"So what did he ask you to do in my apartment?"
"He secretly smuggled guns into the palace through us without you knowing," Aaron shocked Casmien to the depth of his heart. He thought that he was really secured, the security system was strict, not until now.
The security officers behind him dropped their jaws.
"Through what means?"
"The guns and other admunitions are smuggled from underground, for three years now he has built an underground tunnel linking right inside the palace where we meet every night. I was asked to kill you a long time ago but I didn't want to."
"I was afraid–"
For the first time, Casmien showed true emotions. The phone he held in his hand slipped off his hand as he slowly took them over his head wondering if this is reality or he was on his bed dreaming. Turning to meet the officers who were present here, it hit him hard.
"No, this can't be a dream. This is real!"
"Let's see the tunnel now," he motioned to Aaron. This sounded so untrue even when he knew Aaron was under pressure and can't be lying over something like this.
Once again the chief of police intervened. "We aren't done with our investigation sir. Please let him say all he has to say. There might be more to uncover."
Casmien, seeing that this was the truth, he shrugged his shoulders in compromise. Flipping his fingers, he gestured on Aaron to continue his confession.
"We've been training underground all these years, l have been their leader and tonight we were about to break into your apartment and take away some important state documents."
"To put you in trouble."
While this went on, Casmien folded his arms across his chest, nodding his head in anxiety, thinking about how these people could have killed him if they really wanted to.
"So why didn't you kill me then since that's the first thing he really wanted before you turned him, I guess, into letting you take away some important documents from my apartment?"
"That's what I can't let anyone hear, your majesty. I'm so sorry."
"It's personal, I don't want you dead, you can kill me but I'll not say it now. Even though I'm gone, one day you will get to know."
"Hmm," Casmien smirked, turning around to his security officers.
"You've all heard what he just said?" He called them in as witnesses.
"We should torture him into saying it," the army boss yelled.
"No, he can't be joking with us!" Chief of the Air Force said.
"Hmm," the naval boss who seemed calmer than them all breathed hard. "It's probably for good, perhaps your majesty, you just have to wait for the right time to hear it."
Casmien was really worried and filled with so much suspense but soon he realized that Aaron's heart was made up and even if he wanted to kill him, he wouldn't still say it.
Led by him, they went to see the tunnel. This was the least thing they really expected. Seeing this with their real eyes was something they couldn't wait to see.
While they were about to leave, Francis, Casmien's chief security guard, walked up to him from behind.
"We found Adrian. He was pulled into a drum full of water, sadly he's passed on."
"The doctors have confirmed it."
Gary who was present at this point, bound in chains waiting for his trial session grinned so hard, gesturing to Lina.
"I said it, if I can't kill him, others will. He thought that by escaping to work with the Alpha King, he could be powerful enough against me."
Francis who heard this just smirked, not saying a word. Casmien didn't realize what was going on behind him, he was trying hard to battle with his emotions which was getting the whole of him at this point.
Tears streamed from his eyes at this moment, he couldn't control his tears. The most loyal escort that had been with him since his early days as the Alpha King is gone.
"Why didn't I take him along with me for my birthday?" He sobbed.
When he was about to leave their presence to shed tears alone, he heard someone call his name. His heart froze turning around to see Kate and the worst is that she met him crying. He'd always wanted to portray the strongest werewolf traits before her, the only man who could protect her. Seeing him shed tears might destabilize her thoughts about him.
"What are you doing here?" He managed to compose himself, sniffing slowly so no one would hear. Before she ran to him, he'd wiped the tears in his eyes but deep within him, he was trying hard to evade another outburst.
"It isn't funny at all!"
"It wouldn't be funny!"
He shook his head furiously, seeing the tenderness in Kate's eyes as she ran to hug him tight, his heart melted. She was dressed in his trousers and shirt and palms.
While he held her tight in his arms, taking her to be his comfort for Adrian who died, he questioned her intention of coming here.
"Why are you here?"
"I sensed you were in trouble."
"Really? What trouble?" Casmien was getting even more and more confused. Kate leaned towards his ear and whispered. She didn't even finish when Casmien launched on Aaron, striking him with a terrible blow, somersaulting and hitting on him.
"You want to kill me?" He shouted, snatching a gun from Francis and before anyone could stop him, he shot Aaron in the head several times, ending up killing him.
"What's going on?" The chief of police asked.
