We had arrived at the deepest part and-
".....Is this the Giant Serpent? It seems to be sleeping but..."
"Yes Reina, I think you can say that this Giant Serpent really do reminiscent that of the dragon's." said Voila, assumed and completed the sentence of Reina's.
Our eyes met a huge Sleeping Giant Serpent that is completely covered in a shimmering green coloured scales, it's scales are thick and muscular. The big two horns on his head are curved backwards, it has two wings, four thick-muscular legs, huge talon like claws. As the serpent took a deep breath with it's mouth, we had noticed the huge sharp fangs and it's jawline is strong as well as it's cheekbones. It is so huge that it looked as if it's shadow can easily cover the whole village.
"Look it's waking up now..." said Ryuji with a stern look on his face.
We saw the Giant Serpent waking up and opened it's eyes, it was seeing us as it-
"*ROOOOAAAAAAAARRRRRRR*" it roared as it looked above at the ceiling of the cave.
"Ughh...what a huge roar..." said Voila while she covered her ears with her hands it roared.
"Be prepared everyone, with precautions." warned Elena.
Everyone, including me, drew their weapons and took their battle stances.
"Look out everyone! It's trying to release something from it's mouth!" warned Kurt.
The Serpent immediately, with speed, unleashed the dragon breathe as the flames were converging and coming in our direction.
"I won't let you hurt anyone!"
Reina thrust her spear on the ground and waters emerged from the ground as it covered our surroundings to protect us.
"...ugh!? It's attack is too strong, I may not be able to hold it. Please do something about it as I will try to focus my magic on the barrier." said Reina.
Ryuji went outside of the barrier and used the shadow projectiles, sending it towards the serpent.
"It didn't work!?"
Ryuji's attack was not effective against the Giant Serpent even though dark elements should have no disadvantage or advantages against other elements except ( including Void where Void doesn't have any advantage or disadvantage over other elements) Light magic but the serpent was not affected by it.
However, the serpent stopped it's attack as it's focus turned towards Ryuji.
"Ryuji! move away from there!" I warned him.
The serpent, with swiftness, swirled it's body as it tried to attack Ryuji with it's tail. Ryuji dodged it by jumping at the right time. However-
"Look out!" said Voila.
"Oh no!?I can't dodge it in mid air!"
As the serpent turned towards Ryuji, it used dragon breathe while Ryuji was in mid air and Ryuji got hit by the attack. Ryuji was unable to defend himself as the attack came without hint, with incredible speed and precision.
Ryuji stood up again but he was hurt.
"Ryuji, are you alright?" asked Ray.
"Not really but I will be careful to avoid this situation next time."
"Let me heal you!" Elena healed Ryuji's wounds.
Reina focused her magic energy and unleashed the huge water bubbles, sending it towards the serpent. However, the serpent was not affected by it.
"How come!? Isn't it fire type? My attack should have been effective and I had also put much strength behind my attack as well!" said Reina.
"It's really tough or maybe...." sais Voila while she prepared to attack.
She delivered the light projectiles in the direction of serpent but it was also ineffective as well. The serpent didn't seemed to be in pain, infact it didn't even noticed the attack at all and focused in it's own attack for another attack.
We had dodged the attack as the serpent's attack had less range and focused on the specific area with small radius. However, the attack was incredibly fast, not to mention it was also accurate.
"Are the attacks really working or the serpent is still immortal?" Voila was confused and spoke her mind.
"No, the attacks are working..." remarked Ray.
"What do you mean? It's not like we don't want to agree with you but the attacks are j-"
"It is working but it does seems like the vitality of the monster is much higher. The pain endurance of this thing is superior maybe. It would take so many attacks and damages to defeat it." said Ray.
The serpent moved as it tried to attack us with it's talon-like huge claws. Kurt was almost going to get hit by the claws but he managed to defended himself successfully, using the ice shield. Although, Kurt had blocked the attack, he was still thrown back to a distance as he lost his balance. The serpent took the opportunity as it launched the dragon breathe on Kurt.
