IT walked along the streets of Naples.
The smell of oil was thick in the air and the streets were busting with people.
It didn't have to bother with anybody noticing it since it looked exactly human. It turned right into the famed Spaccanapoli.
The straight and narrow main street traversed the old, historic centre of the city of Naples. The name was derived from the fact that the street was very long, about two kilometers, and from above it seemed to divide that part of the city.
It stopped in front of a restaurant named 'I dolcetti di Alessia' and took a look at its 'human' reflection in the glass.
It looked like a man in his early thirties with sleek black hair and black eyes. Its skin was pale and it was tall, by human standards.
It was dressed in a white polo shirt, black shorts and black gladiator sandals.
It entered the restaurant which had few customers and it took a seat.
"Buon pomeriggio, cosa desidera ordinare?"
Good afternoon, what would you like to order?
It rose its head and looked at who had asked him the question.
She was in her thirties and probably was the owner of the restaurant, Alessia. She was beaming and it didn't understand why she was happy.
It didn't understand human emotions and it would never understand them. It was born that way.
She'd just spoken to it in Italian and it thought of how to reply.
It looked at the menu and ordered.
"Prendo il crocche," it replied. I'll take the croquettes.
"Va bene," she said and left. OK.
It looked outside.
The doors opened and someone came in.
"There's my man," he chuckled and sat opposite it.
The man was tanned as a result of long hours spent under the sun. His head was adorned with a cap and he had a black beard. He had black eyes and he was more on the overweight side.
"Where's Quinn?" it asked.
"He's sightseeing," the demon replied and held up his hand before it could answer. "And before you say anything about him running away, no, he knows what's good for him."
"That's not important as long as he does what he has to do."
"So why did you call me here, if not to check on the twerp?"
"The target's been changed," it replied and brought out a phone from its pocket.
"Hey man, I know you don't have emotions and all," the demon said. "At least change your wallpaper. At least have taste."
It found what it what it was looking for.
There on the screen were two people.
Father and son.
They looked alike from their electric blue eyes to their jawline. The only difference was that the father had unnatural natural white hair while the son was blond and was wearing headphones.
"Why the sudden change?"
"It's only temporary," it said. "And with that body you have it would be easy for you."
The woman brought its order.
"Vorrebe ordinaire qualcosa per il suo amico, signore?"
Would you like to order anything for your friend, sir?
It looked at its companion.
"I don't speak Italian but if she's asking what I'm having I'll take the same thing you got."

After a while, he reached a four path junction.
Isaac was thirsty and tired.
"HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET TO THE FUCKED UP CENTRE?" Isaac yelled.
He looked left and right and chose the path forward.
Before he started on the path, two people emerged from either side of him.
Audrey from the left and Audrey on the right.
Isaac had a feeling of what was going to happen next.
Simultaneously, ice came from Audrey and fire from Adrien, both burning and freezing everything in their path.
Before Isaac could react, a flash of light zoomed past him and there was a bang.
Electricity shattered the ice and a sonic blast extinguished the flames.
Lisa and Leo had appeared on either side of Isaac.
"Have you no shame," Lisa growled.
"Watch how you talk to your seniors," Leo cautioned his sister.
Is that what you're worried about? Isaac thought.
"Can you not ruin the mood with a lecture?" Lisa grumbled. "I was trying to seem cool."
"Enough with the squabble," Audrey said.
"Yeah, can you please mind your business?" Adrien asked. "We've got a score to settle with the halfbreed."
"Get over it," Leo said.
Audrey snapped her fingers.
Isaac expected the ice to come from her but instead it formed around them.
Leo clapped his hands and a sonic blast shattered the icicles which just multiplied.
"Let's go," Lisa said and grabbed Isaac's hand taking the front path with Leo behind them.
Isaac knew why they were running instead of engaging them.
Leo could handle Audrey but enclosed spaces only made his charism hard to control. If they weren't careful, Adrien could torch the whole maze making it hard to escape.
