Chapter 38 - A terrifying boss

"Get out! You useless fool!" The middle-aged man shouted angrily as he saw how his subordinate was behaving. He couldn't stand the cowardly nature of his subordinate.

As a man, one must always act responsible for his actions. One shouldn't act cowardly in times of a difficult situation. One needs to show bravery even in the face of death.

"Th..a. tha..n thank you, boss! The man stammered as he quickly stood up from the floor and rushed out of the room. He thanked the heavens for bringing him out of the depths of hell as he made his way out of the room.

He had heard many stories about how terrifying this boss of his could be when he gets angry. It's said that he has once dug out the eyes of one of his close aides when that said aide failed to take responsibility for a failed mission that he led.

Due to this, anytime one is called into his study to account for a failed mission, one can only pray to the heavens to come out unscathed.

It is truly a blessing that he was able to come out with every part of his body intact.

The middle-aged man became infuriated as he looked at his subordinate's disgusting actions. " Have all of them become this weak-minded? He asked himself doubtfully.

Looking at this his subordinate's actions made him question the loyalty and mindset of the others.

"I guess it's about I dug out the weeds," He thought.

Subsequently, he brought out his phone and dialed a number. Seconds later,

"Your Excellency, it's been a while since you called me. What could be the reason for the call in this early morning? Hahaha." The person on the other side of the phone joked.

However, the middle-aged man addressed as his excellency didn't get angry instead he politely replied, " Mr. Joe, there is this particular issue that I would need your help with."

"OH? What could be so troublesome as to make a whole minister seek out my help? Mr. Joe jokingly asked.

"Hahahaha. I am but just a deputy minister. I pale in far comparison to Mr. Joe." The minister replied.

"Mr. Joe, could you please do me a favor by meeting me in my other mansion? The minister asked.

He had two buildings. One was the villa recognized as his home while the other was used for particular business relations such as his scheduled meeting with Mr. Joe. It couldn't be made known to the public.

Only a select few knew about this secret.

"Your other mansion? Alright. Give me about an hour to put some matters in place over here. I'll meet you there. Mr. Joe replied after some hesitation.

"Okay. I'll be expecting you then. The minister responded heaving a sigh of relief.

Asking for the services of Mr. Joe was one thing while his acceptance was as difficult as climbing a mountain. Even though he hasn't accepted anything since nothing has been discussed yet, his agreeing to meet could be considered as him being ready to listen to the situation and perhaps accept it.
