"Mr. Bullet?" Yebou stared in confusion when he heard the other party referring to him as such.
Aside from "Yebou" which almost everybody calls him and Kweku Agyei his original name known by a few such as Grandma Akosua and Joe, he couldn't remember giving out the name Bullet to anybody.
Even when he called the police, he refrained from giving out his name. This is his first time hearing this name.
"Hahaha Mr. Bullet, you may not know, but you're currently the most popular person at our police station. Every officer has heard of your name, they are just waiting to see you in person. Sergeant Quaye replied joyously when he saw Yebou's confused expression.
He retracted back his hand.
He didn't even seem to feel awkward when the other party didn't shake his hand.
" Oh?" So how did you come up with that name? Yebou was asked curiously. He wanted to know the situation in which the name was birthed from.
"Well, first of all, I'd like to say a very big thank you to you. Your assistance in taking out that notorious organization has helped me a lot. Sergeant said seriously as he bowed.
" No, no, no, get up" Yebou hurriedly went forward as he brought Sergeant Quaye up. In the Akan tradition, it is ill-mannered to have an elderly person bow to a young one.
If caught, the young one would be severely punished by the Chief of the said village or town.
Even though Yebou wouldn't be afraid should he be caught, he can't say the same for Grandma Akosua.
Since he'd be leaving soon, he didn't want to leave any bad impression behind. Moreover, he didn't want to increase the burden Grandma Akosua would have to endure when he left together with Joe.
"Recently, when you fought a group of people at the stream, some of my men were present. So, they sent me the video of the scene.
From the first 30-second video, I didn't think much about it as I thought it was likely to be a misunderstanding among kids.
However, upon several persuasions from my subordinates, linking it with the testimony from the kidnapping incident, I decided to finish the video.
And damn, I was astounded at your incredible prowess. Moreover, your speed... It was terrifying. You seemed to move faster than a Bullet. That was the thought that came to mind.
So from that moment onwards, I started to address you as Bullet whenever I asked my men to investigate you different from what I was initially addressing you.
That's how the name came to be. Sergeant Quaye spat out everything without concealing the slightest truth.
He understands that for him to appear trustworthy before the youth, he needs to be sincere. Therefore, he didn't even think twice about muttering out everything. If everything goes well, he might have himself a formidable ace in the future.
" Oh? So that is how it seems! Faster than a Bullet? Not bad! Yebou became pleasantly surprised about how deeply this Sergeant thinks. For him to come up with such a nice name just by watching his video, he is sure an intelligent person.
Yebou's impression of him has improved greatly.
Sergeant Quaye became happy when he noticed Yebou's improved mood.
" It seems my sincerity has paid off" Sergeant Quaye smiled lovingly.
"Mr. Bullet, I'd surely visit you some other time to have a nice chat with you. It's getting late, so I think I need to speed up my speech.
My main visit here today is to thank you for your assistance and put forward an offer. Sergeant Quaye said as he put his hands into his pocket.
