A sharp pain screamed across his system, his eyes trembled with the pain, and his whole body answered to the pain.
His skin crawled with burns and harsh, even if they were metaphorical, the pain was real. Very real, but a grasp held his body from moving. It was a heavy grasp that shut down any reaction.
Ellianor felt like a prisoner in his own body, unable to react to the pain that ravaged his body from within, as the voice inside his head giggled gleefully.
Even his breath was cut short, on the hands of the unseen entity within his head.
[DON'T TRY TO SASS ME BACK, YOU MAY NOT LIKE THE REWARDS YOU WILL GET. IF I WANTED, I COULD BE WAY NASTIER, SINCE YOU GOT MY LITTLE GIFTED]
The pain within his body worsened, his pupils trembled as the faintest form of a shriek left his mouth, his mouth and throat dried up, and pain deep within his muscles and nerves spread.
It affected everything as if in a total system collapse across his whole self. Blood started to drip from his nose, as The Architect watched it in silent contemplation and amusement.
There was nothing he could do, but withstand that pain and deal with it the best he could. Ellianor refused to beg, even in his mind, for the entity that ambiguously would live Kissenn to die.
The same entity that wanted her to be saved and taken care of in the first place. He still had his pride, and soul intact and would endure it instead of begging for the mercy of something cruel.
The voice noticed it, her giggle growing tired and bored of his silent defiance of her will, and her commands.
[I THOUGHT YOU WOULD CRY, WHINE, AND BEG FOR MY MERCY. YOU SHOULD NOT RESIST IT. YOUR DAMAGE CUT DOESN'T STAND TO YOUR… OH I SEE]
The burning pain became like endless insects gnawing in his flesh, a soft grasp left his mouth, as his air supply started to run short. Ellianor clenched his fists as a sign of silence.
A little act of challenge against her will, and the only one he could enforce in his current situation. It was the only thing he could do.
[YOU ARE GOING TO REGRET IT, AS I SAID, I CAN GO ON UNTIL YOU DIE. CAN YOU LAST THAT LONG, EVEN?]
Ellianor felt the blood come from his eyes as well, as his ears, and mouth, he didn't care about his pain, or how close it would bring him to death.
She had a twisted happiness at pushing his body to the limits. His vision darkened, his eyes losing its orange light, his head dizzy. Two hands fell on each side of his head, holding it softly.
"Get out. He is my friend. You are not welcome here, whore." Kissenn's eyes shone with hallowed light and a halo within her eyes,
A surprised gasp came from the voice, as her influence was forcefully uprooted from Ellianor's mind, freed from her presence as golden light and red flames burned within Kissenn's eyes.
Ellianor took a long gulp of air, his lungs burned as it entered his body, and the pain wrecking his nervous system vanished, allowing him to clench his chest tightly, gasping for air.
The light returned to his eyes, cognition brought back from the blink, right as he could not endure it any longer.
Kissenn's head fell on his shoulder, her eyes losing any sight of consciousness, as she returned to sleep.
She slept soundly as if she had not just taken The Architect's voice out of his head.
Ellianor continued to breathe hard, his mind trying to cope with what happened. '…' He refused to think in the off chance that The Architect lurked in the corners of his mind.
It was too dangerous to even think in the presence of someone so petty, there was a risk better not undertaken. Ellianor moved to stare slightly at Kissenn.
She was sleeping, as if she had not woke up. 'I am glad for the help, but what possessed you to boot out that thing from my head?' It was not a simple power.
If Kissenn could do it to everyone, and at will, she would have done that to Magnamonte and the abomination. 'You two have a connection.'
A person The Architect cared about and wanted him to protect, and how she could delete her presence from his mind… the most likely theory was a connection between the two.
Kissenn was amnesiac and could not answer a single question about her past, even if she wanted to, while the Voice was a planner, someone who worked from the shadows.
There was a link to be found between them, but Ellianor could not find the clues that linked the two. 'Kissenn's amnesia just throws a wrench in every theory.'
It worked wonders for The Architect's favor. Resting a bit against the armchair, Ellianor got up, holding Kissenn in his arms, and taking her back to bed.
Any attempt to sleep on his part would lead only to nightmares. At least one of them would get some sleep tonight. 'I'm sorry, I have problems in my waking hours, and don't want to take them to my sleep too.'
Some things were better left buried in the depths of his mind. His interactions with the voice were one of those. Ellianor covered Kissenn under the blankets and walked away.
He walked to the "living room", the first room he entered in the starship. He threw himself against the sofa with a heavy sigh as he took a sandwich from his inventory.
That night, Ellianor felt like a dead weight. "Huh? You should be resting, the Scrapyard can be… intense for newcomers, especially for such green warriors like you."
Aur was there, their eyes met momentarily, but Ellianor broke eye contact immediately, looking at the ground.
"It will sound childish, but I don't want to sleep because of the woman in my head."Aur raised an eyebrow, confused by his words. "What do you mean by that?"
