Within the seemingly always chaotic place that had been the place of Ebott… the chaos was quelled as a wave of a more desirable and seemingly tranquil environment had popped the bubble of darkness that was created through the fear of attack. After the event that had happened not too long ago the citizens once more seemed happy and lax with a pep in their step as worry had flown out of them once more. With their great leaders there would be no fear in their heart that anymore threats would even come close to damaging their civilization once more. Today though there is a rather large amount of people bustling around due to there being a foreseen winter coming soon, so they wanted to enjoy the last days of this summertime that they had. Even the "Underground Gang." As they shall be called, would enjoy going out and hanging around one of the local parks. Excluding the two monarchs who have to stay back and watch the unfolding of their project, along with Dr. Gaster who is helping in their overview.
Chara would have been sitting on a bench at the park alongside Sans who had also just decided to sit down, they were overall the least energetic of the group and the more mellowed out ones. Chara was simply leaning back on the bench and looking around at the beautiful scene that made up the park nicely taking in the carefully put together structure and taking in the nice air that originated from the place that would please her senses, although Chara still had a certain disdain for humans one thing that she had always enjoyed within her heart was nature and the grand beauty that it always seemed to have no matter what. Although her eyes drifted from the trees and flowers that gracefully stood in the park, and the pleasing sound of laughter that came from the most innocent of humans. And then she would dawn on something that was less pleasing. The sight of a snoozing skeleton man that had somehow managed to fall asleep in the couple minutes that they were sitting there. "Just how lazy can someone be." Chara would think, but say out loud at the same time as she looked at him, the face he had on in his sleep seemed to be mocking her with that bright grin he always wore. Chara would make a sort of pouting noise as she would poke the cheek bone of Sans trying to wake him, but then she put her hand down and onto her lap quickly after looking away from him.
Sans would have woken up after being poked and looked around, but then he remembered Chara was sitting right next to him now and would have done a quizzical look towards her. He would notice the deliberate staring away from Sans that she was doing, what was up with her.
"What'd you wake me up for? Something up?" Sans would have asked.
Chara would speak in a bit of what seemed to be a half annoyed voice, as if she didn't really mean it, a slight trace of deceit layered in her words. "Well seeing you sleeping too much annoys me lazybones." The ever so aware judge at least when he's awake would have detected this and a bigger grin would grow onto his face as he spoke. "You just wanted to talk to me didn't you? No need to be so shy you aren't a little kid are ya. So what's up?" Chara would seem to be slightly relieved perhaps it was because Sans caught onto what she really meant in the speech which betrayed what she meant. She did just want to have someone to talk to as they sat on the bench. "Well yes you've got me, it can be lonely sitting all by yourself." Sans chuckles slightly as it just seemed funny to him. "Jeez just because you aren't a kid doesn't mean you can't have fun over there like everyone else. Just leave old Sans by himself, besides they would probably enjoy you over there as well." Chara would look over at everyone else enjoying themselves in the park, but would have simply shook her head from side to side. "No I'm alright Sans, I just wanna sit down for a bit here." Chara would say as she seemed to have a little droop on her face looking slightly down at the ground now. Sans would have noticed the change in expression on her face which caused the uncanny smile of the skeleton to droop as his face would look as concerned as a concerned expression of a skeleton would appear. Sans would suddenly grab onto the side of Chara pulling her closer to him in a sort of hug to show some semblance of care towards the girl. Chara's expression would suddenly have changed from that of a surprised one and she turned to Sans with the expression not coming off of her face, "why did he do that?" she would have thought, but she also said it out loud.
Sans would once more have a regular smile on his face, that nice old smile to make anyone feel a little bit better, well at least he thought so. "You looked down kiddo, so why not? Just tell me what's going on, I may not be able to help you, but I'm a good listener." Sans would say as he would give Chara his attention letting go of her now and putting his hands in his pockets. Although a funny memory came to his head, this was just like that time that Frisk had tried to cheer him up, it's nice to pass something like that on right? With that everyone can be friends. Sans would stop himself from laughing as he thought that's exactly something Frisk would say, though his mind drifted from that when Chara actually started speaking. "Sans, do you think I'm a bad person? I want you to be brutally honest with me." Sans would be nothing short of confused by the sudden question that would have been pushed onto him, not just at the question itself, but where it came from. Sans would put a hand to his skeletal chin as he thought to just give her an answer like she desired, now to only put it into words. Once he had found those words he would have turned to her. "If you want to know what I think, you are kiddo. But you at the same time have plenty of flaws, nobody is perfect. And I certainly have some myself as you guys like to point out so often, but I think you got a really big one you need to figure out. You still hold a great distaste for humanity in general even now don't you? I feel like that hatred has become very unfounded especially in our current time. You need to learn to let go of your hate Chara, It will only hold you back more than you want it to." Chara would listen back intently hearing this she would close her eyes and slightly reflect on this within her own mind as her facial expression would twist and turn with slight inner turmoil. "Sans, have you ever had something that you really wanted to get rid of but you just couldn't? It's something like that, it was ingrained into me at such a young age because of what I went through with them, it's hard to just let it go." It would seem Chara had gotten a bit off of her chest as the words left her mouth, it felt nice to air out her problems, but at the same time she would only wonder what Sans might say back to her now. Sans would have seemed to have some sort of understanding about him, it's his same habit of being lazy, but at the same time he has somewhat overcome it. An idea would pop up into his head. "As you say Chara, it is indeed hard, but not impossible, especially for someone like you right kiddo? So just believe in old Sans who believes in you, and everyone else I know would want the best for ya, right? I'll tell you what, I will even stop being a lazybones even more if you can promise me to work on that yourself huh?" Chara would sort of chuckle at his last statement, though he was right perhaps that is actually what she should do, to better herself and for the sake of those besides her as well. "It seems that hanging around Frisk so much has taught you a thing or two huh? Very well then, I do agree to your little thing though Sans. Let's both try our hardest okay?" After Chara said this a little smile would appear on her face and she would laugh slightly, that was a rather nice conversation to have with Sans and it really lighten her mood as Sans would laugh too. Chara would stand up from the bench and walk towards the group with Sans following shortly after as they were waved at by them as they wandered closer.
