Chapter 19 - DICIANNOVESIMA: I Just Lost My Models

TIME went by in a flash.

Turns out Gomez was a very large clothing brand that touched all aspects of fashion. From seasonal clothes to different kinds of shoes. Isaac was even surprised when he found out that a day was dedicated to underwear. He felt weird when Leo teased him to try out a pair of blue briefs that were on a display.

"It'll really bring out your ass," Reyna said, appearing from nowhere.

"Pardon?" Isaac said, surprised, and his hands instinctively went to his butt.

"You've got a nice behind," Leo replied in a British accent.

"You've never seen my ass before!" Isaac said, clearly flustered. His cheek was flushed and he suddenly became self-aware.

"You literally share the same room, and I agree with Leo," Reyna reminded him. "Plus, you're a guy. This shouldn't bother you. It's we women that should worry about what you guys think of us."

With that, she walked away towards another mannequin.

"Did she just compliment my ass?" he asked Leo in a faraway voice.

"Yeah, she did," Leo replied. "I still think this would fit you."

"You make me wonder if you're gay sometimes," Isaac said, backing away from him.

Leo laughed heartily. "Chill out, it's just bromance. But you've got to admit it really is good for something that was handmade."

"It's handmade, huh?" he said and looked at it again. "Shame, it would be better in green."

They looked at each other for a few seconds and burst into laughter.

Then came the last day.

Reyna's room was neater than before, but there was a problem.

"... possible. Today, of all days?!" Reyna asked while circumambulating her room.

"What's up with her?" Isaac whispered to Leo.

"Something about her models not making it in time," he replied.

"You can hear that much?"

"Yes, I can, but I prefer not paying much attention to phone calls. They tend to have a constant ringing sound with them."

She hung up and shouted on the top of her lungs.

The doors barged open, and Audrey and Adrien came in.

"What's all the ruckus 'bout?" Adrien asked.

"I just lost my models," Reyna explained.

"Shame," Audrey sighed. "So what are you going to do now?"

"What am I going to do?" she replied and looked at them. An idea popped into her head. She had till evening to make all possible adjustments. "I know what I'm going to do. It's you guys who should know what you're abou to do."

Isaac gulped.

Reyna looked at the dress on the bed.

This was the only chance she had to prove her mother wrong. Ever since she was little, nothing she had ever done had made her mother proud.

Her brothers had tried their best to comfort her, but they could only do so much.

She had to blow everyone's mind away to show her mother that she was more than capable of achieving her own goals.

She checked the time on her phone.

Her dad's picture with her brought a smile on her face.

Three minutes left till seven.

She grabbed her outfit and headed for the dressing room where others were waiting for her.

"Dad, wish me good luck," she said quietly, and she opened the door.

Isaac looked at himself in the mirror.

He found it hard to believe that he was looking at himself.

Reyna had really outdone herself. From the seams to the texture, the outfit was nice, and he didn't have a problem with it. Even though it wasn't made for him, Reyna had adjusted it to fit him.

He was nervous. He was a full-blown introvert who couldn't bear to be the centre of attraction.

Another thing Reyna did was that she made all her outfits white, which made them stand out more among the other models.

He took a glance at Leo, who was having a conversation with his hair stylist.

He was dressed in a hooded tank top, cargo pants, fingerless biker gloves, and combat boots. His outfit made him look like he was part of Rihanna's Super Bowl half-time dance crew. His headphones were also white, and Isaac still hadn't figured out how or when he changed them.

Adrien was having a loud conversation with his hairstylist right beside him. Isaac even wondered why he and his sister were even helping Reyna, but he had a feeling that they just wanted the attention. His outfit was basically a suit and polished white shoes.

Audrey's outfit was a long sleeved wool shirt, a short wrap around skirt, and cuban heels. She had made her hair in a twisted crown braid and applied little makeup. Isaac had to admit, she was looking good.

He felt inferior to them all and stared at his reflection in the mirror. He was dressed in a long sleeved checkered shirt, a waistcoat, a pair of pants, and white moccasins. He also had a tie, which hung on his neck, but he didn't know how to knot it.

The door swung open, and Reyna came in.

All the noise in the dressing room died down.

She was dressed in a short sleeveless ballgown with an extension on the back. She wore a tiara and a simple gold necklace. A simple web shaped earring hung from her left ear, and a gold armlet circled her right arm. White was definitely her colour. The outfit complimented her hair, which was swept to the side.

The only thing that stood out about her was that she wore combat boots, but it only made her look fierce.

Everyone could tell that she was nervous.

Isaac got up from his seat and walked over to her.

"You've got this," he encouraged her.

She nodded.

The door barged open, and Tori's head popped in. He was wearing a mic.

He looked like he was going to say something important but forgot what it was when he saw his sister.

"You look gorgeous," he said, then realized what he'd come for. "Oh, yeah. It'll soon be your turn, guys."

Today must go smoothly, she thought. There was no room for any interruptions.

Camilla was at the door welcoming guests with Filip and Ludo while Tori was the host.

Today's event was for the exorcism world. Families of prestigious exorcists come from all over the world to see what the Gomez industry had prepared for them. All she knew was that she must not disappoint.

The Blancs and the Reeds had arrived at the beginning of the week.

Others chose to arrive today.

The Fox family, which headed the Ananias exorcists, had already arrived. So had the Zhang family, which was the head of the Tubal-Cain exorcists.

They were the ones that she was most wary of.

Dominic and Ethan Crest had just arrived, and her sons welcomed them in. Even if most people liked them, she wasn't particularly fond of them, especially Dominic. He tended to be cocky at times, which she hated. His younger brother was Reyna's ex-boyfriend, which only made things worse.

They greeted her with a handshake and walked in.

It was almost time.

"I'm going in, boys," Camila told her children. "Finish up here and then come in."
