Nancy leaned against the table filled with alcohol, she glanced around and saw how everyone was enjoying themselves. Jada had left a few minutes after coming out to her to find the pretty girl.
Anyone who saw Nancy standing alone would think that she's shy or not enjoying the party but to Nancy, she was having a blast just standing there, it had been forever since she was at a party surrounded by teenagers trying to get drunk.
She did not regret coming out with Jada and even though she had left her to find the girl, she was not mad about it but instead taking her time watching everyone at the party.
"Who is that brunette standing alone there? She seemed lonely, and I love lonely girls", one of the twins said, sitting At a far distance from where Nancy was.
The group of boys sat in a group with alcohol on the ground, scattered cups, and girls sitting on two of the boy's laps.
The twins sat next to each other shirtless, and next to them was the school sweetheart, Nolan who happened to be the twin's best of friends.
He looked up on hearing one of the twins comment on a brunette.
He immediately saw Nancy across the room.
Nolan was not expecting to see her again, not at the twins' party, she seemed like the reserved type that loved being indoors rather than going out but his assumption was wrong. Although a girl sat next to him trying to get his attention, Nolan's eyes were fixed on Nancy.
"I will get her on my bed tonight, 3000. Who's betting?", one of the twins said again as he downed the rest of his drink. He threw the cup farther away and licked his lips.
Nolan took his eyes off Nancy and looked at his friend.
"She looked too pretty to accept your offer, quit it you will lose this bet", his other twin added and they all laughed except for Nolan who forced out a smile.
"I bet 5000 grand, she would not follow you in the bedroom", another guy added.
This was a normal conversation for Nolan and his friends but for some reason, he was not having it this time.
He looked away, back at Nancy but this time she was not alone, a guy was standing right in front of the girl talking to her.
"Oh guess you lost your bet before even starting… someone else got her", another guy mocked.
"Bummer, I should take her away from him", the twin said not giving up, he was about to stand when Nolan finally opened his mouth to talk.
"Just leave her, there's lots of fishes for you tonight, you know that, even without trying they are lining up to talk to you", Nolan said.
"He is right! Ain't got time for her, I got lots", he accepted and pulled a girl closer to him to sit on his lap.
"Do you want to go make out outside, I don't like it here", the girl next to Nolan said as she pulled his face towards her trying to have a kiss.
Nolan immediately recoiled, he let go of his hand from her grip and gave a warm smile
"Let us just step out and get some fresh air, not in the mood to make out right now", he answered and while ignoring the girl's disappointed face, he held her hand, and they both went out.
Nancy expected to be approached by guys that night, the drunk ones, the normal ones, and the corny ones just like the one standing right in front of her right now, giving her a corny weird smile and has been convincing her to take the drink he has been offering her.
She looked around hoping Jada would return but there was no sign of her.
"Come on, it is just juice mixed with vodka, pretty girls like vodka", the guy said.
Nancy tried avoiding looking at his face, he looked untidy and he reeked of alcohol, at the same but she tried playing nice, she know guys like him get violent when they are turned down.
"Take it, come on", he added while getting more closer to Nancy.
She started to feel uncomfortable as she had nicely told him she does not want to drink no alcohol that night but the guy did not give up, saying different things to make her drink it.
"I will take it…"
A voice said out of no where, before Nancy could turned her face to see who it was, the girl with the voice had grabbed the cup from the guy's hand and took the alcohol at once.
Nancy was stunned to speak, she stared at the girl who immediately poured herself another cup.
"I drank it for her, can you leave now", the girl added as she dropped the cup after taking the second round of alcohol.
The guy rolled his eyes before walking away.
Nancy still has not said a thing, she stared at the stranger who also looked up at her.
She wore a short silk blue gown and a blue ribbon used on her hair, unlike the girls at the party she had seen, this one looked classy and elegant, also almost drunk but she looked like she could control herself.
"I just broke off with the snakes I called friends some minutes ago, found out one of them was throwing herself at my boyfriend which is now my ex obviously!!!! And the other girls knew about it! Ugh I hate friends", the girl said still staring at Nancy.
"Thank you…", Nancy said in a gentle tone.
"Someone needed to stop that a**hole, I could not bare to see him pass his boundary with you, even after you told him no many times, I had to step in and apart from that I needed that alcohol", she said and slurped more alcohol straight from the vodka bottle.
"I still do" she added.
"Sorry about your friends", Nancy said.
The girl brushed her hand into her curly blonde and put down the bottle.
"Tara, Tara Cole… that is my name", the girl said.
Nancy smiled warmly at Tara, she knew that second that Tara would be her friend and this warmed her heart, it was all she needed.
