Chapter 39 "Waiting for the night around the campfire"
As evening approached, Wilhelm and his friends were excited to build a bonfire and grill the trout they had caught earlier in the day. They had also brought along some marshmallows to roast over the fire.
However, they soon realized that the sun was taking longer than usual to set. Even though they were Swedish children and were used to the long summer days, they couldn't help but feel impatient.
Emma remarked, "Wow, it's almost 9 p.m. and the sun still hasn't set yet. This is so strange."
Lena added, "Yeah, I feel like we've been waiting forever to build the bonfire and grill the fish."
Felix chimed in, "I hope it gets dark soon. I don't want the fish to spoil."
Sebastian reassured the group, "Don't worry, we can always freeze the fish until it gets dark. And in the meantime, we can enjoy the beautiful scenery and each other's company."
Sophia nodded, "That's a good idea. We can also explore the area and see if there's anything else we want to do later tonight."
Charlotte suggested, "Maybe we can tell some spooky stories around the campfire later. That would be fun."
Jonas smiled, "Yeah, and we can roast marshmallows and make some s'mores too."
The group decided to freeze the fish and wait until it got dark to build the bonfire. They explored the area, taking in the beauty of the forest and the peacefulness of the surroundings. As the sun finally began to set, they gathered around the bonfire and enjoyed the delicious grilled trout and roasted marshmallows. They told stories, laughed, and enjoyed each other's company late into the night. It was a perfect ending to a perfect day.
