Nancy followed Tara's direction, she looked carefully and at the same watched her steps as some teenagers had slept off on the floor while some puked on the floor.
She knew standing at the alcohol spot and not moving was the best option she had made since getting to the party, it was such a mess on her way to the bathroom.
Finally, she saw two girls coming out of a door that she had assumed to be the bathroom.
She walked towards it but before walking in she looked up to confirm it was a female bathroom but there was no sign.
Nancy groaned as she looked around, not having many choices as she could feel the pee so close. Besides she also just saw two girls come out of it so it was probably boys-free right now, hopefully.
She hurried in and shut the door behind her.
Nancy got in and was as fast as she could be, hoping no guy knocked on the door or came out of nowhere, after she was done with everything, she opened the door ready to go out when she got a beep on her phone.
She brought out her phone as she proceeded to open the door.
Still staring at her phone as she walked out, she saw a text from her Uncle Rob from New York asking how she was doing and telling her that he'd visit if he had free time next weekend.
Standing one foot away from the bathroom, she replied.
"Of course Uncle, I would be so happy to see you again", she hit sent and finally looked up.
And there he was, standing a few feet away from her, staring at her.
Her heart dropped, and she immediately felt an electric wave travel all through her bones, she had never known that could happen to her from seeing someone. He always appeared when she was not expecting to see him, and even though he was the reason why she was present at the party, she still wasn't expecting to see him right now, right here.
Her heartbeat was fast, loud enough that she could almost hear, and her hand dropped.
They both held direct eye contact.
Nancy did not know what it was but she felt so good, whatever was happening felt good, there was a spark there and she knew it.
Nolan thought feeling sparks only happens when you know someone for a long time so why did he feel something for someone he did not even know? He didn't even know her name but she occupied his mind.
After a moment, he took a step forward and put his hand in his pocket.
"It looked like you got the right bathroom today, miss", he said.
Nancy missed that raspy voice, she had heard it earlier in the bathroom, and now again, she finally blinked and glanced around.
"Do you live in bathrooms? Earlier I saw you in the school bathroom and now you're outside this bathroom, why?", Nancy blurted.
She had no idea why she said that, but she felt she had to say something and what she had just said sounded so stupid to her ears, she was so nervous that she spoke without thinking about it.
Her palms got sweaty as she felt his eyes on her, and she tried hard to avoid another eye contact with him.
He chuckled at her words.
Nancy looked at him, worried if that chuckle was a mock or he genuinely found what she said funny.
"No I don't live in bathrooms, you know you're right...", he said and folded his arms, "It is kind of weird how we always meet in bathrooms", he added and noticed her shift her weight from one foot to the other.
'She's nervous", he thought.
Without knowing the real reason why she was nervous, he wondered if she also feels the way he feels towards her. Could it be that she feels uncomfortable because he's a guy or is it about earlier? Is she still weirded out seeing him in the bathroom?
He bites his lower lips gently and looks away, not knowing what to do or say anymore.
Now he's the nervous one.
"What is your name?… I remember you ran off before I could ask you that earlier", Nolan asked.
Nancy looked at him and saw his pretty green eyes staring back at her. If only she could listen to what her mind was telling her at that moment, she would be following Jada's advice and pulling him into the bathroom.
He looks so handsome, she can never get tired of seeing his face even after a thousand years.
Nancy forgot he asked a question, her wild thoughts took over.
His hair looked a bit ruffled but it still looked so hot. She had to resist the urge to run her fingers through it. He stared back at her waiting for her reply and wondering why she kept staring and not answering.
Nolan realized he could not understand what was going on in this stranger girl's mind, a few seconds ago she looked nervous now she was staring at him and not looking away.
He kinda liked it, staring into her eyes.
"Ummm hi?", Nolan finally said and as if she just returned back to her body, Nancy blinked repeatedly and cleared her throat.
"Nancy…".
He felt relief to finally know her name, unlike other girls he had asked for their name, he knew he would never forget her name, since the thought of her would not leave his mind.
Nolan nodded and smiled gently.
"Nolan", he said and took a step back before turning to leave, still smiling.
Nancy stood there and watched him leave, what just happened felt like a dream. When has talking to a guy felt so dreamy, she thought and kept watching him walk down the stairs.
When she noticed it was getting hard to see him, as he had walked farther from her, she took steps forward and looked downstairs if she could see him again.
She saw him still walking among the crowds.
Nancy smiled and held her chest as it was still beating heavily.
The smile dropped gradually as she noticed a girl hugging Nolan from behind, and he had also turned and held her hand.
Nancy looked away immediately and turned her back.
"What was I expecting? Ugh",She soliloquized, face palming herself and rolling her eyes. He's like the hottest guy in school! I can't let my guard down and become delusional over him." She sighed and walked away.
Nolan looked up and saw her walking away, he could still feel his heart beating from having to stare into her eyes, no matter how much the girl in front of him right now was laughing and trying to talk to him, he couldn't stop himself from thinking about Nancy.
