Chapter 26
another member of this occult group is their leader scryer Lin, hopefully I didn't butcher the name. but get this, aside the head of operations, he is one of the oldest members, as old as the dark order itself maybe older. he and he alone conveys the message of their head of operations which none of them have even seen, which I find crazy that they just follow the orders and agenda of someone they have never seen, they don't even know if the orders ways are just. Frankeen doesn't even know how powerful scryer Lin is, he is very secretive.
scryer Lin has some form of immortality, very efficient battle IQ, possible superhuman tendencies, shows signs of practicing multiple forms of magic, but one thing that Frankeen knows is that he has his own summons, multiple summons, Frankeen says that scryer commands the summons of the seven deadly sins of humanity, Gluttony, lust, sloth, pride, wrath, envy and greed. which is crazy to me because he can control different summons of the same multiple which would require an incredibly unthinkable amount of mana and he possibly practices a variety of magical arts. Frankeen doesn't even know of any other abilities he might be hiding from them, and it's very likely that he has many other abilities. I ask Frankeen that I didn't see the seven deadly sins of humanity summons earlier, he tells me that one of the others was a summons of scryer, sloth, it attends in his stead and relays information to us, since scryer has only been seen a few times by th e others and likes to maintain a close distance with the head of operations. Frankeen tells me that there have only been a few times he has seen scryer fight at full power and they always involved very powerful accursed ones, he says that the last time he witnessed scryer's true power was in the battle against the lord of castle tranis, Alaric the Graycold, a vampire and his four generals, clawthawne, berovic, Lazarus and polemia. a vampire of immense power and might, said to give even scryer strain, a tough battle that would see Alaric nearly make off with his life. though they would win the fight against the accursed one, it was not without loss. depleting the ranks of the order to a near zero, they were forced to recruit new operatives and replenish their ranks. but I'm confused, I thought vampires were a result of an unfinished dark arts spell that would result in the independence of an anchor, causing them to grow and adapt to a way that would grant them survivability, how can they be accursed ones. he tells me that all unnatural in a sense are accursed ones, including those made from spells like transmutations and those that have being deemed unworthy of the earth by the most high God. he says that there are so many accursed ones that have gained a tremendous amount of power and in doing so see themselves atop the world leaving it in a state of decay and ruin, that is why they do what they do, to preserve the balance and order of things. I reply by saying that not all accursed ones are bad, naive, I know, but I have a point. think about those that were born inheriting a cursed physiology that they never asked for, only to be hunted by a group of maniacs who think that killing them all is the best way to save humanity. humanity is already sh*t enough on their own as it is, wether they remove the accursed or not, humans will annihilate themselves without a doubt. he looks at me in cold silence and tells me that that kind of mentality is why the accursed ones are most dangerous, citing that eventually all accursed ones will reach this level of reasoning and will view humans as the problem, but the humans outnumber the accursed and the humans inherited the earth before the accursed, so humans will be allowed to rule the earth. I start to get angry just hearing him justify their crazy ideology, trying to make their cause justified.
" if the most high God never saw the need to cleanse the earth of the accursed ones, who are you to do so? " I yell at Frankeen
" we are the lord's sword, to cut out the rot of the earth that the lord would not touch, to do what must be done in order for the prosperity of the human race, and in doing so have sacrificed our humanity " he replies
the sheer amount of ego behind those words is almost staggering, outstanding even. then in the heat of the moment I yell out something that even leaves me a bit confused, I tell Frankeen that we never asked for this and the dark order should just leave us all alone. he stares at me in shock, then asks if I am ready to fight for those words till the end. but I give him no reply, just then Anubis starts to walk towards me with his scythe, but I'm not scared. he makes the motion to cut me down, I still do not move, Anubis then backs off and Frankeen asks if I am seriously thinking of opposing them. I give no reply but the stern look in my eyes saying all I need to say, it seems he is no longer taking me lightly. I on the other hand will have to be prepared to take on these guys if I'm to survive their pilgrimage at all, I'm going to have to train my body, spirit, mind and mana alike if I am to stop their genocidal crusade. but am I prepared to throw my life away for other people I don't know, people who don't know me. if I survive these genocidal maniacs I'm going to have to meet with the elder Shaman from the Moonlit Village so she can learn some magical arts.
