With all that has been said, it was relatively easy to identify who Cain was.
He was Cain. But not just some guy named Cain though, he was Adam's son. The third human to ever do it, the first murderer, the guy who's punishment it was to wander the Earth for eternity.
The guy destined to never return to dust...crazy.
As he was walking towards the door, Cain paused, put the wallet in his left pocket and walked towards a certain wall. It seemed this living room -or gallery, readers choice- was also filled with weapons because the wall Cain was in front of now was like a weapon rack. It held its fair bit of stuff, but no weapon was too special. Scratching his head a bit, Cain decided to pick a bow. It was a simple weapon that was made of wood. Again, these weapons were nothing special. By the side of the bow was a quiver full of wooden arrows, but Cain only picked one arrow . Hmm, that seems like an odd choice. i mean, what about the guns? But those are just my thoughts though. Anyway, it seems like Cain was now fully ready as he walked towards the previous door and opened it. When he opened the door, we were greeted by trees and as Cain moved further out the door, it was easy to see that the house was in the middle of nowhere inside some random clearing and surrounded by trees from every direction. He walked a little till he was at the edge of the clearing. Then he positioned himself, knocked the arrow and boom. The arrow was released . Cain's actions were strange as he aimed at nothing, what was even stranger ,however, was what the arrow did. The arrow, no for this i would much rather call it a drill, so the drill, made a clean hole through the tree, and about 10 seconds later, a very small -almost inaudible- whimper rang out. What..? Cain ,not minding our confusion, slowly walked in the direction of the perceived whimper. And so he walked, he walked for about 10 minutes and with an expression-less face. All he saw as he kept walking where trees with very smooth drill-like holes. About two minutes later, he stopped as the stench of blood wafted the air. He looked up and behold , one could see his arrow. But that was cool. What was not ,however, was the bear the arrow nailed to a very large tree. The Grizzly bear seemed to still be alive as slight whimpers left it's mouth. From where the arrow was positioned, it seemed like it took out a lung...ouch.
As Cain continued to walk forward, the animal finally noticed him and tried to scare him away by giving a mighty roar. At least that's what should have happened but all it let out was a pain filled whimper as blood leaked from it's mouth. As Cain continued to walk forward, his body blurred and there was a 'Woosh' sound then a disgusting 'Crack' sound and Cain was seen holding the bear's neck. The light of life had started to fade from the animal's eyes and as Cain withdrew his hand, the bear's head hung limply from it's body. It was dead, Cain had crushed it's neck.
Taking a couple ,normal, steps back, Cain observed the animal. Seeing it was quite the big game, he smiled lightly , walked forward again and removed the arrow. Surprisingly, the arrow was unharmed. Cain held the arrow in his left arm and watched as more blood seeped out of the new opening on the bear. His expression remain unchanged as he picked the bear up. He picked it up from one of it's leg, crouched a bit and grabbed the bears neck, putting the entire creature over his shoulders. What he did was similar to how Brock Lesnar picked people up for the F5. Now with the entire bear on his shoulders, Cain proceeded to walk back home. Walking with the same pace as earlier, Cain still got to the clearing where his house sat in about 10 minutes. Seems like the bear posed no hindrance to his movement speed. Cain walked towards the house for a bit then gazed at the front door. He looked back at his right shoulder and saw the bear's face. He shook his head, clearly the animal would not fit through that door. Thinking for a bit, he took the bear off his shoulders and laid it on the ground. He walked into the house with the bloody arrow in hand and about 2 minutes later, he walked out with a knife, and...his freezer? Yeah, Seems like Cain Unplugged the entire thing and brought it out. The freezer was rectangular in shape and could be pulled out through the front door. Walking towards the bear, Cain dropped the freezer about a meter away from the bear but took the knife with him.
What Cain wanted to do was clear. So for the next 2 hours, the clearing rang with brutal sounds of a kitchen Knife going through bone and flesh. When Cain was done, one could appreciate the appearance of the freezer as it was filled with finely cut game of different sizes. Surprisingly, even with all the butchering, Cain's white shirt was still perfectly white. Only the shoulders had some stains. Anyway, all that was left of the bear now -apart from the meat- was it's hide , skull, and certain organs and parts. It didn't seem like Cain had any use for these so he would probably throw them away. The butcher zone was filled with blood and some other stuff. It was an unpleasant sight as slightly large house flies started to gather and petch the content of the site . Cain looked around his butcher zone and at his freezer and was pleased. He stepped out of the butcher zone, his feet leaving bloody footprints as although i forgot to mention this, Cain had no foot ware on. Walking towards his freezer, Cain reached it , observed his meat and closed the machine. He dragged it back by another meter and walked back to the site. Then with a snap of his fingers, a crisp snapping sound rang out then a light 'boom' as the blood of his game spontaneously combusted like it was petrol. And, when i say the 'blood' of his game i mean every bit of the bear's blood actually caught fire, even the blood on the sole of his feet, his hands and his knife. The only part of the bear that wasn't on fire was the meat in the freezer. So like that, in about a minute all that was left of the bear in the butcher zone was gone and the fire died down. At this point, i think the readers should have noticed this, but i'll still say it. Cain was no 'Ordinary man'...he was different.
