Felix Quinn
Beta of the Lion's claw pack
The Pack has a total of 800 members, but currently only one-third of them are seated besides the bay. A wooden chair made by our craftsman, made out of maple woods. The wooden chair was designed to accommodate at least 500 members. Our packs have the highest sitting podium, catered only to their members.
We also have a semi chamber for visitors who wish to see the alpha.
In front of the members, are four high chairs finely made out of oak. The chairs are for the Alpha, Luna, Beta, and Omega.
Currently, only two of the seats are occupied by only me and Jake.
I felt a surge of migraine, 'these people are getting on my nerves.' I smiled, trying to look harmless.
"We've been quiet for years, the Alpha is unstable and could wreak havoc any time, we can't keep entrusting ourselves to him. These days, Alpha Jake's curse kept occurring frequently." One of the older pack members said and the others nodded in support.
"He could get better.." I voiced out.
"Get better? You have been saying this for five years now, Beta Felix, how are you going to make this happen?" He stared at me. A sigh escaped my lips, this man, Gregory, has always disagreed with whatever we do, he is always a pain in the neck.
"He doesn't even have a fated mate, since he bore no emotions to human kind, how are we sure he can understand our plight?" Gregory continued.
I'm our pack, everyone is entitled to freedom of speech and expression. Jake felt that since he can't understand their emotions that much, allowing the pack members to express them would allow him to solve their problems logically.
"My daughter found her mate last week, but is yet to hold a wedding to unite them sacredly. We are low on budget, how could we from low class be able to hold an extravagant wedding." Another shifter shipped in.
"Yes, our Luna no longer trains our pups, she also spends extravagantly. We know our pack is wealthy, but if it continues like this, we would be no better than those disgusting rogues, or those middle class Packs."
"Right if that happens, where would we keep our face?"
"Quiet." Richard commanded. "If you could give us three weeks, maybe after having a serious conversation with the Alpha, half of your problems might be solved." He stood elegantly.
Richard is the omega of the Lion's claw pack, he is always the sentimental type. I guess all Omegas are always like this.
My expression turned stony after his words. "I hope you don't repeat these words elsewhere, because if Alpha Jake gets a whiff of any information here outside this pack, you know better than me how merciless he could be." I stated, my voice clearly devoid of the sympathy that filled Richard's voice earlier.
Given my words they gasped and murmured amongst themselves.
"About the wedding, I'll consult our Luna and bring feedback to you." Richard announced. They murmuring members fixed their eyes on him,, like though he was the hope they couldn't afford to lose.
I know he was trying to reduce the tension in the air.
Suddenly, everyone took a deep breath… their eyes glued to one direction, they all shivered and their breathing became heavy.
The next minute, they trembled and some strong enough fell with their knees on to the ground, some weak omegas fainted. Richard and I weren't left out, our bodies shook also. We look towards the direction the members gaze were transfixed at.
Alpha Jake Devon, our leader.
Together with him is a woman whose aura reeks of deviance, stubbornness, pride and ruthlessness.
She is the one that was able to control Jake from having a blood lust episode. I got the information from the mind link scout Loretta sent earlier.
Her strange aura alone… proved that she mustn't be ordinary…
