Splashing sounds rang out. 'Huff huf huf....,' heavy panting could also be heard. It seemed like we were no longer in Cain's bedroom. Indeed, now we were in a sea... i think. Here a massive storm was taking place. Rain drops the size of birds fell heavily from the heavens. Here it was also possible to see Cain. He was swimming against the ever growing tides. He wasn't alone though. On his body was a fair skinned lady, she was trying very hard to hold herself and her -or their?- baby to Cain's large body. That wasn't all though because Cain's group was not the only group frantically trying to swim for their lives. His group was surrounded by humans -some regular sized and some almost gigantic- , all trying their very best to stay afloat.
"Hold on Delila huf... huf... I'll get us there soon," Cain said with heavy breaths. The woman on his body, -probably named Delila- only held tighter in response while the baby that was tied around her stomach released more crying sounds. Cain focused on what was in front of him and his expression grew firmer, 'the ark' he thought and he swam even harder. Indeed, in front of the group of swimming humans was an ark ship. It was a titanic ship and was made entirely of wood. The ark ship lay calmly on the harsh waters. It seemed like the tides and waves just made way for it as it continued to drift about in a stable manner, completely unaffected by the elements. That was probably the swimming people's goal.
As Cain Continued to swim, the rain got heavier and heavier. The waters also got colder and colder. The rain had gotten so bad now that extremely large trees and debris could be seen moving back and forth. The debris were carried by the titanic waves. Cain had been swimming for about 2 hours since we got here. Now most of the people he had been swimming with were nowhere to be found. Only the giants and a few humans continued to swim forward. Luckily though, the ark ship could still be seen in front of them. It seemed like these group of humans were making brisk progress. Then out of nowhere, a loud 'CRACK' was heard then the place seemed to light up as white light illuminated the world followed by a loud 'BOOOM'. A very huge bolt of lightening had just struck the waters a vast distance away from the humans and the ark ship. Calling that bolt huge was an understatement, it was probably wider than the ark ship. The spot the lightening struck was completely vaporized and so where vast distances around it. The make shift ocean now looked like it had a huge water less hole in it. Obviously physics still held sway here and the hole needed to be filled up. And that was exactly what happened. Vast volumes of water were pulled in from the surrounding areas to try and fill in the gap. This caused a massive whirlpool to form in the surrounding areas, sucking water in from every direction. The suction force produced by the whirlpool was so strong it even shook the ark ship. But like most calamities, the ark ship moved through regardless. The humans however... naa. As Cain noticed the sudden change in direction of the water's flow, he had a bad feeling, "Delila, hold on tight he said" as he immediately turned around and started swimming in the opposite direction; however, this proved to be too late because immediately he turned around, he was greeted by the site of a huge tree. The whirlpool had pulled it in! The tree was about a meter away from him and it was coming in fast. Cain's mind spun , he was looking for a way out. He thought of diving into the ocean, but he couldn't do that as they couldn't breath underwater. Obviously while he was thinking, time was ticking. Gritting his teeth, Cain shouted "Delila, cover the kid's mouth and hold your breath". With that Cain prepared to take a dive, but then he noticed something and touched his neck...the arms around his neck...were gone. Cain's eyes widened as he tried to turn around while screaming ,"Deli--!!!" It seemed like he had forgotten the tree, but the tree had not forgotten him! And with a muffled 'bam' he was hit mid turn -and scream- by the large object. The tree moved so fast that as it hit Cain, one could definitely here muffled crushing sounds. Soon the water around that area became pinkish for a bit as the tree continued on it's merry way; Cain ,however, was nowhere to be found.
'BROOM' thunderous sounds rang out from the heavens as the rain seemed to intensify further. And that dear readers was how the days passed. The sun would rise and it would set and this pattern repeated itself for 4 cycles before a man's head popped out of the water. The man was Cain, but he did not seem to be conscious. He had his eyes closed as if he was asleep. Heavy rain drops hit his face ,but he still did not respond. So that was how Cain's body moved with the strong currents, covering vast distances in mere hours until 'Baamm' his body slammed into a hard tall cliff-like something. It seemed like the force was able to wake him up because his eyes sprung open and he immediately started coughing, "Cough Cough...huff.. Cough". Water escaped his mouth while he was coughing and it looked like he was the victim of a drowning incident. "huff... huff..." Cain's breathing was still rough but it seemed like he had managed to find his bearings. Cain looked around him in a bid to gauge his surroundings. The storm was still in full swing, it was night time and he couldn't see much, but the occasional bolts of lightening flashing through the sky helped him a bit. All he knew now was that there was a cliff to his back and in front of him was a vast, endless storm. It was clear...this rain, it would not end anytime soon.
