Klara's POV
The meeting ended and Jake told me to wait by the side when a hefty shifter walked towards him.
I didn't hear them clearly but I heard that rogues were involved in an altercation with the guards and scout protectors at the gate of the borderlands.
My heart picked it pace, I have never been besieged before, even though I can fight now, I can't be compared to them who trained everyday.
I don't plan to shy away, it's now or never.
His mother appeared later, and I was certain that she would create a scene.
Earlier from the corner of my eyes, I saw her coming from the dim hallway leading to the bay, but I paid no attention.
Jake's mother had an intense argument for my sake and I suddenly felt uneasy.
I couldn't help but wonder that If I hadn't showed up, would there be this huge rift between both mother and son?
I sure love causing trouble, but all my life, I have never caused a trouble that I couldn't solve.
Clarissa showed up, exuding a calm and understanding demeanor and I surely didn't pay attention to her, unlike before.
When Jake growled just now, I was also startled, he nearly clawed his own mother, and my mouth hung open in shock.
If Clarissa hadn't grabbed his mother out of the way, she must have been severely injured.
I shook my head in dismay, I'm not in support of this. I don't want to be a Luna since I don't care for such a position anyway, I don't even have a wolf yet, just as his mother stated just now.
Come to think of it, she also mentioned that Clarissa is a wolf with abilities, that too a healer. She is more suited for stuff like this.
"Jake, you dare attack me because of a girl with unknown origins?" She looked enraged and stared at him, I could tell her hatred for me increased by leaps and bounds.
The grievance in her voice made my heart quiver, I suddenly wanted to go home. Not to my past life but back to the shadow moon pack.
Clarissa glanced at me and smirked. From that smirk, I suddenly deduced, this girl is not so simple.
Her smirk came and went like an illusion. I shook my head in dismay.
I walked towards Jake and muttered after calming down my breath. Who knows who would be at the receiving end of his anger.
Clarissa gave Jake an embarrassed and shy expression and led the Luna out of there.
Why do I feel like Jake's mother is Clarissa's puppet?
The tense atmosphere was disrupted by Delta Alex who seemed a bit impatient.
"Alpha, the rogues are getting impatient and want to force their way in."
Jake's eyes swiped at him and his expression was grave. "What they seek is what they would get."
His temper wasn't light at all.
"Take her back." Jake muttered his teeth clenching, as he referred me to Richard.
"Yes, Alpha."
Without waiting for anyone to speak, Jake turned and left with Felix and the Delta Alex.
I smiled softly, I plan to leave here, as long as no one is paying me attention.
All I need is a plan.
