Loki gets up early and immediately dashes out to start his new training with the Guild Master. Anxious and excited are the only feelings Loki has going through his mind as all he wants is to keep learning as much as possible.
Loki reaches the Adventurer's Guild and Estrella points him to the back where there is a path that leads a long way from the guild, heading over to a bright clearing. Loki sees the Guild Master standing in the middle with his back turned from the entrance and his hands behind his back, trying to look like a wise master.
Unfortunately with his large build and insane muscles, he really just looks like he is just stretching. Without saying anything about his pose, Loki walks up and greets the Guild Master "Morning Guild Master, I am ready to start training!"
The Guild Master slowly turns, failing to create a dramatic affect, while speaking "Welcome, you don't need to be so formal, call me Chris, it'll be easier for both of us. Your training will be rigorous, we will keep going until you reach the level I see fit, understood?"
Loki straightens his posture and shouts "YES!"
Chris nods his head and continues his instructions, "We'll be going over the basics first, even though you can use a couple spells, that's nothing compared to what they can be, here watch me use stone bullet a basic spell."
Chris begins by turning back around and breathing slowly before lifting his hand forwards. Not even a second goes by and Loki notices the ground shaking as massive boulders lift from the ground. Chris thrusts his hand forward once all the stones are lifted and they go shooting towards the other end of the clearing into the trees as rocket pace.
*BOOM* *CRASH*
The trees that the boulder launched into were decimated without any hint of resistance. Chris turns around to see Loki's face. Loki stood there absolutely shocked by the sheer power presented by a spell Loki learned during desperate times, however the difference was insane.
Feeling good about himself and puffs his chest out with pride, Chris continues his explanation, "So, This is the perfect demonstration of understanding your Affinity. Having sufficient understanding would increase your damage output exponentially."
"Wow. I can imagine my understanding is less than 10%" Loki said thinking he has little understanding of his own affinity.
"Well, less than 10% is correct, however, your understanding would be more like less than 0.1% as you've only read a little about Nature and used a few spells. However, Nature is more than that, it's your entirety and the world's being. You need to feel more around you, embrace the fibers of the world as you move, breath, sleep, live." Answered Chris as he practically recreates his own experiences with his own affinity.
Chris settles down and begins his real training, with a grin he begins his instructions, "So, now that you know the difference between your understanding and mine, it's time to get yours to a higher level, once you reach 10% it'll show on your stat panel, so that'll be your first task."
"Um. How do I raise my understanding?" asks Loki excited by the prospect of hurling boulders with his current spell.
Chris begins to think of his own ways, and decided to make Loki use stone bullet 100 times/day. Loki looks at Chris with fear and said "I don't have enough mana for that, how do you expect me to accomplish that?"
"Well, for starters, take these; these are intermediate mana recovery potions they will recover 500 mana each. Drink them every time you're almost out and keep going, I'll give you 20 a day to accomplish such a task. All you have to do is complete it." Said the Guild Master as he drops 20 potions and walks towards the shade.
Loki turns to the potions and just decides to start right away, taking Chris's words to heart, he thinks about feeling his surroundings. As Loki copies Chris's motions on using the spell, there is a tiny tremor around Loki as stones lift from the ground, almost 50% larger than what Loki used during the exam.
Loki could feel the increased power from the spell and decided to launch them to trees that weren't obliterated by the boulders from before. A second later, the stones were sent to nearby trees and blasting into them, a few missing but the ones that hit were able to shred through the tree with ease.
'Now, do that 99 more times... ugh' Loki thought to himself in trepidation as he prepares to fire off more spells.
---------------------------------------------
6 hours later of shooting spells and drinking potions, Loki finally reaches 99 spells casted and as he is firing the last one, it shoots off golf ball size pebbles with still no notification from his understanding.
The area is severely damaged except for the one tree Chris has been laying against watching Loki. The Guild Master stands up and applauds Loki's tenacity and says, "Good work, you may now go back and rest up as tomorrow we'll be doing something like the same but with your stone shield."
"Thank you, I'll see you tomorrow!" Loki said running out as soon as possible to go eat and relax the rest of the day.
Estrella was sitting in the building and watched as Loki ran past her and exited to the main street with the Guild Master following shortly after. Estrella stands up and asks, "How was training, Sir?"
The Guild Master looking into space and in his own thoughts barely responds, "Huh? Oh, well, it's hard to describe, all I can say right now is... That kid is a monster."
Estrella looked towards the door where Loki left from and with a smile, although as shocked as she is, and said, "Well, lets keep him on our side and clear the path for him to reach the pinnacle, shall we?"
"Yes, we will do everything we can, but we must keep pushing him, he has tenacity I've never seen before. He has improved almost three times faster than I did when I was his age and I started a year before him." Said the Guild Master before sighing and walking back into his office.
