"I suggest you avoid combat with them without the presence of AUr… or other equally specialized people. They were last seen in the Scrapyard with a fresh support of pieces and equipment."
The robot simulated a sigh. "Because of it, and the nature of Scrapyard's accumulation, we of the S.R.K are worried about what may happen if they blow the largest Scrapyard in the sector, or what they may uncover over the hidden stashes of it."
The robot showed another paper to them, with people wearing mechanical coats, and wielding all kinds of weapons.
"Those are the trouble makers that generally follow after the higher ranking Terminal Slayers. I have nothing more to show, so for now, this is my last transmission."
The hologram ended as Aur shook her head. "It seems that Urien dropped a small bomb on my hands… nothing I can't handle. Nothing I can't handle." Aur whispered like a mantra.
Quickly, her porcelain-like smile returned to her face.
"This complicates things, but I think it is doable. Well, let's move out to this area's hotel. Right behind us." Aur turned on her heel and walked away.
The duo looked at each other's faces, and shrugged, following after their leader and higher up.
As she said, there was a hotel behind them. A mismatched construction of metal plates of many kinds and glasses.
Just like the rest of this place.
'Do they patch up everything they find?' Inside the hotel had more cohesion than its exterior. They used only white metal plates for the floor and walls.
While the ceiling was made of black metal plates. 'If the entire thing is made up of metal, then how does the building hold itself together?'
While not an engineer, Ellianor thought that a building made of metal was not feasible, or practical.
Kissenn looked back at the open streets of the Scrapyard, with some fondness of what she saw.
Ellianor dragged her as he followed Aur. "Don't even think of it." He warned her, and Kissenn pouted, crossing her arms.
"You can't read minds, you don't know what I am thinking." Ellianor's face palmed, the smack echoing across the reception room, as some people, humanoid and more alien, perked up to the sound of it.
Kissenn's cheeks flared red as she tried to shrink into a black hole of shame now that more eyes were on her.
"Good thing that you understood." The parents' tactic was not something he expected to use.
'Weaponizing embarrassment was not something I expected to use since high school.' Those days were strange, and radical as well. 'Kissenn continued to pout, but hid her intentions well.'
Ellianor smiled. Even if that place was a literal junkyard, at least he would have some fun with Kissenn by his side. 'I hope it doesn't become as problematic as the previous place…'
Aur stopped before the receptionist, who pulled a card reading machine. Without a second thought, Aur used her card on it and waved at them. "I booked our room. Let's go."
The black-haired man took the time to see the receptionist. She looked exactly human. 'I guess humans are going to exist everywhere, huh?'
It was the minimum expected from humans. Aur moved towards the stairs, but Ellianor saw an elevator. 'Is she not using it on purpose?'
"Grrrr." A gorna came from Kissenn, breaking his thoughts as she refused to climb the stairs, rather, she left herself to be dragged as a form of protest.
The black-haired man decided to ignore his friend.
"Do you come here often, Aur?" She was used to the place, and there should be a reason why she refused to let the ship near the Scrapyard.
"More than I would like, I am afraid. The first few times I lost a ship because of this place's nature. It is just better to go down and mingle with the locals than risk our vehicle." Even Kissenn stopped her silent tantrum to listen.
The place should be really bad if their senior lost ships to it. "Did they just disassemble and move the pieces away?"
"That was what they did until Goreas got bored and made our ships self-destruct." A shiver runs down his spine. The robot that warned them about people who wanted to spread destruction made bombs.
'Oh, what a sweet piece of irony.' He would laugh if it was not terrifying. 'And he did it because he was bored.'
"Don't worry, you guys are safe but don't engage the Crowy, or any other of the high-ranking members. They are too much for you to chew." Aur told the warning said by Goreas again.
"I know, and we don't plan to. We are not suicidal." Fighting a losing battle was not on their plans. Kissen and Ellianor looked at each other and nodded.
A repetition of the corrupted base was not on their wishlist, and it was one of the few things they would try to avoid at all costs. "Good. I will show you our room and give you, Ellianor, the spare key. After that. Consider yourselves free to explore the place."
The dark-haired duo raised their eyebrows in unison.
"What you are going to do by yourself?" It sounded as if Aur was dismissing them off to do her own thing.
The blue-haired woman smiled at him, her eyes with a faint red glow. "I'm going to talk with the higher-ups in this area and convince them to help us."
She raised her hands on a weird hand sign again, as if it meant something to them. "Consider this a unique chance to meet the locals on your end. It is going to help with your socialization skills."
While Aur did not aim her words at someone in particular, Ellianor had the inkling she spoke to Kissenn, if the growl coming from his friend was any indication of her opinion about Aur's words.
Ellianor opened his status screen, checking up on the Prowess section that was empty.
'I will need to learn a new one soon.' They would fight people with guns, and he lacked a shield too.
'Face tanking is my only option, or learning something that will make up for the difference.'