"Argh....ugh...!?"
Reina jumped in to protect Kurt while thrusting the spear onto the ground as the water barriers had rose from the ground, surrounding it.
"Ryuji! Are you ready?"
"Yes!"
Ryuji and Voila combined their dark ball and light projectiles, forming the clusters of both attack as it were sent towards the serpent. The Giant Serpent was not immortal but it looked almost as if nothing affected it.
"Haaaah!"
Ray used the flame dance as he swirled his sword in a circular motion as the flames started to generate into tornado form. Ray, with his flame dance, moved to the direction of serpent and struck the serpent with his attack. The violent flame tornado assaulted the serpent relentlessly and then after the attack, the serpent looked to be a little fazed by the attack as if it made an impact on it.
"The attack seems to be working! You are amazing Ray." said Elena.
"...."
Ray had ignored her as he immediately launched an attack with his weapon to hit the serpent. The groaned in pain as it tried to attack Ray with it's fangs and claws but Ray was easily defending and dodging all attacks while simultaneously attacking the serpent. The serpent was unable to use the dragon breathe at extreme close range.
However, Ray was suddenly hit by the strong attack by serpent, where the serpent used it's tail as a heavy weapon. The Ray was sent flying back as he collapsed on the ground, he stood up again but-
"Ray!" I exclaimed.
The serpent immediately used the dragon breathe when Ray had fallen down and when he tried to stand up then the attack came near as it tried to hit Ray however-
"Are you alright!? Ray!" Reina exclaimed, looking worried.
"R-Reina...."
Ray stood up, looking at Reina's barrier that protected him.
"I am sorry for earlier, Reina..." said Ray.
"Are you stupid? Aren't we teammates? It's obvious we should help each other. Besides I should be the one apologising to you without understanding your own feelings but I hope you can share it with us so that we could understand each other."
"Haha, I see, my bad."
I was using my wind cutters this whole time but I have a disadvantage against the fire element. Ryuji, Kurt and Voila also attacked serpent.
"Take this!"
Elena used her new magic skill and sent a huge light projectile to the direction of serpent. The serpent was hit by the powerful attack yet again and it seemed to react a little bit more as if it was starting to feel pain.
"Wow, Elena, since when did you learned such a strong attack? I don't mean to be rude but it is truly surprising." asked Kurt.
"I apologise Kurt but I think we should probably focus on the battle right now..." Elena replied while she had blushed a little bit.
"R-Right!" exclaimed Kurt.
They were wondering, how did she learnt such an amazing attack but the truth was, she had a strong desire for protecting her friends and therefore it lead her to use new skills. I was yet again reminded of how she had helped me back then.
"Whatever it was but her attack was strong enough to deal high damage on the serpent. Hey Elena!"
"Ye-Yes?"
"Let's use our attacks to defeat the serpent and Chloe please try to support us with your buff skills to boost our attack and defence and use your healing ability as well. Reina, lend me- no lend us your strength as well by defending us from the dragon breathe. Voila, Ryuji and Kurt, please support both Elena and me with your attacks to deal extra damages on serpent."
"Understood!" said Everyone, including me.
This time, everyone had prepared themselves to work in a team in order to beat the serpent. I had already boosted the whole party with attack, speed and defence magic. I had no ability to increase speed and even if I learned it, it was still not effective but thanks to my hard work that my speed buff magic increased rapidly than other buff magics that I had learned.
"I feel somehow more light as if the weight of body is being removed!" exclaimed Ray.
"Yes, I also feel incredible swiftness within me!" exclaimed Kurt.
"The battle is not finished rather the real battle has just started now and I will make sure to do my best, I will not give up no matter how strong the opponent is! As long as we are all supporting each other, we can achieve anything and create an ideal world of with no pain and sufferings!"
