Chapter 16 - Hard Fight? and Return!

Running; that's all Loki feels he can do as he jumps out of the waterfall he first fell in. Beginning to run towards the plains as a large stomping is heard behind him. Having a hard time thinking clearly soaking wet, Loki tries to just keep running forwards.

Loki feels the Rabbit King unable to catch up and remembers his new pair of boots he equipped added a huge agility bonus so he's able to keep ahead very easily. Feeling a little more calm, he tries to look around for any way to fight the boss.

Loki looks across the plains and sees a few boulders close together and feels that would be perfect for his strategy. The hit-and-run tactic, using large natural objects against a very wide enemy, is to ensure your unpredictability in a fight against a harder opponent.

Rushing over to the rocks, Loki mentally prepares himself for a long fight. As the massive rabbit runs towards him and smashes against a boulder, looking stunned, Loki takes that chance to slice at the rabbit once. He finds it's rather hard to cut through its tough fur.

-48!

-48!

Dealing almost 100 damage in a second, Loki feels a swarm of confidence and decides to continue running around the boulders left and right. With every jump around the boulder, Loki is able to get at least two hits off of the Rabbit King every minute. After 10 minutes of exhausting movements, Loki manages to shave off almost 1000 HP.

[Boss: Rabbit King]

HP: 1,183/2,150

Feeling more confident, Loki accidentally pauses a little too long and an enlarged rabbit foot slams into his side, sending him many meters back through the forest.

-142.5 CRITICAL!

"ACK!" Loki coughs up a little blood after landing squarely on a tree. Struggling to move at all, Loki feels unable to think clearly. The attack from the boss deals 3 times its damage due to the excessive blow.

Loki feels dizzy from the internal damage, however, a fire is lit inside his body as his desire to survive. He suppresses his feeling of pain as he begins thinking, 'I must move, I have to move, MOVE FOR F*CKS SAKE.'

A sudden power swells up inside Loki as if responding to his determination and willpower. Lifting him up from the tree and his sword in hand, trees swaying and grass parting as if making way for a higher power. Loki charges towards the incoming enemy with a bright green shine on his sword.

Speeding towards his enemy, a sharp line of energy is shot towards the Rabbit King after he swings. The energy spans 10 meters in length and consumes all of his mana and leaves him on 1 hp.

*SHINGGG* Slicing the Rabbit King in half dealing 1,200 damage total with the swing. Loki stands there, dumbfounded, unable to think about what just happened. Getting the notification that the boss is dead, Loki feels like collapsing and decides to climb a tree with intense difficulty to rest with no danger before resting and hoping to heal quickly.

{Notification!!}

Additionally another notification came in right after the defeat of the Rabbit King, although Loki doesn't quite hear it due to passing out.

{Tier Promotion Available!}

A day and a half later, Loki finally wakes up in the afternoon, feeling groggy and a little sore, however, thankful to be alive. Loki mumbles to himself, "Ugh. Why did that thing even appear here? How did I defeat that thing? I'll take the experience though, I guess I really have to tier up now since I have 3,100 in stockpile. Now I just have to leave and head back to the city."

After a few minutes of stretching in a tree, Loki feels well enough to start heading back to Ravenport. It's going to be another long walk, but the walk would be good for Loki to clear his mind and think about his next plans.

3 hours later, Loki reaches the place he now calls home and heads straight to the smithy to see Ignatius. Walking into the forge, he calls out to the blacksmith, "Hey, I'm back!"

"Oh! It's you, welcome back. How was your journey? You were gone for a while, also you look like you went through a tornado." Ignatius asked while commenting on Loki's shredded clothes after the life or death fight.

"Ah, you know, big rabbit hits hard, no biggie." Replied Loki while shrugging, unable to hide his sluggishness.

"Big rabbit? Are you talking about a Rabbit King??? They shouldn't just appear in those plains. Besides, did you defeat it? If so, how??" Ignatius is a little stunned.

"Are they rare? It was in a cave behind a waterfall and ended up chasing me out into a forest, it really got me good. I don't really remember how I defeated it, all I knew was I was desperate to survive and something took over." Loki responded, trying to recount his fight with little to no success.

"Well, I'm glad you're safe, boy. Now go rest and we'll discuss your future plans tomorrow morning when you're feeling better." told Ignatius as rest is more important.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next morning, Loki feels refreshed and ready to plan his next steps. Meeting up with Ignatius, hoping to get answers on the tier up process to further his strength.

"You want to know how to tier up already? Alright, well, there is the Cathedral near the Lord's Manor. There, you can discuss how to receive Heaven's Recognition to become the next tier, whether you are immediately able to or must overcome a trial, depending on the person and their abilities." Answered Ignatius.

"Okay! I'll go there once I finish selling my drops. I have so many drops from the Rabbits; 125 rabbits skin and 80 rabbit meat in total, not including the claws and skin I got from the Rabbit King." said Loki as he looked in his storage ring.

"WAIT! You got Rabbit King's Claws? Will you give it to me? I'll make you a clean new sword, as old as I am, I've never used one to forge before." Asked Ignatius with a slight excitement in his eyes.

"Sure, I was going to sell it anyways, always happy to receive a new weapon. Now, what to do with the Rabbit's meat?" Asked Loki.

"You should bring it to Distinctly Lavish; they make the best rabbit stew in the kingdom. Always my favorite every time I go." Ignatius reminisced on the great food he had there, as if missing it.

"Alright, I'll bring it to Ms. Elsie after I sell the rabbit fur! I'll see you later!" Waved Loki as he ran off again with excitement wondering how much money he'll make from his gains.