Isaac gritted his teeth.
There was nothing he could do.
It was the consequence.
He couldn't use his magic ever since he got hijacked by Bael. The most he could was create magic circles which couldn't produce anything more than a few sparks before they collapsed. Nobody knew and Isaac intended to keep it that way.
They took a sharp left, then a right and reached a dead end.
"Shit!" Isaac swore.
"We shouldn't have listened to Reyna's brothers knowing Audrey and Adrien would be here," said Leo.
"Here they come," Lisa said.
Isaac wondered what her charism was, then the air around her crackled with electricity.
Electricity was an unusual variation of the Elijah charism. Isaac had wondered why electricity and fire were classed under the same family, but Reyna had explained it to him.
There was a misconception since ancient times. Charisms were named after achievements of people in the Bible. Elijah was known for calling forth flames from the sky. But then historians identified 'flames from the heavens' was probably lightning. They then began to wonder if the 'fire' that Elijah had called was really fire or it was simply lightning.
The debate was still at large in the present but exorcists had decided to just classify them together to avoid conflict.
Isaac watched the electricity intensify.
"Hey Isaac, get us out of here with your charism," Lisa said.
He was about to reply when Leo spoke up.
"Leave it to me," Leo volunteered.
The smell of smoke reached Isaac's nose and Adrien appeared.
"You don't have to this Adrien," Leo said.
"Do you still think that we're best friends, Leonardo?" Adrien asked and his irises started to give an orange glow. "Ever since this vermin popped up, you've been protecting him. I don't fancy halfbreeds and anyone who supports them."
Isaac took a step back and felt his leg sink. The wall behind him shifted and Isaac had an idea.
* * * * *
Leo took a deep breath and took a running stance.
He'd done it before so he could do it now.
Leo increased the sound of his heartbeat and channeled the vibrations to his legs. He leaped forward using the pressure as a boost.
As he got closer, he put his left leg forward and kicked the space beside Adrien. The force of the kick was amplified by his heartbeat and it levelled four walls behind Adrien.
Isaac whistled behind him.
"Wow!" Lisa exclaimed. "I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of your kicks anymore, Leo. That's if you could ever catch me."
Leo's eyes twitched.
That was the only thing she was better than him at.
Agility.
Her lightning charism, which she'd gotten from their mother, could amplify her reflexes making her nimble. She was fast but did little damage, while he was the heavy hitter who was slower than her.
He sometimes wondered if she would catch up even though she was two years younger than him.
"Nice one," Isaac said, slapping Leo's back.
"Fuck!" Leo swore because of the force Isaac had used.
"One problem," said Lisa and pointed at Leo's feet.
They all looked down and saw that Leo's left shoe was scattered all around them. His foot was bright red and his veins were too visible for comfort.
"Are you okay?" Isaac asked.
He wasn't worried about his leg.
"They were new," he said quietly.
Isaac and Lisa sighed and walked away.
*****
He was glad that they had finally stepped out of the maze.
The trap he'd triggered just led them to an exit and they walked back into the mansion.
A car was parked in front.
On the stairs were Blanc, Camilla, Dominic and Ethan.
Isaac, Leo and Lisa quickly tried to walk the other way but Camilla noticed them.
"Leo darling!" she exclaimed. "What happened to your leg?"
Everyone else turned around and they stopped in their tracks.
Blanc walked over and observed his son's leg.
"What did you do?" he asked ferociously.
"Long story," he replied.
Blanc stared into his eyes for a few seconds and his anger subsided.
"Needs treatment?"
"It's nothing serious," Dominic said out of nowhere. "An ice pack will do."
Lisa squealed. "The Dominic Crest? The Angel of Death himself?"
"In the flesh," Dominic acknowledged.
"Now's not the time, Lisa," Blanc interrupted.
"But Dad! Just one autograph," she whined.
"I said no," Blanc repeated.
Camilla laughed.
