Chapter 39 - A Fierce Battle

Thorian, without any hesitation, went to meet his enemy without giving them a chance to think about how to attack. Although his movements, blocks, and attacks were not slow, they only managed to match the initial strikes but were unable to retaliate.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

General Zhao's face paled as he witnessed Thorian's combat capabilities. Intense humiliation filled his chest completely. Even in his wildest dreams, he would have never imagined that the skills of a single man would be enough to crush him in this way. Since the fight began, they had only been continuously defending themselves; they never had a chance to counterattack. From the start, the Fire Nation warriors were being suppressed, and by now, some had even died.

As the battle grew more intense, Thorian's ferocious attacks became increasingly dangerous. Not to mention the other Fire Nation warriors; only a few decided not to interfere in the fight, and many of them were confused about whom they were facing. It was as if he were a formidable warrior from ancient times, and although Thorian was not weak, he wasn't to be exaggerated either. There were certain individuals who could unleash that power that he was now handling with ease, and it was true that not many could accept that people could be so strong.

At that moment, Zhao felt as if he were facing a demon. The more he fought alongside his soldiers, the faster they were killed. And now he was in a mortal crisis. He could only watch as Thorian's sword pierced the necks of his soldiers, and some of those attacks occasionally were directed at him; in response, he only sought a way to stop the attacks of this young warrior and kill him. But who would have thought that they would be massacred? If he withdrew seeking to flee, naturally, he would be giving Thorian the opportunity to kill him.

Zhao might somehow escape, but where would his pride as a commander of a Fire Nation colony be? He couldn't humiliate his emperor that way. And so, Zhao decided to stand firm. But because of that, he knew that death would slowly come for him. Due to the sharpness of Thorian's sword in hand, it was obvious that it couldn't be blocked by his armor.

"Attack all at once!"

Boom!

But before Zhao could give another order, Thorian's sword arrived under his throat. Zhao's eyes widened in surprise, and he quickly turned sideways, just in the path of the sword that was about to pierce his neck.

"Aaahhhh!!!"

Zhao once again managed to escape death, but as a consequence, two of his soldiers had been frozen to death.

And so Zhao began the sad way of dodging and quickly retreating without being able to defend himself or his subordinates. From the start of the battle until now, less than two breaths of time have passed. But at this instant, Thorian had already sent around two hundred ice spears into the surroundings. Each sword gleamed with an icy glow, and every attack that Zhao narrowly dodged was sent toward one of his soldiers.

But as time passed, each attack became more difficult to evade than the last. There was no chance of returning the attack. While dodging, Zhao realized to his horror that, even if he wanted to bet his life on this battle and do everything possible, he didn't seem to have a chance of achieving anything. If he wanted to cause some damage to his opponent, the only way would be to withstand an attack and strike back with all his might.

"Noooo!!!"

Boom!

A cabin next to a soldier exploded into a thousand pieces.

Once again, Zhao felt a chill when he remembered how Thorian had mentioned killing Vilgax. How was it that he, too, would end up dead like the others? He had experienced countless battles, but how could someone like him be humiliated in this way by a young man? Was it really a dream, as he so desperately wanted it to be?

But even if it was the worst nightmare, this outcome couldn't be so ridiculous.

Thorian's face was expressionless, and his eyes were as cold as ice as he held a sword and a spear, attacking and massacring the soldiers around him. Thorian had become a perfect warrior, and the strength of his attacks had risen to a shocking level. Fighting against the most powerful warriors or making plans that involved self-harm was the only way he could be defeated.

This was a truth that Zhao was experiencing at this moment, as he was being suppressed and his soldiers massacred since the battle began. Thorian was getting increasingly crazed as he fought, and with each life he took, that elusive goal seemed to draw closer.

"One more, one more, they will all die."

As Zhao looked at Thorian's hateful expression, he understood why he was doing this, and he knew that unless they killed this enemy, he would never stop until he had the emperor's head.

"You are truly ruthless." Zhao this time couldn't completely dodge an attack, and his shoulder was lightly pierced by Thorian's sword.

Boom!

"Accursed demon, I'll bury you in this place with everything in this village!"

"Hahaha!" Thorian laughed maliciously as more ice spears appeared in the sky and fell upon the village like unstoppable meteors.

"Tell me, General, do you feel that taste of death falling upon your body? Do you feel that helplessness of being unable to do anything against an enemy who is immensely more powerful than you?" Thorian asked as he moved his hand, and around a dozen soldiers were massacred in an instant.

Terrible and eerie screams began to be heard in the surroundings. The soldiers coming down from the mountain stopped when they saw how the village had been completely ravaged by this man who had lost his jacket. Moving in front of Zhao, he swung his sword, and it passed slowly through his flight, feeling how it killed this man.

Death in Zhao's eyes wasn't terrifying, but what hurt him was being dragged toward it for no reason.

Boom!

In an instant, Zhao's body exploded into a thousand pieces as Thorian's sword impacted his body, thus generating a fusion of fire with ice and releasing it into Zhao's body, who couldn't defend himself.

At that moment, the general had died, and the remaining soldiers were collapsed on the ground without the will to continue fighting; all they hoped for was that their lives would be spared.
