He looked down on everyone, as he stayed floating in the sky while the rain still poured heavily. In this situation the only normal person was Eiko. By that point, Shiro had finally passed out.
"It appears that I was late by quite a bit. Sorry little miss, but it's my turn to save you two now."
Upon a closer look, Eiko recognized the man, as the person Shiro saved in that dark alleyway. Her confusion spiralled into more questions, but all she did know was that herself and Shiro would finally be safe.
The murderer shouted, "So you guys at the S.N.A.D have finally found me huh? Asclepius warned me about people like you. Others with Psychic powers who would try to suppress us and our desires."
The Weather responded, "Ikumi, You are under arrest for the murder of 30 people as well as the misuse of your psychic powers. Since you have information that the organization would like, you won't be given an immediate death sentence. However, if you choose to resist I won't hesitate to use great force."
"My psychic power is invincible! If you get in my way then I will just cut you up!"
As he said that, he threw his butcher knife at the still-levitating weatherman, causing it to spin like a boomerang. Halfway through its flight, however, the weapon halted suddenly before falling to the ground. Weatherman then slowly fell to the ground, gently landing on his two feet, still holding his open umbrella.
Ikumi was panicking. He had never fought against a stronger psychic.
"With my power, anything can become a weapon!"
He then pulled apart multiple wet blades of grass, from the earth while charging towards, Weatherman. But suddenly he teleported behind him somehow, before slamming his now closed umbrella against the side of Ikumis' body.
This caused the murderer to tumble through the wet earth as he struggled to regain his footing. Once he stood back up, Weatherman was now pointing his umbrella at him while saying,
"Perish!, thunderbolt!"
A powerful blast of Yellow thunder then echoed from the skies above landing on top of Ikumi. As the blast of raw power struck him he screamed in pain, while his body was being fried. The light from the attack was so bright that Eiko had to close her eyes to shield herself.
When the attack finally ended, the only thing that remained, was a pit of burnt grass, which the unconscious Ikumi laid on top of. The ends of his clothing were burnt and singed, but he was still alive yet barely breathing.
Weatherman then danced while skipping like a child as he cheered, "I always wanted to say that. It sounded so cool, wouldn't you agree?"
The unconscious body didn't reply. When he picked him up by the collar he then said to Eiko,
"Both my hands are a bit full right now so I can't take him with me. But when your boyfriend decides to wake up tell him that, 'Weatherman will come back for him'.
The sounds of police sirens then buzzed in the distance, urging the man to make his escape. He then appeared to be jumping in the air as he quickly disappeared into the distance. As he left, the rain seemed to get lighter and lighter until it finally disappeared.
Eiko then shouted while blushing intensely,
"HE ISN'T MY BOYFRIEND!"
11:00 pm June
Shiro awakened in the hospital he once again found himself asleep on that familiar bed. He stretched his hand towards the sky while feeling an uncomfortable pain in his joints. As he opened his palm he wondered,
"Are you okay Eiko?"
He waited for a while for something to happen, and then Doctor Kyobi suddenly bursted through the door. He scolded Shiro,
"I thought I told you two to be back by 6:00. Now look what you've done!"
He sulked for a bit before he quickly asked Kyobi,
"Is Eiko okay??? What happened to the butcherer??"
"Eiko is probably at the Heiwa police department right now, she was taken in for questioning because of the considerable amount of blood stains that were found around the crime scene. And as for the butcherer, he has apparently just disappeared. He didn't leave behind his usual traces this time, so it's likely that he's gone for good."
Shiro breathed a heavy sigh of relief until Kyobi then asked him a question which made him flinch considerably.
"Shiro... Are you okay? I was able to swipe away a little bit of the blood from the school before the police blocked it off. When I analyzed who it belonged to I found out that it was yours. However, when I checked your blood pressure, it was completely normal. Any other human which would have lost that much blood should have been dead by now, yet for some reason you don't have a single scar on you. Can you please tell me what happened?"
Shiro then became visibly stressed, he wasn't quite sure what kind of answer he should give him as he wasn't sure himself. Kyobi seeing this breathed heavily before saying,
"Someone claiming to know you has appeared. He seems like a suspicious guy though, he is waiting outside the room right now. Would you like me to bring him in?"
