Chapter 7 - DINING HALL

Music recommendation- Round and Round by Heize.

The remaining days went by slowly.

Hazel spent the Remaining days in two places: The library and her dorm room. She also went to the cafeteria to fill her belly, but went only when it was less crowded.

She didn't have to worry about about asking for directions as the University's map had been given to all the freshmen along with their schedules.

The library was a very huge building, so wide was it, that its end could not be seen. It was filled with well polished wooden shelves of never ending rolls of neatly arranged books.

The library was fully packed with students, who were either reading or skimming through the rows of books. The classes were about to begin, so it was understandable. She had decided to sit in a rather inconspicuous place, to read the mountain of books she had picked. Hazel was the type who always had her nose in the books. She simply loved reading and had decided to major in English.

The University's cafeteria was also very impressive. It had many tables and chairs enough to accommodate more than three thousand students. The cafeteria was referred to as the 'Dining Hall' by the students.

'Can things get any weirderFirst it was the Dorm House and now it's the Dining Hall', She thought to herself.

She had succeeded in avoiding the cafeteria when it was crowded.

But now...

It was Monday.

And Mondays meant having breakfast in a crowded Dining Hall.

Hazel got up as early as five o'clock in the morning to prepare for her classes. The weather was quite cold, as winter was approaching. Thankfully, the University had provided for both hot and cold water, depending on the preferences.

After taking a hot bath, she dryed her body and hair with a towel as she had forgotten to come along with her hair dryer. She made a mental note to take it whenever she visited her aunt. Hazel gazed at herself through the mirror, her purple eyes staring back at her, she could see her lifeless eyes, that had long lost its shine ever since the death of her parents. She spaced out for a while before shaking her head. Now was not the time.

She still had classes to attend. She wore a black leggings and white hoddie before putting on her black sandals, she threw her very long hair in a messy bun and put her glasses on before heading out the door.

It was going to be a long day.

**************

She was now quite familiar with the dorm house and its surroundings, though stayed clear of other students. The dorm house was already busy with students getting ready for their classes.

And as expected, the dining hall was fully packed with students, she had woken up earlier than usual to avoid a crowded dining hall, but it seemed not to be the case. With shaky legs, she made her way to the long queue of students awaiting their turn. She nervously pushed her glasses up and looked at the students that were having their breakfast.

When the queue in front of her cleared and it was finally her turn to get her food, she stared at the variety of mouth watering foods before buying her meal. She made her way to the tables, most of which had been occupied by other students, who sat in groups. Some of the students glanced at her before looking away, none invited her to their table.

She finally managed to get a table next to the door, it had just three students occupying it. She sat farther away from the students and began to eat her noodles. The food here was great and delicious and was also less expensive.

Just as she was sipping her tea, some female students sitting a table from hers were chatting amongst themselves and giggling loudly.

"Did you see him? Oh, he looked as delicious as always," A blonde haired girl said to her friends, who were listening to her with rapt attention.

"No I didn't, I was polishing my nails, you could have tapped me, you know," She said, envy evident in her voice. She was a brunette and had fake eyelashes on.

"I did, you were just too engrossed in what you were doing, Kim, it's not my fault."

"Arghh, I wish I was there, how could I have missed such a sweet sight," another girl with her hair dyed pink chirped in, having a regretful look on her face.

"You would have seen him, if you had not taken forever in getting your make up done," another girl with a black hair and green eyes said with an eye roll.

"Well, I don't care if you had seen him, Claire, he's mine so every one of you should stay clear of him." One of the girls who had been quietly having her meal said while looking at her friends with an air of arrogance. She seemed to be the one who had the final say, she was also a blonde like the girl she had referred to as Claire, only hers was longer. She was pretty, with a face heavily made up.

"Yeah, yeah. He's all yours Clarrisa, we all know that." Claire said sarcastically, with an eye roll before continuing with her meal.

"Did you see Amiel?" The green eyed one said to Claire.

"I pretty much saw all of 'em, Alison, they are always together you know. I think they arrived yesterday, they all looked good, especially Johansen." Claire said with her heart in her eyes.

"Yeah, you're right. Speak of the devil, well devils. Muscle up buttercups, they're here!" Alison announced to her other friends who immediately looked at the entrance of the dining hall.
