Chapter 4 - CRENSHAW UNIVERSITY (3)

Music recommendation - Chandelier by Sia.

Every single thing in the magnificent building was beautiful, down to the elevator. It looked nice with its beautiful golden coloured walls.

Getting to the office on the third floor, as described by the receptionist, her aunt knocked on the door twice before they were asked to come in by the person on the other side of the door.

Sitting on an office chair behind a transparent office table with a laptop on it, was a beautiful red-haired lady in her late twenties. Next to the laptop was a glass cup with a bright red liquid in it.

The office was beautiful and clean with a vase of flowers next to some neatly arranged files placed on a table next to a luxurious sofa at one end with a small glass table in front of it. In front of her table were two executive black leather chairs. At the left side of the office was a coffee maker. Behind the lady was a glass wall which gave a good view of the University.

Hazel and her aunt couldn't stop looking round the office in awe. The University was really full of surprises but then again, it wasn't unexpected with it been the best University in the country.

"Ahem," the lady cleared her throat to get the attention of the two strange people, who had been looking round the office for more than three minutes.

"Oh, hello.... So sorry about that," her aunt said, she had been too focused on looking round the office that she had forgotten the reason they were there in the first place.

"It's fine, please," she said pointing to the two leather chairs, "Make yourself comfortable."

"Thanks," the two of them muttered their thanks before seating.

"What can I help you with, madam?" the lady said, going straight to the point.

"Actually, we are here for my niece's schedule, she's a freshman."

 "Name?"

 "Hazel Snow."

The lady nodded she then typed something on the laptop in front of her, before turning to them.

"Well, Hazel, you are two weeks late but luckily for you, classes don't commence till on Monday, so, that's roughly two days for you to get settled in," she said looking at the young lady with the glasses.

The lady reached over for some neatly arranged files on the table before picking up a file, "Here," she said handing the file to Hazel, "It contains your schedule and the University's rules. Do go through it." The lady advised, smiling at her.

"T-thank y-you, ma'am," she said taking the file from the smiling lady.

"Oh, and one more thing, no phones allowed on University grounds."

 "Huh.....Why?"

"It's the school's rule, it's written in the file, just thought to tell you in advance."

"Will you be fine," her aunt said looking at her worriedly.

"Y-yes, Aunty," she replied, smiling over at her aunt reassuringly.

She had nothing to do with a phone anyways, she was not much of a social media person and neither did she have any friends to call or chat with. So she had no problem with the 'no phones rule' of the University.

"I'm sure she'll be fine, all students are allowed to visit their families once a month, it's just a way of preventing distractions. You see, we want the best for all our students." Her aunt nodded in understanding, though obviously not comfortable with the whole thing.

"We'll be on our way, thanks for your time."

"Just doing my job," she replied still having that smile on her face.

On their way to the door, she called them, Hazel, specifically.

"Welcome to CRENSHAW UNIVERSITY," she said grinning widely.

 "T-thank you....you ma'am," Hazel said, bowing slightly.

And for a second, the lady's eyes turned red before changing back to its original green colour.

Hazel was surprised, but maybe it was just a figment of her imagination, so she thought. And since her aunt hadn't seen it, she brushed it off as her eyes playing tricks on her.

She looked back at the lady one last time before going out the door, she still had that smile which was somewhat unnerving, on.

 'Welcome to CRENSHAW UNIVERSITY'.

The lady's words repeatedly echoed in her head.