As he said this Shiros' face immediately brightened as he shouted in excitement,
"YES!"
Kyobi then left the room while shutting the door behind him. Shiro could hear the muffled sounds of two men talking for a while. But then the door suddenly opened to reveal a familiar-looking person. He entered the room before quickly shutting it not letting Kyobi inside. Seeing this the Doctor sighed before going to take a smoke break outside.
He thought, "Maybe Gravity doesn't favour me today..."
The familiar-looking person on the other hand used a currently closed umbrella as a walking stick. He wore a dark blue trench coat and red beanie which Shiro recognised as belonging to the homeless man that he saved the other day. But now this person wore a clean-looking suit underneath it all.
He grabbed a nearby chair, before sitting down next to Shiros' hospital bed. He then asked Shiro,
"Do you remember me?"
"You are that homeless guy that I saved the other day?", Shiro replied.
Comedically, he fell onto his chair while landing on his head, as the response caught him off guard. He thought, "I can't believe he still remembers me as that guy!"
The man quickly got back onto his chair, while clearing his throat. He then said, "I can't give you my real name as of now, however, I'm happy that you call me by my code name, Weatherman."
Shiro asked in confusion, "Like a spy??"
"Whatever you want to think kid." He responded.
"There are 2 things that I need to ask you, and after that, there is a choice that you must make. The Doctor told me that you had amnesia? Are you aware of the supernatural?"
Shiro thinking carefully asked, "Like spirits and stuff? After what the butcher guy said, I partially believe in people who are gifted."
Weatherman breathed a sigh of relief and said, "That makes things easier for me then. Spirits, Ghosts, psychics and even gods exist in this world. There aren't a large number of them however there are enough to cause problems. Among the entire human race, there are less than a million spiritually aware people. And only a couple thousand of them actually possess psychic powers. you and me are among those psychic power-possessing people. Everyone who possesses psychic powers has a unique trait. Yours appears to be a form of regeneration?"
Shiro was a little stunted at what he had said. It was a lot to take in, but then he thought,
"What if it was an evil spirit that stole my memories?? Was I buried under than sand as some kind of a trick??"
Weatherman continued, "That guy called Ikumi also known to the public as the butcherer has been taken into custody by the Supernatural National Affairs Department (S.N.A.D). They are the governing authority of Japan that monitors and deals with supernatural issues that take place within the country."
He then pointed at the armband on his right arm while speaking, "In that department, there is a team of psychics called, the Psychic Execution Squad (P.E.S) which I 'm a part of. We are tasked with dealing with any psychic power-possessing humans who may use their power in front of ordinary people. I came here from Tokyo to accomplish three tasks. The first is to apprehend the Butcherer of Heiwa, which you have helped me achieve. The second task I can't tell you, but the third has to do with the first question which I will ask. Are you ready?"
Shiro in anticipation shouted, "YES SIR!"
Weatherman said, "Has a man called Asclepius offered you any kind of drug claiming to unlock your third eye?"
"No." Shiro bluntly said.
He continued, "This drug is very dangerous. It's capable of unlocking a normal human's psychic power but at the cost of their sanity. Ikumi had taken this drug and as a result, he became that famous serial killer. The third task which I received was to find and apprehend this man in hopes of reducing his drug into extinction. The second thing I would like to ask you is if you had felt any kind of random uncontrollable urges?"
Shiro remembered what Ikumi had said to him, "Those eyes that you possess. You're a killer just like me."
He still wasn't sure what to make of those words but with slight hesitation, he told Weatherman, "No."
Weatherman could hear the hesitation in his voice but disregarded it anyway, "Since you have answered all my questions, it is time that you made your choice. You're either going to stay in Heiwa and live a quiet peaceful life with that girlfriend of yours, or you're gonna come back to Tokyo with me and join the S.N.A.D."
Shiro thought for a long while. If he joined S.N.A.D then he may be able to re-discover his lost memories. But at the same time, it would mean leaving Eiko behind which he did not like. He knew that if he left then Eiko would surely be very upset.
As he pondered this, Weatherman placed a folded note on the table. He then said,
"I will at least give you a day to think it over. Once you're ready call that number, or I'll come find you myself."
He then left the room leaving Shiro behind with even more questions. To distract him from those thoughts though, he decided to binge watch the TV until he fell asleep.
