Chapter 20 - 20. Tropical Winter

Indra sleeps like a log after he goes home. He has cleared a dungeon alone and then went to help in defeating monsters coming out of a Gate. Obviously, he got tired because it was like clearing 2 dungeons continuously.

But well, he gained a lot from all those tiring battles. He is Level 58 now, so he gained 7 levels in a night which hasn't happened for a few months. He couldn't even level up after clearing D or E-Rank dungeons lately because he's too high level for those dungeons, so it's a really nice feeling.

Other than getting stronger, Indra also gets a piece of important information. He is now as strong as B-Rank hunters, not C-Ranks. Previously he just guessed his rank and it wasn't accurate because there weren't enough hunters to compare.

But last night, he saw many C-Ranks, some B-Ranks, and even an A-Rank hunter. Now he can assess his power more accurately. It would be much more convenient if his system had a feature to rank himself and not just rank others.

He assumes that maybe the system wants him to use his own senses to scale his power. But it's really annoying and honestly, he feels that it's useless. That's why now he assumes that either Jin Woo forgot to give the system such a feature or he just wanted to mess with Indra.

Well, now that he knows he has the power of a B-Ranker. His base power is still that of a high C-Ranker, but if he uses all his buffs, he will be as strong as B-Rankers. This means he can attempt to attack a B-Rank dungeon, although he needs to be extra careful.

Those Lizardmen were powerful C-Rank monsters and maybe close to B-Rank monsters. The boss & Knights were obviously stronger than normal B-Rank monsters, and he is confident he could defeat them alone with the correct strategy and buffs.

Also, he realized another thing last night. While rank is important, understanding one's abilities is also very important. But the most important thing is battle experience. Even with good skills and power, if one's battle experience is bad, then one won't be able to show their true potential.

Experience will also affect courage, confidence, judgment, patience, etc. It was very clear last night that everyone other than Mr. Rai didn't have enough experience. They were panicking too easily and made mistakes too often.

So now Indra knows that when he builds a Guild, he needs to train his members properly. They need to have the proper amount of experience before they can start hunting properly. Well, it's a normal thing to do, but Indra has his own standards.

Anyway, his priority is to keep leveling up and get stronger. Seeing the power of an A-Rank hunter really made him jealous, but he knows he will reach that level soon if he keeps working hard. After all, he can grow stronger while others can't, so there's no need to be jealous at all.

Seeing the power of an A-Ranker only makes him more motivated. He was still taking it quite easy before, but now he needs to be more serious. Now, he swears he will clear a dungeon every day even if it's low rank, and to make sure he can do that, he needs to widen the range of looking for dungeons.

Luckily, it's easy to find information about Gates and their attack time. Everything is published on the internet and news now, so he only needs to go to an internet cafe and search for it. He will choose the Gates that won't be attacked in a day or more.

That night, he attacks a Gate that will be attacked in 2 days. It was discovered yesterday and was planned to be attacked tomorrow, but the hunters who were chosen actually helped in the outbreak last night, so they need to rest for a day.

It's just a D-Rank Gate, but Indra doesn't mind it and still attacks the dungeon. The monsters inside are Ice Golems and the dungeon is unsurprisingly an ice cave. It's a really bad terrain for someone who lives in a tropical country because there's no winter here, so he is not used to the cold.

"Ugh! Should I quit and take more jackets first? I feel like I'm going to freeze to death before I can clear this dungeon. Why would they send monsters that live in cold places to a hot place like this?"

Indra is complaining while taking out every piece of clothing he has in his inventory. He takes out the pieces of leather armor and ties them all over his body before wearing the metal armor on top of the leather armor. It's sloppy work, but he feels much warmer now.

"It hinders my movements a bit, but it's better than freezing to death."

Indra tries to do some movements to see how much the armor hinders his movements so he won't make mistakes when fighting later. After he gets used to it, he starts hunting the Ice Golems. They are just D-Rank monsters, but they look intimidating with their 2 meters tall and big bodies.

Also, even though they are just D-Rank monsters, Indra still fights them seriously. He uses buffs on himself and debuffs on the monsters. He always does this in his raid even against weak monsters because he wants to train his skills and increase their proficiencies.

The Ice Golems get destroyed easily, so it doesn't take long for him to reach the boss's room. As he has guessed, the boss is a gigantic Ice Golem. This is the biggest monster Indra has ever seen so far. It's almost 10 meters tall, so the boss room is very wide and high.

However, it's still just a D-Rank boss, so it's not very strong. Its strength and defense are higher than average D-Rank bosses, but it's nothing compared to C-Rank bosses. Still, its gigantic body is making it harder to defeat in a short time.

Indra starts by attacking the boss's legs. It surely is tougher than the normal Ice Golems, but Indra's punches still break it easily. All the buffs on himself and the debuffs on the boss are showing big effects on the battle.

Indra easily destroys the Boss's legs, making the boss fall to the floor. Then he proceeds to destroy its head and finishes the battle. A D-Rank dungeon is really easy for him now even with terrain disadvantage.

"Not enough XP to level up, huh? Even with +50% XP from the title effect and the XP bar already filled a little, clearing a D-Rank dungeon still doesn't give me enough XP to level up. Well, I already filled 3 quarters of the XP bar, so another D-Rank dungeon raid or even an E-Rank dungeon raid will be enough to make me level up."

But Indra decides to stop and goes home now. The cold is really unbearable, so he really wants to go home and warm himself under his blanket now. This dungeon makes him realize he needs to prepare for all possible terrains in the future.

"Icy or snowy place that can freeze me, a hot desert that can dry me, or places with poisonous fog or poisonous insects. I need to prepare for all those possible dangers. Furthermore, if the Gate suddenly turns into a Red Gate, then I would be doomed if I don't have enough preparations."

Indra now knows he needs to prepare supplies like food, water, clothes, tents, etc, for those kinds of situations. In case the Gate turns into a Red Gate with very wide terrain, procuring food & water can be more difficult than killing the monsters.

Luckily, Indra has his system inventory, so he can store those supplies there. Time doesn't stop in his system inventory, but it moves really slowly. He found this out when the goblin corpses he stored from his 1st raid started to rot, so he didn't have any choice but to take their valuables and discard the corpses in a dungeon.

"Sigh, seems like I need to use all the money I saved up to buy supplies."
