Chapter 10 - Mithril Mine

"I imagine if you manage to find all the mines in the entire kingdom's territory. Not even all the mines on this continent and other continents. Wow, my imagination runs wild, could we retire early then? Hahaha."

"Are you interested?" I asked, raising my eyebrows without realizing it.

"Yes, of course. This is also an interesting journey. By managing and searching for hidden natural resources, we not only travel but also work to make money. Like the adventures I used to read about in books when I was a kid."

"What do you mean? In my eyes, you still look like a kid," I teased her a little, and honestly, I was glad because her answer and response were like that. Because it meant our goals were aligned.

"Hey, but I'm sweet, right?" she replied with a small smile, trying to tease me.

"Okay, let's get back to work," I looked away, trying to change the subject of this heavy conversation.

"Hey," she pouted with her beautiful face.

Since the storage warehouse was already sufficiently filled, I would try to create a gold smelting place with magic fuel. And a place to separate gold from other materials like soil, gravel, and others. Thanks to magic, I could create both places next to the warehouse and save the labor used. Because gold needs to be shaped after smelting, I immediately made gold molds with logos from another world's trading business for easy recognition. The smelting process was done by golems and magic.

The pure gold produced from the smelting process was of extraordinary quality, with the 'appraisal' skill I had created. I could assess the quality of this gold. It seemed like I needed another place to put the finished gold bars towards a safe room. Because the whole process was already underway, I immediately started making a gold bar storage place so that the golems could put all the finished gold there. All facilities have been made now; I will try to leave them for 1 day.

The next day.

I returned with Arin to the place where the finished gold bars were stored, seeing the results of the golems' work. There were already small piles of gold inside.

"Wow, these golds are so beautiful. I wonder how much they'd sell for..." Arin held the sparkling golds in awe of what she was seeing.

"I think they will sell for a lot haha. I have given the dimensional storage skill to the mithril golem leader. If this warehouse is full, they can put these golds into the dimensional storage connected to me to empty the warehouse here."

"Yeah, I can't even be surprised by you anymore."

"I'll install security alarms first, so if there's ever an intruder, I'll know and catch them."

"Okay."

The security alarm was actually somewhat different. I just placed a detection magic. If something passes through this magic line, I will know immediately. Shortly after finishing installing the detection magic, I returned.

"It seems we can leave here now, Rin."

"It's been 4 days here, time flies haha."

"Let's get ready, should we enter the dark forest?"

"No... I don't want to," she pulled the handle of my katana, trying to threaten me not to enter the forest.

"Haha, okay okay...actually, I've already found the next mine location."

"Oh really? What mine is it? Seems like I can retire soon."

"Typical, it's a mithril mine...the location is a bit dangerous. I wanted to say that, but what I meant by dangerous is for ordinary people. The area to get there is very steep, surrounded by deep ravines, but since I can fly, none of that applies to me."

"Cheater," she nodded while laughing softly.

After tidying up our belongings, we left the mine and headed to the next location. The next location was in the border area of the Siloam kingdom, with very dangerous deep ravines.

The journey there took 3 days at normal speed.

We arrived right in front of the mine location, different from the previous mine. This mine was very prone to collapse, because its structure was sandy soil. I immediately created golems like before and reinforced the foundation and framework on the mine walls to make it safe to pass through. Because mithril mines were not like gold, the mithril content was very different from gold. This metal was more valuable because it was very rare and difficult to mine, and its quantity was not as much as gold. After using my skill, I got some information that the mithril here was only one-fourth of the gold mine before.

This hard green metal was widely used to make equipment for adventurers and the main warriors of various kingdoms' armies. Usually, people with high ranks in the military would use mithril-based equipment like armor or to make weapons. Because of its excellent and hard quality, as well as its rarity, the price of mithril in this world was very high.

Since the amount of this metal was small, I only created about 60 white cold steel golems and 1 mithril golem as a leader. Just like before, I made mining facilities such as raw material storage warehouses, material separation places, and smelting places, and finally, a storage place for finished mithril bars. Because mithril was harder than gold, the quality of magic and the amount of magic used to smelt mithril were greater. So I made a smelting place with a sufficient amount of magic. Metal bar-shaped molds were also prepared by me.

Unlike before, the process of preparing facilities here only took 2 days. On the third day, I could already see the finished pure mithril bars shining in the finished goods storage.

"Wow, it's my first time seeing mithril bars like this, they're so beautiful. Look at this purity and this green color. The reflection of light from mithril also has a slight green color. With just this, I think I could buy hectares of land," Arin pressed the mithril bars to her cheeks, closing her eyes as if thinking about large amounts of money.

"I'm also seeing pure mithril for the first time, Rin. Especially this much. It feels crazy."

Imagine a pile of pure gold and pure mithril bars in large quantities and stacks like this. Like in movies where characters are robbing banks filled with hundreds of shiny gold bars. Moreover, added to that is the incredibly hard green metal called mithril. Imagining that I could bring all of this back to Earth alone already made me shiver and drool at how much money I could make with it.

These wild thoughts reminded me of Earth, making me homesick. Are my family okay? Hmm, who knows. If there was a way to go home. If only.

"Since we're done here, do we have a destination for tomorrow?" Arin started to consider the journey to find mines as a necessity. Well, what can we do.
