Tetsutetsu ground his teeth together as another glob of acid splashed against his bare metallic chest making his skin burn but besides the uncomfortable sensation there was no visible signs of damage, "Again! And lower the pH already!"
"I can't go any lower!" Mina screamed back as she cupped her hands together and formed a viscous ball of acid before throwing it Tetsutetsu striking him dead in the chest where the dark patterns on his skin were on full display, "My quirk hasn't evolved yet!"
"Well then keep trying until it does, do you know how much metal dissolving acid costs nowadays?" Tetsutetsu hissed as his skin continued to burn. After the incident Tetsutetsu had looked online and discovered that his evolution shared the same properties as damascus steel. Using a long lost forging technique ancient blacksmiths figured out a way to temper steel by folding and compressing the metal in on itself while adding carbon creating the dark swirling pattern now present on his skin.
In addition to being much stronger than regular steel, proper damascus would resonate like a tuning fork when struck and was also resistant to corrosive substances like acid.
The exact properties Tetsutetsu needed to fight back against the horde of nymean ants that had assaulted him. While Tetsutetsu had known quirks and sometimes acted as nearly sentient beings he never expected his own to evolve to fit his exact needs and desires. In that instant Tetsutetsu mindset completely changed, initially he had thought of his quirk as a tool, something he could use and master. Now he believed his quirk to be almost a separate entity, one he needed to acknowledge and align himself with in order to grow.
'I wonder if Kenji came to the same conclusion,' Tetsutetsu couldn't help but wonder as another wave of acid washed over him. The scene of Kenji standing tall despite being swarmed played over in Tetsutetsu's mind and his hands balled into fists, 'I won't let him out pace me!'

Kenji sneezed as he entered the training hall and he looked around to see if anyone had noticed his entrance, "That's strange, I wonder who's thinking about me?"
"You're late."
Kenji jumped as he turned to face Aizawa who had seemingly appeared out of thin air to stare at him disapprovingly, "I-I was getting my weapon registered like you asked."
Aizawa's eyes narrowed, "I told you to do it later in the day, now you're eleven minutes late."
Kenji opened his mouth to respond only for Aizawa to raise his hand, "Save your excuses, as punishment you'll only get an eleven minute lunch and for the rest of the morning you're going to be with me. I want to see this new weapon of yours."
Kenji's face dropped but he followed behind Aizawa nonetheless as they made their way to an arena similar to the one they had used on the first day.
Stopping in the middle of the arena, Aizawa turned to face Kenji as the protective barrier rose into the air separating them from the rest of their surroundings, "Tell me what ability does your weapon possess?"
Holding out his arm Kenji let his chain uncoil and spill onto the floor, "I can extend its reach up to twenty five meters as long as I don't see the end of the chain."
Aizawa reached up to scratch his chin, "Useful but chain weapons require a high level of skill to utilize properly."
Kenji nodded, not refuting Aizawa's point, "Yeah, but thankfully I can cheat a little."
With a thought Kenji spread his abyssal influence down the length of his chain covering the rusted metal into a pitch black casing as it rose off the ground and floated in the air around Kenji.
"Good, you already figured out how to incorporate your quirk," Aizawa said with a nod as he adjusted his stance, "Show me how well you can use it."
Kenji said nothing as his void armor appeared covering his body in a billowing dark robe and he launched himself at Aizawa without warning knowing anything less wouldn't have come close to touching the teacher.
If Aizawa was surprised by Kenji's sudden attack he didn't let it show as he continued to stare Kenji down without flinching. As Kenji closed the distance his chain speared through the air aiming for Aizawa's head with the speed of a bullet.
Still not moving, Aizawa waited until the last second before tilting his head to the side, letting the chain narrowly pass by without even grazing him.
The momentum Aizawa ducked to the size Kenji exploded forward, arriving in front of his teacher as his leg snapped up rushing to meet Aizawa who was leaning into the blow.
Dropping down low, Aizawa ducked under the sweeping kick aimed at his head before retaliating with his own blow swiping his leg across the floor in an attempt to kick Kenji's legs out from underneath him.
From Kenji's perspective Aizawa was a blur as he moved, far too fast for him to react to, so the moment Aizawa vanished from his line of sight Kenji reached down inside of him and activated the newest feature of his quirk.
Aizawa's eyes widened marginally in shock as his leg passed through Kenji's calves without the slightest hint of resistance. And a second later Kenji vanished, falling through the floor as if some invisible layer of ice had shattered, plunging him into icy unknown depths.
Standing back up slowly, Aizawa cast his gaze across the arena floor looking for any signs of Kenji, 'He managed to copy Togata's quirk, but does it have the same limitations?'
Just as the thought crossed Aizawa's mind the floor beneath him rippled turning from padded form into a motionless black sea so dark that Aziawa felt his equilibrium being thrown off just by glancing into the seemingly endless abyss.
Unable to help himself, Aizawa activated his quirk only to find that his sphere of perception stopped the instant it touched the inky pool. For a long moment Aizawa stood frozen in place as for the first time he encountered something capable of stopping his God Eye.
'This shouldn't be possible,' Aizawa thought just as the sea around him exploded in a flurry of motion as Kenji finally made his move.
