Saturday morning in Aunt's Kat house was a different type of day, because this time Nancy wouldn't be going to school and she had to deal with her Aunt's unacceptable behavior.
The girl had received a call early morning from Jada who told her about how she had seen the girl she met at the party on Instagram and how they both had been chatting.
"Jada, you are calling me at 6 am in the morning to tell me this", Nancy complained, in a low groaning voice.
"Oh, it is 6? Damn! I should be sleeping right now, I just realized we have been talking all night…", Jada had answered before ending the call.
Nancy could not get herself to sleep after the call, she had struggled to go back to bed since her friend had ruined her sleeping schedule and she was not mad about it, Jada was in love and she would have done the same. Only if Nolan isn't a playboy.
She lay down on her bed staring at the ceiling and kept imagining how they had stared at each other the first day they met in the bathroom.
There was something about his eyes she could not just explain, it seemed real, and the kind of look Noah Calhoun had given Allie Hamilton in the Notebook movie, how could he stare that way and still love girls' company?
"Does he also look at other girls the way he stares at me", She thought as she tried thinking of how he looked at the girl that had hugged him from behind at the party but she could not picture it in her head.
After two hours of thinking about Nolan and had come to no conclusion, she got up and walked out of her room.
She was on an old black underwear she had gotten a year ago and a black top.
Yawning as she approached the kitchen and looked around to see what she could make for herself, the approaching footsteps made her turn immediately.
Nancy was relieved after seeing it was her Aunt and not some half-naked man.
"Why are you shocked? Am I that ugly looking in the morning?", Aunt Kat asked as she joined Nancy in the kitchen while her eyes searched for the cereal she had kept somewhere in the kitchen.
Nancy shook her head and passed the cereal to her Aunt, giving the lady an unimpressed look.
"Oh come on Nancy, It is so early in the morning to give me that look, what did I do this time? It is 8 in the morning!", Aunt Kat's said as she poured herself some cereal.
"I saw a man in our kitchen a few days ago Aunt, that was not nice…", Nancy answered.
Aunt Kat stood there and ate her cereal as she watched her niece sit on a chair.
"I was so knocked out that day and I asked him to cook for you, he was super happy to make you bacon that day but it was a good thing you didn't get to eat that tasty food, I enjoyed it", Aunt Kat's said smiling at his niece who was not having it.
"Stop being mad at me every time Nancy, really!", Aunt Kat put down her cereal and folded her arms, "I understand you are still not fully yourself after the whole accident… and I know my house is the last place you want to be, but I am trying Nancy, to not make you feel sad or think about anything".
Nancy had never seen her Aunt that seriously since she moved in, her worried face and repeated blinking made Nancy feel bad.
She took a quick glance at her aunt and then away.
"I understand but the man was half naked, the apron didn't count… making me food, if you wake up and see that scenario, would you eat the food?", Nancy askeded, now looking at her aunt for a response.
"I will sit and eat it", Aunt Kat answered.
Nancy was expecting a different response but this was Aunt Kat, she would never make sense.
The girl chuckled and shook her head.
"You are crazy", she said as she watched her Aunt eat.
"Should I make bacon?", The lady teased while wiggling her eyebrows at Nancy.
They both laughed.
After a long while, Aunt Kat made breakfast for both her and Nancy and that morning was totally different from other mornings, she had talked with Nancy and laughed all through their conversations and this had not happened since Nancy was young.
"So who do you like more, Jada or Tara?" Aunt Kat asked as she set the table while Nancy put the plate of bacon and eggs on the table.
Nancy gave her Aunt a surprise look.
"What do you mean? They are both my friend, why should I choose? I like them both. They have both been the best so no I am not choosing, thank you very much", Nancy answered with a little giggle.
She always knew her Aunt was not a bad woman, it was just her new ways that bothered Nancy, and she had an idea it could be for one reason, the only sadness in her Aunt's life.
The girl has chosen to not talk about it.
"What? When I was in high school, I had a lot of friends and I knew my favorite, in fact, I had a lot of boys and I knew my favorite… you should be like your Aunt, do not love one boy".
Nancy snorted as she kept eating, shaking her head at her Aunt's poor advice.
"You will never get heartbroken that way", the lady added.
"Thank you very much for your advice! I will make good use of it…", Nancy answered, trying to not burst into laughter.
Aunt Kat smiled, this was all she had wanted since Nancy stepped into the house, to be there for her and make sure she did not turn into a sad teenager.
"I know you won't listen", the lady said which had made Nancy finally burst into laughter.
