Of course, nobody was happy about it. As usual, Yang Ce did his best to resist, but it was all futile.
Soon, the 2nd part of training was finished and they moved on to the 3rd part, Mana training.
"Raise your hands if you've managed to learn a technique." The king said.
Yang Ce raised his hand along with Daisy, Wei Yin, Mark, Yao Lin, and Zeus.
Only 6 out of 13 had succeeded.
"Have any of you tried to use it yet?" The king asked.
Daisy was the only one that had tried it, and she had only tried on the training ground.
The king of the sword kingdom took a deep look at Daisy.
"Life Mana is one of the greatest mana types in the world. Having such high talent in it is truly a blessing. You can wait at the side with the others. All of you practice basic Mana control." The king ordered.
The king turned his attention back to Yang Ce and the others.
"Do you see those trees over there?" He said as he pointed towards a group of large trees. Each one was too big for even Shu Wen, the strength hero to hug.
"Take turns using your techniques on those trees." He said as he led the 5 heroes over.
Mark went up first.
He pointed out with two fingers, and a jet of water shot out. It was so weak that it could barely compare to a hose, but he had succeeded on his first try.
"Very good job. Next." The king said.
However, nobody moved.
He looked at them questioningly.
"I can't turn my mana into different forms." Yang Ce spoke up.
The king nodded in realization.
"I apologize. In our world, it is common knowledge. Imagine the characteristics of the element. For you, look and feel the sun. Attempt to imitate it. I assume it is the same for the rest of you." The king said.
The other heroes nodded.
"Alright. I'll give you 20 minutes while I help the others learn their techniques." He said as he walked away.
Yang Ce sat on the ground and began to meditate. He focused on the Mana within his body. Perhaps it was because the sun was so high and bright, bringing with it a high heat, or perhaps it was the king's words, but Yang Ce felt it much easier to convert his mana. Soon, he could feel the colorless mana be replaced with a bright, hot yellowish-red color.
Yang Ce stood up and got prepared.
Soon, the king walked back over.
Yang Ce walked up, filled with excitement to finally use powerful magic.
He stood in front of the tree and held his palm out facing upwards as he closed his eyes. He converted his Mana to Yang Mana, and followed the instructions of the technique.
Yang Mana swirled around his palm like a forming tornado and a floating ball of Yang mana was soon formed.
Yang Ce pushed his palm against the tree, and it exploded. Yang Ce was pushed back and fell to the ground.
When he looked up, there was a large hole in the tree and it was burning.
"Excellent, although you need to work on how long it takes to form." The king applauded. Yang Ce's show of power was very different from Mark's attempt, though Mark was able to convert Mana without any instructions.
The other 3 heroes went up.
Wei Yin created a whip of Darkness Mana that made a cut in the tree and began to corrode it. The storm hero, Zeus, went up and used a lightning Mana technique. A bolt of lightning hit the tree, causing nearly half as much damage as Yang Ce's.
Yao Lin went up and simply formed a sword from Metal Mana. He slashed at a tree, and though the sword broke, a large cut was visible.
Mark went up again, now understanding how to better convert Mana, and shot a jet of water at the tree. This time, it was the same speed, but somehow pierced the tree, going through about half of it before stopping.
Just as everyone turned around, thinking that they were done, Mark then created a fireball and shot it at the tree.
The king, as well as the heroes present were stunned. They were even more stunned when he then created an earth spike to attack the tree. Nobody's feelings could be understood after he created a slash of wind to cut the tree.
Yang Ce stared at Mark as if he was a monster. He was not the only one staring.
Yang Ce could not understand why such an average looking guy could show such sudden talent.
After the king heavily complimented Mark, the training session slowly came to an end.
As the day's passed, a month came and went. On this day, the 13 heroes officially graduated basic training.
"Heroes. I am glad to have taught you all. It is clear to me that your talents are overwhelming. Although not many interesting things have happened over this past month, you have all consolidated the basic foundation. Now, as king of the sword kingdom, I pass on a mission to you. Travel to the elf kingdom and, within 3 months, arrive at the capital. There, you will undergo a mana baptization." The king said.
The heroes nodded.
Yang Ce had not changed much. At most, he was physically stronger, mentally stronger, and his small sun technique, as well as his Mana control had grown stronger.
He was shocked at the mission and had no idea what a Mana baptization was, but he had a greater understanding of the world.
Firstly, they were not not humanity's heroes, but the heroes for all things righteous, including elves, dwarves, and the demi-humans.
Secondly, the elf kingdom was very close to the human empire. So close that it was basically next door on a world size map, but it was still the equivalent of multiple countries away on earth.
From what he understood, the entire world, which was simply called "The World", was around a tenth of the size of the sun back in earth's solar system. In other words, 1,200 times bigger than earth based on surface area alone.
