Chapter 17
a little bit of time has passed since I woke up and I've spent most of the time outside, just admiring the scenery. it's very pretty and quite mesmerizing. codala walks out of the house and I don't see the mystery guest with him so I ask
" where's your mystery lady, huh ? "
" she has returned to the light space " he replies
" light space ? " I respond with a question.
" it's what I call our dimension " he replies
" and what do you call this one ? "
" the crawl space " he says
hmmm, it's pretty catchy if you ask me, but now I'm curious as to how he discovered this place in the first place. he tells me that he used to be friends with a magic practitioner back when he was younger and as a result he dabbled from time to time, now that I think about it most everybody I know who does magic either learnt it from a friend they knew who used to practice it. I then ask if he knows of anyone who practices hypnosis by any chance to which he says yes, telling me about one who he used to deliver wares to at the border villages of the kingdom, yeah, my village, but they haven't seen or even been in contact with each other for over a few months. still I ask him to give me whatever information he can on the hynotist, but he looks at me and asks why I'm interested in the hypnotist so much. I just tell him that I've always had an interest in hypnosis if anything and that I'd like to learn it. he tells me he knows some other people who might be interested in teaching it to me but I dismiss it. I tell him that I need to return to the Agi as my friends might be worried about me, he says he can take me back whenever but he is more worried about bumping into Capital guards while we exit the crawl space, still I need to let them know I'm okay and I can't help but wonder if cept is okay since we split up. codala tells me to come into the house with him, I ask why and he says it's how we return to light space. well now he has my attention, we go back into the house and he tells me to stand still, he asks if there is anyplace in particular I would like to rematerialize at and I give him the location and description of Mr. Ozar's motel. he lifts his robe's sleeves and I can see there are markings on his arms, kinda like tattoos, white in color, I think they are an accessory to his magic or something. while I'm busy trying to identify the writings on his arms there's a sudden flash of light and I can clearly see the space around me bending, my body starts to stretch and almost as soon as it began it stopped. my eyes are a bit blurry and I suddenly start to feel nauseous, I start panicking but codala says not to worry and that it's a normal experience the first few times. my vision starts to clear up and I begin to calm down, being blind is not something I want to experience at all. I look around and I quickly recognize where we are, we seem to have materialized in the alleyway beside the motel. I walk up to the front door and knock, but I don't get a response, I begin to wonder if there's no one around. I decide to knock again, louder this time, then I hear Gideon's voice saying not to break down the door. he opens it and as soon as he sees me he attempts to squeeze the life out of me. I introduce him to codala and codala to him, then Mr. Ozar comes out and he's shocked to find that I've already befriended another roachfolk. I also introduce him to codala and codala to him as well, I ask how Azzar is doing, he tells me he's in the back washing some robe's and stuff. I ask him about the others and he tells me that they had stepped out a while ago to search for me and cept, and they might have gone over to the guards station to report that we are missing. I'm not happy to hear this because I know that most of the capitals guards are under the yokko crime family's payroll, I tell Gideon and codala to stay in the hotel with Mr. Ozar and his son, Azzar. I ask Mr. ozar where the guards station is and the direction, he tells me and I quickly run out and try to find the others on my way there before something bad happens. as I run towards the guards station I see a few guards up ahead so I try to make a turn in to the alley way next to me but I run into another guard, and you'll never believe the one I ran into, the same one who stabbed
me in the back, the one who's head I smashed on a wall. he has bandages around his head, I have got to admit it looks good on him. we both stop and take a long look at each other, and with each passing second I can see the rage in his eyes building up as he remembers who I am and what I did to him, I can't help but let out a little giggle which seems to infuriate him even more.
" you, it's you " he yells at the top of his lungs
I try to make a run for it but the other guards quickly surround me, he tells them that I'm a criminal and that they should arrest me. though they'll find that I'm not that easy to Capture, which is what I'm thinking in my head before over a dozen guards dive and tackle me to the ground. i can barely breathe, these guys aren't giving me any chance to escape or even gasp for air.
