"Kill?" The minister was momentarily stunned when he heard the words uttered by Mr. Joe.
He knew how competent the police could be when they intend to put all their resources into arresting a criminal.
They would surely take action after getting the intelligence that their Sergeant was murdered. it would be a different story for Mr. Joe should they intend to do so.
Even though Mr. Joe is a highly recognized assassin and known by many for his skills in the organization. There is a limit to what an individual can do when faced with the police. Unless the organization decides to step in, which is doubtful.
"Yeah. I have my ways." Mr. Joe nodded unconcerned. He acted as if killing the Sergeant and incurring the wrath of the police wasn't a big deal.
"Maybe he has the police under his foot?" The minister thought to himself after noticing Mr. Joe's nonchalant behavior.
"Alright. Then, I would leave everything within your care." He replied after thinking for a while. Why should he be riled up when the person responsible for the job is this calm and relaxed?
Moreover, he seems to be confident in his ways and means. Therefore, He chose to adopt the wait-and-see method.
"Good! I guess it's now time we talk about the payment. No?" Mr. Joe asked.
Pushing his back against the sofa to serve more comfortably, the minister responded, "You are right, so do tell me, Mr. Joe, how much are you willing to take for the service?"
"Hahahaha. For the sake of our friendship, I would only take 30,000.00 Ghana cedis. Mr. Joe replied after some thought. For the moment, money isn't a problem for him. His only goal is to make the minister owe him a favor. Hence, the money charged.
There would come a time when he would need him to repay the favor as he had decided to contest for the position of chairman within the organization.
Therefore, he is on course to win the favor of most of those with high positions in the organization.
"30,000 Ghana cedis? That is too cheap of a price for assassinating a sergeant. The minister thought to himself.
However, he didn't allow his thoughts to reflect on his face. Looking at his facial expression, he was as collected and composed as ever.
"Hahahaha, 30,000 is it then." The minister laughed as he immediately pulled himself from his thoughts.
"When you need my help in the future, do not hesitate to ask me for it! The minister replied after getting the hidden message behind the price quoted by Mr. Joe.
"Hahahaha. I see. Then I wouldn't stand on ceremony when the time comes." Mr. Joe responded. His goal of coming to this meeting could be said to have been achieved.
The only thing left was to get the job done. However, that was the least of his concerns since killing a Sergeant is a piece of cake to him.
"When should I expect the good news? The minister replied. The sooner this problem is uprooted, the better his chance of meeting his quota for the year becomes.
Mr. Joe, on the other hand, kept mute as he only raised three fingers.
"Three weeks? The minister replied with a darkened face. He couldn't wait that long. He wanted it done as soon as possible. This problem has become a torn in his flesh. He finds it hard to sleep at night, knowing very well what was looming over him.
"No." Mr. Joe shook his head. "I mean, three days. I would have even used a day had the distance to the village be just a few kilometers." He replied After googling the distance from their current place, Koforidua to Oframasi on his mobile phone.
Two days for a background check-up and traveling to the village, and a day to get the actual job done. That is how competent he is as an assassin.