After standing close to the black patch of land that used to be the butcher zone, Cain walked towards his freezer and took it into the house. He walked into the kitchen, placed the freezer in it's position and plugged it to the wall. But wait. How does he have electricity? I mean there were no power lines next to the house or around the clearing. Well maybe the home was solar powered or something. Anyway, Cain was done here so he walked out of the kitchen and back into the living room . He looked aroud the living room like he was looking for something. His eyes stopped at an antique black and gold clock. The hands of the clock pointed at certain digits as the seconds arm of the clock moved around it. The time read 1:10 pm. It seems like Cain had only been awake for about 3 hours. Yet his expression was a tired one. It wasn't one of physical exhaustion, no this was something deeper... Nodding his head a little, Cain walked towards a part of the living room . Here, it was possible to see empty canvases and some painting tools. It seemed like Cain was an artist after all. Picking up one of the blank canvases, Cain took a paint brush and some paint of different colors. He set the canvas up , let out a deep breath and began to paint. And that readers was how the hours passed.
When Cain was done with his painting, 6 hours had already gone by. Cain took the painting off it's set up and walked towards another point in the room . The living room also served as an art Gallery so it was quite big. When he reached where he was going , he framed the painting and gently dropped the painting in a group of other paintings. The painting he just made was a bit odd to say the least. The painting was a depiction of a grand battle . The fight was between a man that seemed familiar and a very, very large Snake. The man was the red head in the other painting in his bed room, the guy with the short hammer. In this painting, lightening seemed to swirl around the red head's body as he descended from the sky while making a swinging motion with the hammer in his hand. The sky was dark , just like the aura the painting had. The other character in the picture , the very large snake, had it's titanic jaws wide open as part of it's body was out of the ocean while most of it was not. The snake seemed to stir the ocean as mighty tsunamis and waves were surrounding it. A grand battle indeed. This painting happened to be the center piece of this section. The other paintings around it all told tales similar to this one. In one of the paintings, it was possible to see a one eyed man on a six legged horse going up against a giant wolf. Another painting was of a titanic fire giant . The center piece that was recently added gave this section a sense of completion. Cain took a step back and observed the bottom frame of his most recent work. A word was etched on it. 'Ragnarök'. Ah, makes sense.
Taking a few steps back, Cain took a good look at the now completed section and smiled. It was good. After observing his work for a bit more, Cain finally walked away from it and looked at his antique clock. It was now 7:20 pm. Cain didn't have lunch, seems like he wasn't a lunch type of guy either. Cain averted his gaze from the clock and walked towards the kitchen. I guess it's dinner time. When Cain entered the kitchen, he moved like a man on a mission. The first thing he did was to take out some fresh bear meat from the freezer. As he touched it, he realized it was cold ,but not frozen which was good. Next, he took out some pasta from a cupboard and once again, the 'magic' happened. This time, he made some mac and cheese. Don't know how he manages to do it, but just trust me. That was a lot more than just 'mac and cheese'. Anyway, his dinner period was about 25 minutes long. After that, he turned off all the lights in the house and went into his room. When he got in, he walked into the bathroom and walked out about 15 minutes later. he was once again in just some shorts. Seems that how he likes sleeping. His hair was slightly wet which means he probably took a shower. Walking towards his bed, Cain snapped his fingers and the lights went off. He got on his bed and picked up his phone. It was a Samsung flip phone. He turned it on and looked at the screen. It was a plain lock screen and only had a date and time . Today's date was March 3rd 2024 and the time was 8:03 pm. Cain Swiped up and his phone just opened. It seems like he didn't subscribe to using passwords. After that he navigated to a music app , Spotify, and tapped the play button before turning the phone's screen off. Putting his phone aside, Cain finally laid down. The opening sounds of the song could already be heard as he closed his eyes.
`I've been moving fast fast fast fast....
feeling really bad ad ad ad...
time really moves fast fast fast fast...
hurry up and get...
i wear Dior I'm not a fad ad ad ad...
i know all these n*ggas getting mad ad ad ad...
my head on my trigger I'm a die with respect...
f*cking with my money it ain't done like that... `.
As the really good song continued to play out, Cain soon fell fast asleep...
Chapter 2-- Fast, yet slow.
AN: The song is not mine and is attributed to late rapper Juice Wrld, it's titled 'Fast', one of my favorite songs.
