Axis would have begun to slowly open his eyes as the new day within the strange world would have dawned upon the leader, he seemed to be feeling up and attem' as he swiftly bounced out of the bed as soon as his eyes had opened and seen light. In a moment's notice he would already be dressed, he would not show a single moment of slack as he stepped out of the room he had gotten to sleep within. He would take a look around trying to see where the dogon had gone.. although that's when suddenly he would turn around and suddenly the giant creature was standing right there which immediately caused him to go into a defensive stance by instinct until letting down his guard realizing it was just them with his body easing up.
"Don't just come outta nowhere, I thought you might've been an enemy." Axis would say slightly annoyed
The dog tilted its head to the side and then let out a bellowing roar of laughter from its lips. "What? Have you already made an enemy here? The dragons have no qualms with you."
Axis nodded his head finding him to be right, now he kind of felt silly about himself and shook his head from side to side. "Alright just ignore that! Now then may we go on to our training already, i'm more than ready."
The dogon shared a nod back in answer as he grabbed onto Axis. "Since I see you to be so eager we shall go off at an instant now hold onto your horses." And once more the Dogon would use his instantaneous movement to suddenly appear somewhere else, suddenly they were high within the sky floating off somewhere that seemed to be an open plain, and before Axis could give any further thought he was dropped to the ground and Tobias disappeared. When he crashed to the ground suddenly Tobias's voice spoke to him. "I have set up this place for you, you must make your way through it successfully to get past your first part of the trial."
Axis seemed to get up, slightly bugged as he did not expect to just get dumped down here with no knowledge, but then again he knows coming at something while knowing nothing. Axis would pat himself off from the dirt, firstly there seemed to be a clear road path to go forward which Axis would follow, but he made sure to go quietly and closely as he would inspect his surroundings. From him looking around the area began to reveal itself to him as a mostly open plain filled to the brim with short grass and trees that were evenly and decently spaced from each other, not as cluttered as your regular forest. The wildlife that he saw around there was mostly small like some bunnies and butterflies moving about.. Yet there was one thing that did not seem right. The entire plane, the entire area, had a certain magical feel about it that seemed to be vastly different from what he was used to. This sort of natural magical essence could only be found in a place like the underground, but this feels like there was a higher abundance here and probably why the place appeared so wonderful and nicely kept.
Walking through a place that seemed so idyllic it began to make Axis think of some memories within his past that would put a smile on his face. He imagined walking down the nice path with his family how they would on their many outings when he was young.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Axis was slowly walking behind his mother holding her hand to stay close to her and not get lost as they traversed across a seemingly glowing golden path in the middle of a forest trail, his father walking cautiously in front of them as if he expected something or someone to pop out and try and attack them at a moments notice. Seeing his father like this would seem to make his mother slightly laugh as a smile dawned upon her face.
"My dear.. You do not have to be so tense all the time, we are here all alone, safe and sound."
Axis's father would have turned around and started walking backwards as he would be about to quickly say something back, he would look directly at his wife and gulped down his own words before trying to speak again, seeming to come out in the nicest and most proper tone possible.
"But Yui, you may not see it or think it is there, but you must always be aware of the possibility of-"
In the middle of Axis's father speaking he would receive a light bash on the head from his wife's hand boding for him to discontinue his speech momentarily as she would rebut even further with a huff.
"Hiro, you know if you go around life always thinking about danger and not embracing a little fun, you're never gonna have all the fun you can, besides we'll be able to handle it huh. And we wouldn't want our little boy to be afraid of everything wouldn't we? He's gonna have to take on a lot of stuff like you."
While she spoke she would place a gentle hand on top of Axis's head and ruffled his hair, now the silent boy who seemed to just be listening would suddenly try to get his mothers hand off of him despite smiling.
"Mom stop that, I'm not a baby!"
Hiro would seem defeated as he made a quick response to his wife seeming to easily give in. "Alright alright dear, I suppose you do have a point, you are a smart woman and that's one of the reasons why I married you of course."
She would give a slightly embarrassed laugh from being flattered and from Axis well wanting to be so grown, but she would suddenly stop in her tracks. She would turn to the side and point out a snake that was right there.
"Alright big boy, if you're so grown you won't be scared of that harmless snake over there."
