"Jada…"
The girl gave a quick response with a small smile appearing on her face.
They both stared at each other for a second before laughing out loud confused as to why they did that. Nancy watched as Jada looked around her room.
From her baggy pants and oversized shirt, you could tell she's the kind of person that always stood out in a room full of people.
"So why is my mom trying to link me up with a pretty girl like you? I imagine someone like you being out right now and not in looking so…." Jada paused and looked back at Nancy.
"Weary…" she added.
Strangely Nancy felt so calm, she might have met Jada minutes ago but she seemed like a honest and straight forward person.
"I just moved here and I have not made much friends".
"You have been here for how many days?", Jada interrupted
Nancy raised her eye brow and let out a chuckle.
"Two weeks", she responded.
Jada picked up the frame on the table and could see little Nancy and her parents. For some reason she did not want to ask about her parents. Other people would've tried to pry but Jada didn't. She appreciated that about her.
"So you are telling me you have been here for two weeks, probably in school and you have no friends? That's odd. Did you decide not to have one?", she asked giving her a confused yet interested look.
Nancy shrugged with a soft chuckle.
"So what's bout you? Why is your mom trying to link you with me, you don't have friends?"
Jada was not suprised at the question, she was expecting it.
"I have one now", she responded with a gentle smile.
The two girls made direct eye contact and smiled. This felt right for some reason and Nancy was just glad for this moment.
There was laughing and a lot of chuckles coming out of Nancy's room, so loud that Aunt Kat and her friend could hear.
"I knew it would work…", Mrs. Williams, Jada's mom said as she sipped on the whiskey from the snifter glass.
Aunt Kat sat in silence for a while before responding. She was so focused on puffing and inhaling the cigarette that she forgot to give her friend a reply for few minutes.
"Nancy needs it, always coming home without no one beside her, today she looked like she had a fight and I tried making a joke out of it but she seemed not to have it, she never wants to talk to me" Aunt Kat finally said with a sad look in her eyes. She remembered how She and Nancy were so close when Nancy was a little girl. It hurt her knowing things would never be the same again.
Mrs. Williams let out a soft laugh completely oblivious to the sadness in Kat's eyes
"I am serious, I tried to not let her think about my sister and her husband by not talking about it or saying anything relating to what had happened, but it is not working… imagine a girl her age spending every weekend at home! She'll be twenty in a few months. I don't know what else to do". She said with a sigh and sunken expression
"Maybe she needs to feel and then let go", Mrs. Williams gave a reply which made Aunt Kat turn to her.
"Yes, let her feel… sometimes it is important to feel things, then let go when you feel in your heart that you're ready. I'm sure it'll be easier now that she's getting along with my daughter. I bet she would let go as fast, we made the right decision", Mrs Williams added.
Aunt Kat blew out the smoke,The puff came out of her lips and nostrils, before nodding in agreement
Nancy and Jada were both on the bed talking about highschool when Jada asked her a very personal question.
"Why isn't Aunt Kat married or was she married before?",
Nancy always knew Aunt Kat's greatest sadness, she has heard her mom saying it to her dad some years ago and she never tell anyone or asked any question ever since then.
It is not a problem telling Jada, her mom probably know about it since she is friends with her Aunt Kat.
Jada stared at Nancy for a respond.
"She cannot have a baby", Nancy said in a low voice, she also saw how Jada's expression changed almost immediately, she immediately felt bad for asking.
"Oh I'm sorry, don't let us talk about that then… so tell me pretty girl, who is eating you out?", Jada asked trying not to laugh.
Nancy burst into laughter, she knew what Jada meant but she did not want to be too forward.
"Wait… are you asking if I have a boyfriend?", she repeated.
Jada could not control her laugh anymore, she and Nancy burst into laughter again.
"Who is eating you out? Huh...",Nancy said in a mocking voice, letting out another laugh. "That is probably the most hilarious thing I have ever heard" she added.
This is what she needed at that moment, she was so filled with emotions before Jada walked in and ever since she has been so calm and full of happiness, maybe this is what she needs.
"I don't…."
"Wait why did I not notice your hair?" Jada interrupted.
Nancy eyes widened as she totally forgot her hair, she flew up. "I literally forgot, need to wash it out with shampoo", she said as she walked towards the door.
Jada followed.
They both walked out and towards the bathroom and Nancy immediately spotted her shampoo, Jada stood there and watched as Nancy took out the remaining paint off her hair.
After a while, they both walked in Nancy's room.
"Some girls mistakenly threw paint at me earlier today…", Nancy said as she dried her hair with her towel.
Jada shook her head.
"You said you go to Westwood?, heard there are lot of a***holes in that school! I choose my school and avoided Westwood, it is a whole jungle out there girl", Jada said.
"I had no idea, and I bet my Aunt did not know too, well that is where I would graduate, I have to manage", Nancy answered as she tried to brush her dried hair.
Jada stared down at her phone as it beeped.
"Is that TikTok?", Nancy asked while sitting on a chair opposite Jada.
Jada nodded yes, "TikTok is like all what I do… but now I won't have to get glued up to my phone anymore…" she answered wiggling her brows at Nancy.
Nancy gave Jada a satisfying look.
Jada stared at her phone for a while before looking up at Nancy who was already staring at herself through the mirror.
"There is a house party going on right now! At the twins house, look" Jada said as she showed Nancy her TikTok.
Nancy was indifferent about it, she gave Jada a direct eye contact without staring but minimal blinking. As if she knew why Jada was telling her about the party, she gave no response.
"Ohhh damn, almost every hot guys in Westwood, Greenville and my school are there! Holy sh**t lot of abs", Jada exclaimed as she kept staring at the screen.
The hot guy she had seen in the bathroom immediately popped up her head after hearing the Westwood hot guys would be there, Nancy instantly gave the party a thought while thinking about the cute blonde.
"Wanna go?", the two girls chorused.
They stared at eachother and gradually their face turned into a wide grin.
All what was on Nancy's mind and the only reason she want to go is the strange hot bathroom guy, the urge to see him again took over her whole mind and this instantly increased her heartbeat, which turned to nervousness.
"I want to see him again".
