"I almost died for $20,000 and some shabby old scrolls! I'm starting to rethink this dungeon diver business," complained Hunter.
The nunchucks in his hands split into chains and his Death Reaper. After being healed, he quickly looked around for something to present to the guild for extra cash.
[The crowns could be worth a lot of money]
"True that."
With no hesitation, Hunter picked up the crowns and stashed them into his inventory. The more he looked around, the more items he quickly decided to stash into his inventory. He walked towards the dead dungeon master and crouched before him.
He picked up his hands and removed all the rings he was wearing, throwing them into his inventory afterwards. After collecting the necessary goods he'd sell, Hunter finally left the dungeon and made a profit of $135,000 from the goods he sold.
He could've gotten more if the hunting guild wasn't so selfish with their rates. In any case, he was too tired to argue with them and he decided to finally retreat to his home.
[Hours later...]
Hunter opened his eyes and looked at the ceiling above. His room was dark, which meant that it was now nighttime. He stretched his body and made his way into the bathroom, cleaning himself up as he did.
After dressing up, Hunter decided to go out and get himself some supplies, and a new phone while he was at it. As he walked down the streets of the city, he noticed the beautiful lights that lit up the area.
Despite the noise he always complained about, the city was a beautiful place. As a child, he's always wanted to live in the city. But, he never thought that he'd be given the chance.
After getting his supplies and a brand new cellphone, Hunter walked into a restaurant and ordered some food. After ordering and stepping aside, he heard a noise coming from outside.
He looked through the windows and noticed two people arguing; a young woman about his age and a slightly older male wearing a suit. He was shouting at her but Hunter couldn't make out what he was saying. He wasn't a professional lip reader.
The girl had an unfazed facial expression on her face. She pulled out her phone and began typing on it, which seemed to set off the man in the suit. He snatched her phone from her and shouted at the top of his lungs.
The girl shouted back, making the man smirk. He pointed at the girl while saying something, which made the girl upset as she furrowed her brows.
"Excuse me," said Hunter as he stepped outside and stood beside the girl. "Is this man bothering you?" he asked the girl.
"... Why?" she inquired.
"You didn't seem particularly cheerful the minute he decided to open his big mouth," replied Hunter.
"What was that?!" the man exclaimed.
"Plus, he took your phone and seemed to be a bit condescending," added Hunter. "Want me to scare him off for you?"
The girl sighed. Hunter activated [Prey Gaze] and stared at the man in front of him. He smiled gently and turned off his skill.
"You have a scar on the back of your head. You probably got that from an accident when you were a kid. Now, what you think will happen if I pressed my finger against that scar?" inquired Hunter.
This sent a slight chill down the man's spine. He looked at the girl and clicked his tongue in distaste. Then, he tossed her phone over to Hunter, who caught it with zero effort, and handed it over to the girl.
"I'll be back. Don't you try to get away from me again," said the man.
The girl stuck her tongue out and crossed her arms as the man walked away. Hunter sighed. Then, the girl looked at him and smiled gently.
"Thanks, dude," she said as she smacked him lightly on the shoulder. "You're a hunter, aren't you? With an aura as intimidating as yours, I'm willing to bet you're atleast a tier 10 hunter."
"I'm actually a tier 18 hunter. Well, tier 17 today since I ranked up," replied Hunter as he smiled gently.
"17? No way... My name's Eve Kalfa, by the way," Eve said as she held out her hand.
"Hunter Quinn, it's a pleasure to meet you," he replied as he shook Eve's hand.
"Hunter Quinn? So, you're a hunter, Hunter Quinn? Your parents must've done this on purpose," teased Eve as she smiled gently.
"I never knew my parents, haha," Hunter replied as he laughed gently.
"Is that something to laugh about?"
"I don't think it's a big deal. As long as I'm laughing, you shouldn't feel bad about making a joke," said Hunter.
Eve smiled gently and shrugged. "Well, thanks again for the help. That guy has been on my tits nonstop lately."
"I'm just happy to help. I'll be going now."
And just like that, Hunter walked back into the fast food restaurant and waited for his order. Eve looked at him and smiled gently, thinking about how weird it was of him to simply leave without trying to chat it up with her.
"Well, whatever," she said as she decided to walk in the opposite direction.
Eve was a very beautiful 19 year old girl with white hair tied as a single ponytail to the side. Her eyes were a deep and mysterious green colour while her pupils were slightly sharp, like a cat's.
From the distance that both of them stood apart from each other, Hunter could tell that she smelled good and took good care of herself, like any other lady would.
'Chances of me seeing her again are basically slim to none. The city's huge afterall...'
After Hunter collected his food and went back home, he sat on his mattress and opened his [Status Screen].

"Hey, looks like my Karma increased," said Hunter.
[That simply means that you did a good thing at the interest of someone else and not yourself]
"That means that guy will get what's coming to him. Though I really wish I didn't bother myself with their personal matters."
[Then why did you?]
"... I don't know. I think I had to, even if I didn't feel like it... Anyways, let's see what this new spell is about."
[Corrupt:
- this skill forces enemies under your submission, turning any monsters or person with a lower power level than yours into your very own slave. This skill can be used an unlimited amount of times]
"Isn't that the same skill that the dungeon master had?" inquired Hunter.
[It is. This tells me that the dungeon master we killed was probably a direct relative of yours]
"Like my great great great great grandfather?"
[Maybe even further than that. This means you'll grow into a stronger hunter as time goes on]
Hunter rubbed his chin and observed his [Status Screen].
"Do you have anything about my past, by any chance?" inquired Hunter.
[Why the sudden curiosity?]
"I want to know more about the dungeon master and why my abilities probably match his. Sure, [Corrupt] was the only spell he could use, but there has to be a reason why I'm inheriting more abilities as time goes on."
[Very well then. Why don't we consult the scroll of the world's most dangerous dynasty then?]
Hunter reached into his [Infinite Inventory] and pulled out the scroll System Rosana mentioned. After he pulled the ribbon off and opened it up, the scroll began glowing. Then, it caught on fire.
Hunter tossed it away from him and watched as the flame grew. It became extremely large. Large enough to concern everyone, even the building manager.
[Don't worry. The flames of the past do not have any effect on the real world. You and the apartment are safe]
Hunter stared closely into the fire and watched it change shape, becoming slightly wider. An image appeared in the fire and more images popped up. One by one, they began moving fast and displayed a moment in time.
[In the beginning, the gods created the planet Earth in an attempt to create a new species that would take their mirrored image. Thus, the humans were born. After the humans came the animals that took to the skies and rested on both land and water.
Amongst the humans, one was particularly fond of snakes, crows and cats. The human had black hair and beautiful blue eyes. His name was Quinn, the Earth's very first black magician]
