I woke up holding Poppy like a teddy, good thing I didn't buy one. I was still feeling tired but as usual, I ignored it, and it was finally the day I have been looking forward to. Today I will eat until I reach my limit if I have one. I didn't eat much all day so that I could eat as much as possible. No corset, no heels, just me in a dress.
Someone knocked on the door and walked in, Millie was brushing my hair as Lily walked in.
"Are you ready?" she asked and I nodded.
"I'll be out in a minute," I said, and she nodded turning to leave. I grabbed Sage's gift and waved Millie bye as Poppy rested on my shoulder.
"What's that?" Lily asked as we settled in the carriage.
"A gift for my friend," I said looking out the window.
After the long ride we got to our stop. I got down first and took in the scenery in front of me, including the alluring aroma that called me.
"Big sis," someone called. Lily looked at me and I asked,
"What?"
"I heard someone say 'big sis'," she said.
"And you thought it was me?" I said laughing.
"Sis," I heard again. I turned and saw Sage approaching us with a smile on her face.
"Sage," I called waving at her, I didn't forget to make sure that the guard was Avery. She hugged me when we finally reached, that caught me off guard that I couldn't react. "Here, this is for you," I said giving her the teddy.
"It's cute," she squealed looking at it.
"I know right?"
"Where should we go first?" she asked hugging the teddy.
"Hmm… let's check every food cart in the area," I whispered, and she smiled liking the idea, I have found my soulmate. We ran off leaving Lily and Avery behind. I know its funny for a twenty-year-old turned eighteen to be playing around with a kid who looks eleven now that I'm looking at her again, but sometimes we need to let go and play freely.
"Sage, I want to match make my sister and your brother," I whispered to Sage, and she nodded chewing fast to speak. So cute.
"But sis, I wanted to match make you with my brother," she said and I laughed.
"Sorry, but I'm not interested in a relationship for now," I said smiling. Single and forever not ready to mingle, that's my life motto. More importantly, team Avery has to make a comeback today, I have the best cupid team with me, I just need our client's cooperation.
"Too bad, but if you say so I'll do it," she said. Good, the team is set.
We continued our adventures and paused once in a while to confirm that our arrow didn't fly away, it didn't. There is a proven theory that if you leave a male lead with Lily they'd automatically create a romantic scene.
"Come here and get your harvest gift for your loved ones," a man with weird mustache shouted.
"Sage," I called in a whisper, and she turned to look at me. "It's our chance," I said pointing the gift kiosk.
"Brother, come and pick something," she said. Nice, Sage.
"Okay," he said picking a necklace handing it over to Sage.
"Not for me, for the lady," Sage whisper-yelled.
"Do you want anything, Lady Rose?" he asked, and I held my head in frustration.
"No," I gritted my teeth.
"The other lady," Sage said equally frustrated.
"Oh," he exclaimed. Somebody should hold me before I ruin the pretty face of one of the male leads. He turned and gave it to Lily this time.
"Oh, umm… thank you," Lily said surprised.
"Was that a success?" I asked Sage.
"I don't think so," she replied.
"We'll have to make do with what we have for now," I said, disappointed.
"Sage, it's time to go," Avery said, and she pouted in disappointment. "Lady Rose, Lady Lilyanne, if you don't mind, we'd have to take our leave now," he said.
"Bye, Sage, let's go out together again," I said waving at her, and she waved back as she said something to her brother. Sage, the best agent out there, she did her part to perfection, flawless with every move she made. My soulmate, matching my gluttony and taste in exquisite delicacies. The night would have been perfect if our client did his part.
"The lady is energetic," Lily said, and I wanted to differ. Sage isn't energetic, she's perfect.
"So it seems," I said instead, but my mind was already drifting to a different place. "Okay, Lily, sorry, but I'm ditching you," I said, and she looked at me confused. "I'm leaving, enjoy the rest of your evening," I said walking away. "Who knows, you might run into another of your leads," I waved.
"Poppy, are you hungry?" I asked.
"No, I'm sleepy," he said.
"You're always sleeping, don't be like that during the festival too," I whined.
"Come here and experience a life-changing event," a man shouted. "If you go in here with the one you love you are sure to remain together for eternity." I've heard this line before.
"Do you want to go in?" a voice made me jump on my skin. I turned around fully prepared to drag the person's hair but to my dismay it was the stupid… I mean the crown prince.
"Your highness," I said with gritted and curtsied.
"You recognized me today," he said. Oh, that's right I was pretending to not know him.
"No one can miss the crown prince in the harvest ball." The excuse just rolled off my tongue. How do I keep running into my death flags and flag? Its just tiring avoiding this people, can't I have the main street to myself for one day? I just need to leave and try not run into any more male leads, but that was proving to be impossible. What kind of luck do I have?
