowing descending into...profanity!
