"In this world, Mana is what allows the human to become inhuman and exceed all imaginable limits." The king of the sword kingdom said. "I assume that your world did not have Mana?"
"Indeed." Cecilia, the hero of summoning, responded.
"As expected. I had assumed so from the fact that Mana did not exist in your bodies when I first met you, though it seems that such is not the case any longer." He said as he looked at the hero of transformation, Wei Yin.
"We're in a magic world. I wanted to see if there was magic. There was." He said briefly.
"As expected of one of the 13 heroes. I suppose all of you have the talent to easily draw Mana into your bodies." The king said. "Just to be clear, what exactly did you do, hero of summoning?"
"I meditated and attempted to sense the things around me. After around 10 minutes, I felt Mana and brought it towards me." The hero of transformation, Wei Yin stated.
"That is the correct method, though 10 minutes is unheard of." The king said with shock.
On the sides, even the lightning king and the buddhist king were shocked.
"Well, let's begin. As the hero of transformation said, begin to meditate and try to sense an energy surrounding you." The king of the sword kingdom said.
Yang Ce and the other heroes glanced at Wei Yin before beginning to try it out themselves.
Yang Ce closed his eyes and crossed his legs. It was hard to focus, but once he did, he soon felt the so-called Mana.
He opened his eyes and looked around. Only the spiritual hero had also opened his eyes.
"7 minutes for the 1st one and 12 for the 2nd. Truly remarkable." The king admired.
Yang Ce understood why Guang Lu, the spiritual hero, had done it faster than him. The spiritual hero seemed to be spiritual. In other words, there was a high chance that he had meditated before.
As for Wei Yin, the hero of transformation, he seemed naturally calm and likely had a talent for meditating.
Before 20 minutes passed, the rest of the heroes had also drawn Mana into their bodies. Kui was the last one, and grumbled when he found out.
"It seems that I have underestimated the 13 heroes. Even through the entire history of our world, how many have accomplished such a feat?" The king sighed as he looked at the other two kings. They were in a similar state of shock.
"Well, that was done quicker than expected. To be honest, this is about as far as we can guide you. If we have learned one thing through our history, it is that true heroes only grow under pressure and difficulty. We will not abandon you, but our guidance will be severely limited." The king of the sword kingdom said.
The 13 heroes nodded their heads. Although Yang Ce did not truly understand why it was necessary, he understood the philosophy behind it. Diamonds only form under pressure, heroes only form through struggle.
"For the last of today's guidance, I will tell you this. In order to be truly strong, you should not only focus on a single aspect to the extreme while ignoring the others. It is not bad and even recommended to focus on one thing, but the other main attributes must not be neglected. These attributes are the body, the mind, and Mana." The king said.
The 13 heroes nodded in understanding.
"Your first day of basic training starts tomorrow. Until then, feel free to explore the royal city of the sword kingdom." The king said before leaving with the other two kings in a burst of speed.
In case they were lost, a servant brought them back to their quarters.
Yang Ce entered his room and put on the clothes of this world, which he just realized he did not know the name of. He grabbed the pouch of coins that had already been in his room and began to leave the palace.
Most of the other 13 heroes went their separate ways to explore, though there were a few groups of two.
Yang Ce went alone, and under the guidance of a random servant, soon exited through the side gate of the royal palace.
After following a short trai, he found himself at the entrance of a road. There were few people, but all of them were well dressed and walked with straightened backs.
Yang Ce felt a little uncomfortable.
He walked for a few minutes and entered a busier region of the royal city. Only at this moment did he truly feel that he had entered the city.
'This place is incredible.' He thought to himself.
Even on earth, he had never seen such a bustling environment.
He walked around, avoiding the occasional clumsy bypasser, and looked at the shops.
Weapons, potions, clothes, clothes, potions, clothes, weapons, clothes. There are a lot of clothes shops.
After a few more clothes shops, Yang Ce found a small shop in an alleyway that interested him. It was a map shop.
He walked in, and a warm, quiet environment greeted him. There were no windows, and the only light inside was coming from a bunch of candles. There seemed to be nobody else in the shop, so Yang Ce quietly looked around.
Weird shaped maps, circle maps, they had it all.
"Looking for something in particular?" A voice asked from not too far away, scaring Yang Ce so bad that he jumped in the air.
"Sorry to frighten you. You must be new around here." The shopkeeper standing behind the counter laughed.
He was an average looking man, with the only thing standing out about him was his slightly vertically long head.
"I should have said something when entering. It is my fault, I truly am not from around here." Yang Ce said as he calmed down.
"You do look different. You wouldn't happen to be one of the 13 heroes. Hah!" The shopkeeper laughed to himself.
Yang Ce decided to keep quiet about his identity and chuckled with the shopkeeper.
"Anyway, as I said, are you looking for anything in particular?" The shopkeeper asked.