There sat in the grass a Japanese four lined rat snake. Axis seemed to slightly recoil at the sight of such a strange creature, it was usually ingrained in every person's mind to have a certain fear of snakes, maybe it was their shape, or a natural aura of fear that exuded from them. Though Axis would remember what his mother had said, to not be scared of everything and to prove (to himself at least) that he was more grown as he said. And so he would reach out his hand towards the snake and touched it on its head
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now back in the present after a short bit of reminiscing Axis seemed to be quite alright after seeming to walk with less air of caution about him closing his eyes and embracing the moment, alas this would not be a test if it were to be this easy. Although that would certainly not have been the best option funnily enough in the exact moment in his complete relaxation, that is when danger had decided to strike, a sudden shift in the wind had happened forward of him, as the very ground seemed to have changed to something else beneath his feet, something was coming, and it was coming fast. Axis swiftly moved his head off to the side as he opened his eyes, he had narrowly dodged a staff coming towards his head, the attack seemed strange, it as devoid of any feeling or intent, even something like a animal incapable of proper thought would show some or a machine like mettaton.
Axis took a glance backwards as he heard a loud noise going past him when he heard a loud whipping noise through the air caused by it, when looking back he saw the lands were absolutely ravaged and thrashed as if several high powered nuclear explosions had gone off even decimating through an entire mountain in the distance, Axis snapped his head back towards the creature after the short glance and jumped off to the side, there was one thing more concerning than what he just saw, that being this was not even close to its full extent. Axis now getting a good look at what attacked him, it seemed to be a strangely humanoid monkey standing on 2 legs spinning around its staff as he laughed at Axis before speaking.
"You, you must be Axis huh. I hope you really are as fun as Tobias had me believe, now entertain me mortal man."
Suddenly a huge grin would grow on the face of the anthropomorphic monkey as it quickly dashed towards Axis without a thought of hesitation going to use even more power than he just had, Axis quickly had raised his arms upwards to defend from the attack that had a feeling of an impending calamity from it creating a cross guard to block and defend from the initial blow, yet despite his blocking it had seemed to be useless against the power of this crazy monkey that demolished the insides of his arms rendering them feeling weak. And then, the second bang happened, the monkey's attack had created a double impact from a second impact created by what he would notice as some spiritual power rendering the arms of Axis completely broken as he was pushed right onto the ground with his arms now at his side. The impending doom of Axis seemed ready to come as the monkey swung down his staff there seemed to be millions of afterimages coming from them at a speed that an eye even as trained as Axis's could not keep up with and either from luck or skill he managed to roll out of the way before it came down on him and jumped a distance away from the monkey. Where Axis was before, was now replaced with a crater that dug through the celestial realm all the way through without an end to it. Axis despite the situation he was now in would keep himself upright and fearless as he quickly spouted a question to his mysterious opponent.
"Hey who even are you, And how am I supposed to learn if you just kill me!"
The monkey would simply roll his eyes as he tossed his staff into the air, it would keep going and going without stopping as it faded within the distant sky. The creature itself seemed to be annoyed by the reaction of the king.
"Well your highness, if you only fight people weaker than you when will you ever change? If you never face any real challenge to your standing you shall stand in the same place forever and ever. I have only achieved this strength that you see here for doing seemingly impossible acts over and over and over again, yet I took it all on with determination and bravery taking down monoliths of power single handedly. I'm sure you can handle some roughness eh? Though if you really want to know who I am, you can call me Tsun, cmon now lets have some fun!"
The monkey once more came in with his seemingly careless fighting style, shown with every single movement and attack he would throw, despite the power he was using, he was explicitly not taking Axis seriously in the slightest Axis became annoyed by this, but that only made him realize how truly fickle he ws compared to many others, how could he be fit to be a king yet so far below.. A monkey. Axis would furrow his brows as he grew into an absolute focus, his entire body started to have a faint orange aura begin to spark around him. When the monkey punched towards Axis now with these speeds that seemed to be so blazingly fast before, he would be able to narrowly overcome it as he ducked below the galant punch that went to strike right for his head! Axis's eye glowed a sudden orange as he saw his opportunity and punched upwards to uppercut the monkey whilst his arm had been extended and he was defenseless seemingly.
"Close, but sadly i'm not just another opponent you're used to."
Tsun had grabbed the fist by his tail which seemed to effortlessly toss Axis twirling around in the air as if he were nothing but a mere ragdoll, not a king but a peasant trying to play as one. Axis looked down at the monkey from the sky, the demeanor on his face remained yet he was beginning to realize the truth behind the words of the monkey, and it was beyond something just in a fight. Many times he only tried the safest option, many times he had not done something in fear of the danger, and yet he called himself king? A king should not simply be a title for show a king should wear the title and follow it through with their being.