Turning around weakly, Cain looked up at the cliff that stopped his drifting. It was strangely not quite tall. What felt even stranger though was how close the sky looked. In fact, if felt almost like he could touch it if he reached the short peak of the cliff. Cain decided to ascend the cliff, but it proved a lot more difficult than he would like. But could you blame him though? He had been out for days, his muscles felt like clothes ,and the cliff was both wet and steep. He also found it difficult to breath as he continued to ascend. It was like the air wasn't enough.
It took Cain about 1 hour to ascend the cliff and with a low 'huff...' he pulled himself to it's peak and tried to catch his breath. That proved a little difficult as the air was getting harder to gather. Taking a look towards the sea below, Cain realized that it was a long drop. The harsh currents crashing against the cliff seemed to emphasize the point as he looked away. Cain pulled himself off the ground and turned around. What greeted him was huge. 'Giant.' Cain thought as he observed the creature in front of him. It looked human, but was just about 10 times bigger and it had only One eye. The giant cyclopes was male. It was easy to tell this because the giant was shirtless and had no stuff. From the creature's loud snoring, it was clear that it wasn't dead only asleep. 'Time to change that,' Cain thought as he looked around the cliff. It seemed like he found what he was looking for as he quietly walked towards a large rock. It was about the size of half a man and was quite heavy. Cain picked it up with some difficulty and walked quietly towards the giant's head. It seemed like he wanted to try and crack the giant's skull. The giant's head was much bigger than the rock though, i mean the rock was only as big as its eye. Cain reached the giant creature's head, lifted the rock higher and heavily dropped it down with a loud "HAaa!". The rock hit the giant's eye almost immediately and with a pleasing 'SQUELCH' sound, the eye ball exploded. Eye fluid went everywhere and the giant released a loud scream of agony. 'ARGHHH!!' it grabbed it's eye with both hands and started thrashing around. Seeing this , Cain took a couple steps back. The giant was able to remove the foreign object from it's eyes and the rock hit the ground. It was now covered in blood and yellowish fluid. It didn't last though as the heavy rain drops washed everything away.
"WHOOO!!" the enraged giant thundered! Walking towards one of the cliff's edges, Cain stood by it and replied with a simple "Here." The now blind giant's ears twitched and it's head turned in Cain's direction. It charged at him while screaming "I'LL KILL YOU!!". The giant reached Cain almost instantly then jumped at him. Cain however just bent down and the giant flew right over him. "..."
Cain carefully turned around as he watched the giant 'enjoy' the long fall down, then a muffled splash sound rang out. Cain could hear the giant scream in range and fear. It had gotten caught by the storm . Turning back around, Cain ignored the wails of the giant. The water's direction had changed yet again so the blind giant was officially none of his business. Cain walked towards the rock and sat beside it. He rested his back on the rock and fought for a little air. He closed his eyes and images of a woman and child flashed before his eyes. The woman was clearly Delila and the child was probably their baby. Soon tears seemed to flow down Cain's eyes , or i think it did after all it was never easy to spot tears in the rain.
And That readers was how the days passed. Soon the waters had engulfed the cliff-like something Cain rested on, but he couldn't be bothered. The currents just carried him away as the rain continued to fall. The days became nights and the nights became days this went on for another 30+ cycles before the storm finally stopped. It didn't matter though because the Earth was thoroughly flooded. In fact, if one could fly around the Earth, they would notice that everything had been covered. Even the tallest mountains and volcanoes had been covered. The Earth was filled with water. Indeed, it would even be inappropriate to call it 'Earth' as there was non to speak of. If the being that flew around the world was observant enough though, he would be able to see two things. One was a massive ark ship floating majestically in all these waters and the other was a dark skinned man drifting on the waters with a peaceful expression . The movement of his chest made it clear that he was clearly alive.
The waters on the Earth slowly began to receded. It took it a while though. but when all was said and done and the Earth was dry again, Cain could be seen sitting on the side of a cliff. He looked thinner -probably because he hadn't eaten for a while- and sported a lost expression. Cain stayed in that position for a while. That was till something Cain had never seen appeared in the sky . It was a bow of many colors . The bow seemed to give Cain comfort as he stood up slowly. A tear drop slid down his eyes but he wiped it away. When he was up, he gave the bow one last look and started walking west...