They would all be greeted with pleasant smiles of course, "I'm glad you finally decided to get up lazybones, and Miss Chara you seem happier than usual, did something grrreat happen?" Papyrus would say curiously, Frisk Sora and Shiro would look with the same curious expression. "Well actually I just had a nice talk with Sans is all." Papyrus would seem to be somewhat proud as he looked at Sans nicely. He would assume it was some of his bad puns. "Well good job brother. But now that you've finally gotten up you must face me in a grand puzzle! You shall never overcome these dastardly Japes." Sans would just sigh and say "Sure bro." Sans was dragged away by Papyrus now to go play some puzzle games that were around the park. Frisk would drag Chara away from the two children alone and sit with her on the floor of a playground playset that you'd have to climb to get to. Frisk would inquire to Chara about the exact contents of the conversation as she felt like there was something to it really, Chara would just go on and spill. As the two talked the children would just be trying to eavesdrop on their conversation, Although they would have been quickly found out and pushed away. "Chara, why didn't you ever talk to me you know, You're my sister you can trust me alright!" Chara would give an unsure response. "I just… I didn't know Frisk, sometimes I can't think about things properly." Frisk would hit Chara on the head with her stick lightly. "Just try not to forget me for your problems again okay?" Chara would rub their head and simply nodded towards Frisk, agreeing.
Elsewhere in the park, and the reason that Alphys and Undyne were not with everyone else was the old turtle Gereson. Gereson had a cart within the park that just sold some food items and other essentials, but of course due to the weather he was selling off some popsicles to the locals, and the kids of course really seemed to enjoy them which means they also seemed to like him. It really made Gereson happy to make other people within his old years. While he was fading off he wanted to be able to leave as big and as good of a mark behind as possible to make sure the next generation is something that can be proudly looked on, this simple cart is one of the many things he would do to try and help such a cause. The old turtle though today would have quite the surprise as he made out two familiar looking people.. one of them being very familiar to him that would put a smile on the old turtle's face upon them coming towards him. "Undyne is that you? It's been a long time since I seen you in person, young lady, how've you been these days, Undyne?" Gereson's gaze would've fallen down towards Alphys giving her a similar bit of enthusiasm in his gaze, but he still spoke in the relaxed and wise elder tone he had, it really was enchanting to listen to. "Ah Alphys too, I last saw you at you and Undyne's wedding wasn't it, or uh when you made that doohickey, my memories starting to fall on me." The old man would have scratched his head and then just laughed it off. Alphys and Undyne would return smiles to Gereson, there was something about the old turtle that just made the vibe of the area exceptionally higher. "Gyahahah, old man, you're not old enough to kick the bucket yet, or start having that dementia. I've been just great Gereson, still a great royal guard, i've been getting greater and greater at being a royal guard. I think I'm almost as awesome as you old man." After all these years Undyne still hadn't believed herself to become to the height that was Gereson nor had she lost any respect for him and still held him in such high regards. Alphys would've spoken as well as she was acknowledged by the old turtle. "Oh uh, it was when we made a breakthrough in curing the human disease cancer." Gereson would make an "ahh" at Alphys as his memory kicked in. "Oh yes now I remember, it was quite an excellent event. I'm glad we have young folk like you." Gereson would turn his head to Undyne now. "Oh Undyne i'm glad you think that, i've got a few more years in me don't I, You better not cry when I go now, you're too strong for that. Though I think you idolize me too much, be your own type of hero, a better hero than I ever was Undyne. I think I'm too old to be a hero anyways in the current time, they need someone newer and fresher like you. I'm just like a fish out of water now." He would chuckle at his last sentence as it was sort of a bad joke with Undyne being.. a fish. Undyne would've simply rolled her eyes at the joke, but she would seem to be acknowledging his words as they shifted throughout her mind. Try to be something different, something greater. A grin would come onto her face. She couldn't deny the old man's advice. It sounded just like something she would want to do anyway.
"Well Gereson, I guess I'll listen to you once more. Oh can we get two of your sea tea's please." Gereson would nod his head towards Undyne brewing up two carefully made teas for the two. Once he was done he would pass them over, just one sip of the tea and it would be wowing at the skill the turtle had for it, though many would say it didn't fall close to Asgore, but for Undyne this was one of the best things she's ever drank. Gereson would then make a statement. "On the hose for you two think of it as a gift." Alphys and Undyne would both be about to refuse this free gift towards them, but their pleas would be interrupted by the sound of a young girl calling out for Gereson. "Mr Turtle, Mr Turtle! I need your help. I lost my cat!" Gereson would whistle as he would turn to the kid but said one last thing. "Whoops guess I can't accept any payment." And the turtle quickly walked over to the kid to assist them. Undyne would've just smiled and shook her head as she and Alphys would've waved away the turtle and went back to wander around the park while enjoying his tea. Alphys would've looked up at Undyne while they were walking for a moment and gave a nice remark. "You know I really do think you've become someone comparable to him, and you already are your own special person."
