Chapter 23
the dark hand of the order, they only take their orders straight from the head of operations and him alone. I already know that, I'm sure you do too. what i really want to know is how powerful each of them are, their powers and the likes. he begins with himself.
Frankeen, one of the older members of the dark hand of the order, created almost an astonishing four hundred years ago by the mad scientist who dared to play God, Dr. Frankeensted van Dunn. a mad scientist who could only be described as psychotic with inventions that terrorized the lands hundreds of years ago, though dead, some of his inventions still roam and terrorize the continent. Frankeen was originally a normal boy raised on a farm owned by his uncle and aunt, away from his parents the help his uncle with his farm for the summer. later involved in an accident caused by a group of thugs who sort to extort money from his uncle and aunt while trying to defend them, he would lose a very dangerous amount of blood as well as missing various parts of his body and would later succumb to death. Dr. frankeensted van Dunn only just starting out his scientific journey at the time being close by would ask permission from the relatives to perform experiments on the body, though they refused, he would woo them with the possibility that he could bring the child back to life. they would accept his offer and give him permission to experiment on the boy's corpse, after a while of working on the decaying corpse he would find a way to slow the corpse's decay and later stop it entirely, giving him more time to continue his perverse work. after a few months he would succeed in replacing some of the lost organs and tissues with those of other individuals, and would somehow acquire the boy's soul through what can only be described as the dark arts and would name him after himself as his very first successful creation. though the boy's body would suffer quite a hideous appearance. still being one of his earlier creations he would ultimately consider it a failure and stop working on the body. during his later years wandering the continent he later encountered the dark order and would learn of the existence of accursed ones through them, gaining some favor with them on the promise that he would aid them in ridding the world of them, where they would fund his perverse experiments and provide him with ample test subjects. they would also come across Frankeen during one of their outings and mistake him for an accursed one engaging him in battle, he would prove difficult to destroy. however managing to subdue him and take him back to Dr. Frankeensted van Dunn for experimentation, he would notify them that he was an earlier draft in his work and they would use him during their pilgrimage, where he would show his usefulness to the order and prove to be far from a failure. during the Alpha Khan subjugation efforts of nearly a hundred and fifty seven years ago long after the death of Dr. frankeensted van Dunn he would prove further usefulness to the order and would later join the dark hand of the order. as the years would pass they would realize that Frankeen was nigh immortal, an undying body, never growing tired, never needing food or sleep. the perfect soldier to carry out the orders agenda. over the years as he wandered the world with the dark order he would learn of different cultures and practices as well as dark magic from various places in the world, through which he was able to acquire the dark mystic arts summons " Anubis ". an incredibly powerful " undergod ", one of the many deities in charge of the underworld. one of the most powerful undergod's to ever exist, at the command of Frankeen. now I know you're quite confused about the undergods, who or what they are and he'll explain in a bit.
" Undergods ", beings of great and immense power, but ultimately below the one true God. though each of the undergods has a jurisdiction that they govern, be it in this world or the afterlife. but being that powerful would mean the neverending torment they would receive from the humans they govern. humans for centuries have always envied the undergods and sort for ways to control or even take their power and make it their own, for no other reason than for war. to curb this and maintain the peace would mean that the undergods decide to allow humans command a portion of their power in the form of " summons ", but they would only offer it to those who they deemed worthy. the undergods even had to discuss with each other to make sure that they were in agreement, but not all of them were in support of this and would rebel against the motion that encouraged it, this splitting the upper deities and the undergods into factions. those who wouldn't mind their powers been drawn by humans and those who believed humans too low to directly call on their power.
" Undergods ", now I'd like to get one, I wonder what mine will be like. I ask that he tells me about the other members of the dark order starting with the other present member, the one that's been quiet in the background acting like he doesn't know what's going on. he tells me that that's his summons " Anubis " the death undergod.
" what, he's a part of the dark hand of order? " I ask
" yes and no " he replies
I didn't know this because there was no way I would have known but apparently once you prove yourself to be worthy of an undergods power the summons will always stay by your side until the hour of your death, that means even when you shower or even when you're taking a sh*t it will be there. aside all the power they grant, that's a let down. I would have given summons a ten for all the right reasons including their usefulness in battle but that just cuts it all down to zero.
