"What's that, the attack? Is there still tension on ground. Have the culprits been arrested?"
"Oh God. I almost forgot about this." She got panic stricken.
"No need for you to worry, they have been arrested. It's now time for investigations."
He dropped her at his bedroom then kissed her on her lips, her boobs and finally her forehead. He pulled the bed cover over her, petting her gently.
"Sleep tight! I got your back."
"Thank you. Goodnight honey." Kate muttered, her cheeks grew red as she called him this. She heaved a satisfactory sigh. It's such a mystery that a man she perceived to be so aloof was actually the most caring person.
She closed her eyes, preparing to sleep. A peaceful sleep soon came over her.
Casmien summoned all of his security chiefs in the army, navy and airforce. This was a serious case that even the chief of police who was on a security trip was urgently summoned from the foreign pack he went to.
At 12 midnight, they were set for the meeting with the security chiefs all present, Casmien presided over the meeting. The guys who tried breaking into his apartment and those who had assaulted Kate were brought in.
When everyone was set, the trial section began. Casmine started by interviewing the servants who had launched an attack on the palace. His security chiefs stood up to question the criminals but Casmien stopped them.
"I'll handle them."
He took gentle and careful steps towards these men as they knelt on the ground before them with their wrists handcuffed to the back, same with their ankles.
He assessed them face to face to check if he knew any of them. His eyes clashed with one of them, his lips parted in shock.
"Aaron, you're among–them?" He stammered, not believing his eyes. This seemed like a dream to him but it was real. He lifted his chin with his hand, to look at his face more closely in case it was someone that looked similar to the person he was talking of.
"It's you." He confirmed.
He turned to look at his men. "I can't believe this. This is my personal servant," he told everyone.
"My best servant, whom I trusted with most of my secrets. I thought you were so trustworthy, now tell me what made you do this?" He shouted into his ears, looking straight into his eyes and casting fear into him.
Aaron was intimidated, he couldn't speak. He tried to mumble a few words but couldn't. Casmien gave him a heavy blow on his face, causing one of his teeth to shake. He spit out blood without realizing.
Casmien grinned. No one forced him into this, he guessed, Aaron willingly betrayed him, such a person didn't need showing any pity.
"Now tell me what you went into my apartment to do. I saw you in this dress, you were the one trying to break in," he yelled at him causing his body to shiver in shock. His colleagues who were kneeling beside him gestured on him to speak with their shoulders. They were already frightened by the Alpha King's action and feared he would do worse if he didn't hear what he wanted to hear.
"I was–I was hired."
"By who?" Casmien leaned towards him, fixing his stare on him. His biggest concern was to know who bribed him into doing this.
"Who?" He repeated with another blow. The Chief of Police came out, tapping Casmien on the shoulders. The others didn't dare to step up to him in his angry moment but since he'd always taken as a father, he got the confidence to walk up to him.
"Your majesty, I hope you get a bit patient. All we need now is information, there's a level to which he's maimed and can't even talk."
"Delay is dangerous. We need to get information as to who his instructor is and why he's doing this. Sure, some other people you never expect might also link to this."
"Okay, information before violence." Casmien nodded his head to the Police Chief.
Aaron was now ready to say it all, his eyes which were nearly closing from the blow were dull and his lips were already parted, he was eager to speak.
"I was given two million dollars by your cousin, he wants you to get into trouble so he can stage a revolution against you and have you kicked out of the throne," Aaron delivered his confession straight to the point leaving Casmien in shock.
His lips as it parted refused to close back. He kept his stare from Aaron to his men and from his men back to Aaron.
"This is nothing but the truth!" His wolf confirmed.
For years now, Eric has lived abroad and would refuse to see his face. The kingship was taken from his family after his dad was caught in adultery with a married pregnant woman, this is considered an abomination in the country. It's one of the most irritating acts, the worst was that his wife was at the palace, healthy and fine. Probably the case would have been a little bit lesser if he didn't have a woman to sleep with and probably the pregnant woman was working in the palace.
However it was so obvious in his case, while the husband of the woman he was caught in an affair with was on a foreign diplomatic mission, he took this chance to sleep with her.
The moon goddess curses such people that commit such crimes herself, by law it was almost impossible for their family to get the king throne again.
Nothing pissed Eric more than this, he thought he was the right one to be on the throne and told people that whatever his father did ended with him. However the law was already in place and couldn't be changed, he couldn't come up face to face to confront Casmien knowing he's a dangerous man.
