After 3 hours of walking, Loki reaches the entrance of the Plains of Murias. He decides to message Ignatius telling him he made it to the grind.
'Boss! I made it safely to the plains. Wish me luck!' typed Loki with the holographic keyboard that looks way too modern to be in this type of world.
(Authors Note - I wanted the cool way to type to friends with the system, don't judge, it's cool)
'Why did it take you that long to get there? Didn't you take the travel carriage that lets you get there faster?' replied Ignatius as if Loki was an idiot.
'...Anyways, talk to you in a couple weeks!' Loki typed before heading in to see what he was up against with shame written on his face.
Now, Loki needs to find a place to call home for the next while. A few minutes away from where he came, he saw a tree that was wider than the others, with branches wide enough for his body to lay down on.
Loki climbs the tree and checks it out, laying down in different positions. As long as he doesn't move too much in his sleep, it should be manageable. Now with a place to sleep, Loki runs around the perimeter, hoping to find a river or clean pond so he can wash up.
Not finding anything after 15 minutes, Loki notices the sun close to setting, he decides to find his first prey to see how they fight. After he will head back to his tree and begin the real grind the day after.
Loki realized Ignatius was right when not even a minute later he found a small rabbit sitting in the grass, minding its own business.
[Veld Rabbit]
Level: 6
Attack: 20
Defense: 5
Agility: 16
Health Points: 150/150
Having a total of almost 35 damage, its defense doesn't do much and, with Loki's attack speed, it wouldn't be hard to hit it 5 times. However, its agility could be troublesome. Thankfully, Loki invested in his agility early on so this place is the perfect place for him.
Unsheathing his sword, Loki moves towards the rabbit in hopes of getting a jump on it. Unfortunately, Rabbits have a crazy sense of hearing, and ends up noticing Loki and turns around quickly, jumping at him.
Raising his sword and quite easily shook off the attack although taking a little damage. Moving straight into a strike against it, Loki swings with his new strength from reaching level 5 and dealing more than a fifth of the rabbit's health in one swing.
-9.5!
-32!
Loki, getting used to the speed of the rabbit bouncing around, learns that if he deflects the attack at an angle, it lets him take no damage. Getting used to that took a little time after taking a few more hits. Loki started to deflect about 80% of attacks, although after 4 more hits, the rabbit died. Loki started to head back to the tree to call it a night.

Loki is surprised to see his experience bar fill so much; he remembers how lucrative fighting monsters at higher levels is. Climbing up his tree, Loki gets ready for bed and is excited to start his grinding journey to Level 10. Who knows, maybe he'll even be able to reach a higher level too.

2 Weeks of fighting many, many rabbits later...

"YES!!! Finally level 10, it definitely took longer than I thought, fighting mobs lower level than me gave me next to no experience." Shouted Loki in absolute excitement as once he gets back he can start learning more about his affinity, and hopefully his life.
Loki checks his stats.

"Phew, my stats are looking really good, I was able to keep them rather even. I'm excited to learn how to Tier up too. Why does it say ready? Why can't I just do it now?" Loki starts talking to himself as he moves towards the waterfall he found during his time training and running around many rabbits at once.
Standing in the waterfall, Loki looks like a monk training his senses. All of a sudden Loki trips and ends up falling backwards with a loud thud, it sounds like it echoes before complaining "Ouch. I'm gonna be the death of myself I swear... Huh? Why did my fall kind of echo?"
Looking behind him, Loki sees a dark cave that seems like it hasn't been entered. Since there were a lot of vines draped over the entrance that only moved from the pressure of the waterfall.
Spreading the vines apart, they reveal the rest of the cave, the walls have scratch marks on them as if there was a battle here a long time ago. Feeling a sense of foreboding, Loki brings his sword out and prepares for anything, hoping that it is nothing.
After walking for a couple minutes, Loki comes up to a bend in the tunnel, turning the corner into a large dead end cave. In the middle, Loki sees a giant rabbit sleeping peacefully and with a thunderous snore. Moving a little closer, he sees its enemy stat panel and shivers in trepidation.
[Boss: Rabbit King]

'WTF IS THIS DOING HERE????' Loki practically screams in his mind and tries to back away slowly, only to bump into a small rock on the ground and trip again, the biggest mistake of Loki's life.
(A/N - OR biggest fortune??? And I think I'm going to make Boss like enemies with 1.5x or 2x experience cause my calculations are a little too static. Look at the end of the chapter for how it'll work.)
With a snap, the Rabbit King's eyes shot open and it looked towards a presence it hasn't felt in a millennia. A small roar explodes from the boss and gets up in a stretch before making a sprint for Loki. 'RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN' is all Loki can hear in his mind at the moment.
