Present Time (Chloe's Pov)- Chloe and others had struggled to come this far only to know that Elena was going to perform the ritual as the main key to unlock the barrier. The ritual could have immediately killed Elena if she wasn't trained enough to use supportive skills of Defence and Healing ability and it would have been ended up failure in unlocking the barrier but Elena was able to perform the ritual thanks to her training before joining Libra, however she was interrupted by Chloe-