Axis for a moment would have closed his eyes as everything became so clear to him, he had a feeling of being in some sort of absolute blissful state, time began to slowly go to a stop as he became filled with a serene state of self as he flipped throughout the air, he could feel himself resonating with his very own soul.. A soul that encompassed what he was and what he would further strive toward. It was the soul of bravery.
Axis landed back on the ground onto his feet and opened his eyes once more as he gazed over at Tsun, he had no gaze of anger or sort of anything as if it was purely nothing within it, such calmness as if there was no worry for him in this fight, he would fight against worry itself. Tsun would approach him with an utmost urgency with his movements closing the distance between them in an instant, Axis anticipated his movement before he even did it and sent out a pre-emptive kick towards his lower torso, yet the monkey acted just as fast and sent his own kick reciprocating Axis's blocking his kick. Axis seemed to think of a new attack in the heat of the moment he shot out a second kick aiming towards the same spot, but this was not a flawed attack as he fell not on his back, but he was supported by an orange hand coming out from behind him. Sadly for Axis once again the monkey seemed to copy him just an instance later, meeting his attack once again, but using his tail as a substitute.
"Now this.. This is the sign of a king, how resourceful!"
The monkey would seem to be humoring him, though Axis showed no words back as he continued his assault suddenly pushing off of the arm that laid itself on the ground behind him and used it to propel his body as a projectile towards the monkey bashing his head against his, due to the durability of the monkey far surpassing his as he had no real way to lower it for the sake of Axis, Axis would have his head bleed profusely, though his action was enough to put the monkey on the ground. Axis wasted no time and quickly raised his leg slamming down upon the monkey, a moment before Axis actually touched Tsun's body merely a centimeter away from contact he fully disappeared leaving only an image behind that made the kick phase right through. The monkey's speed was still able to constantly surpass that of the king and swiftly appeared in the sky above Axis, he made his descent quickly and was aiming for an ax kick towards the shoulder of Axis whomst swiftly moved out of its way stepping forward only for it to scrape his back, yet this was enough to make a whole gash going straight through it, he was now dripping with blood from their backside.
Axis was finally starting to falter in his action despite his will to persist, he had been beaten down, arms broken, head bleeding, and now scarred on his back, though Tsun would still not stop and neither would Axis, with a quick turning around as the monkeylanded behind him he would drag the force of his spin into a kick directly towards the gut of the monkey seeming to make some sort of impact, stunlocking the foe. Axis quickly flowed into another motion as if it was a fluent stream perfectly going into each other with his leg connecting to the calf of the monkey causing a great pain and fully going to sweep his legs, this would make Tsun become shocked by him still being able to seemingly move around so easy when he was going to fall to the ground he kept himself up with his tail and was aiming to push himself back off and before he could he was kicked sky high by Axis himself sending him a small bit into the air. Axis used this opportunity to do a barrage of single legged kicks that touched every part of the monkey's body infusing each of these attacks with bravery and even using the energy to replicate each of these attacks creating more forms of kicks to utilize as much damage as he possibly could.
The attacks kept going, and going, and going to not even allow for Tsun to even recover.. That was until they slowed down, and slowed down, and then they stopped. Axis had kept gong and gong until eventually he had stopped and fell forward onto the ground. Axis was no longer conscious as he had finally succumbed to all of his injuries, no longer able to persevere through the pain now.
"Be proud Axis, you are strong, probably even one of the strongest humans I have ever meant."
The sky would suddenly tear asunder as a hole was ripped within reality as Tobias the Dogon entered the world once more flying down towards Tsun after causing a small earthquake upon his landing onto the ground. Tobias would seem curious of this event as he watched Tsun bandage up Axis.
"Tsun.. why don't you just heal him?" The monkey would have swiftly shook his head in response towards this. "If I did just heal him then that would take away some of the challenge, from your challenge wouldn't it? Besides he has to find that he was being reckless and the cost of it if he didn't have a healer."
The Dogon seemed to nod slowly towards the monkey after they had given their response, but the Dogon had another question.
"You know, I asked you to go easy on him, but that seemed a bit too easy you know, and you didn't even use any of your abilities."
Tsun burst into tearing laughter once more as he slapped one of his legs now as he was starting to walk away now.
"Well, let's just say, if I tried a little harder or used any of my powers. That man would have gone six feet under if I wanted to or not." Tsun exclaimed in a jocular tone.
"I see, well thank you old friend."
Tobias would give off a quick thanks before going off to leave the area himself, going through the crack in reality within the world as it closed leaving Axis to face more challenges once he eventually woke up.
